I loved this book! An interesting twist on time travel with a lot of well placed melancholy and humor. I now scream “chapter 56” whenever I‘m angry which is my new favorite literary reference. I read the hard copy book And listed to the audiobook which is read by the author and would recommend either as they are both super fun. My reading buddy Stormy like this book as well.

I would recommend the tagged book… and I would go back in time and have conversations with my dad and my brother that I wish I‘d had before they died.

I love a sci fi novel with good time travel elements that are easy to understand. This one was adventurous and quite philosophical at the same time. The main character was endearingly screwed up. Though it did seem a bit rushed at the end, the overall feel was creative and contemplative and very enjoyable.

Saw this in one of my Facebook book clubs and just had to share!

It took me a little to get into this book, but once I did I really enjoyed it. I appreciated how the author thought through a lot of typical time travel discrepancies and had them make sense. I stayed up too late finishing this book last night but it was worth it! I loved this book from the very beginning. There were a couple twists that I didn‘t see coming. All I can say is WOW! It‘s up there in my favorite books.

Today is a very gloomy day with rain and thunderstorms all day. I started this book and I‘m loving it so far!

I couldn‘t get out of bed until I finished this one today. I loved it! Easy to read and hard to put down. It‘s more than science fiction. It‘s about the meaning of life.

I liked this book, although it didn't happen until 1/3 of the way in! I read some great Litsy reviews and added it and thought it'd be an instant love-at-first-page kind of thing. I was turned off the main character at first though. He goes through a lot of changes and becomes much more of a likeable guy after a while.
This is about time travel. It's also about life, love, and what makes us who we are.

Something about the way this book was written made me read it super fast. It was time travel, split personalities, and great futuristic sci fi ideas. Loved it all and thought it would be a great movie!

Another booked based in my city. What's this one about? Family? Expectations of the world around us? Loss and pain? Life and love? Yes, but mostly it's about " there's no such thing as a life you're supposed to have" Oh and time travel. So good.

This is so different from anything I‘ve ever read. Halfway through I looked up and said, “this book is insane. I think I love it.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It‘s starting to get good!

Time-travel, love, the meaning of life, and what could happen if just one minor thing has altered in a time line? I kind of enjoyed the parts where Tom/John discovers love and a functional family, but the rest simply throws us for too many loops. Time loops, navel-gazing, too many causalities and paradoxes, and self-reference loops. The idea would have made a great short story, but at 384 pages it is more like a bloated headache. ⭐️⭐️

At first, I felt super conflicted about ALL OUR WRONG TODAYS. It was seriously fun--but it leaned into lots of gross tropes re: Unexceptional Dudes Who Make Good. Ugh.

As the book rolls along, though, it acknowledges and interrogates those tropes, allowing me to love the hell out of its time travel shenanigans, its family issues, and how it considers the ways we shape our worlds. The climax was a bit of a let-down, but it still gets 4.5 stars.

I just wasted a substantial portion of my life making the world's most boring soup. The recipe came from CUT THE SUGAR by Ella Leché, a "healthy food" cookbook that I now suspect is aimed at people who straight up hate flavour. The lack of spices should've clued me in.

I almost salvaged the broth by adding a bunch of Cajun seasoning. The vegetables, I fear, mostly just taste Boiled. Capitalization necessary. #audiocooking

My ginormous puzzle is coming together. Whee!

So's this book. Yesterday I found it cool but kinda gross. The part I listened to today actively interrogated that grossness, and now I'm straight up having a blast with it! Fingers crossed it ends well. #audiopuzzling

I'm a little torn on this book. On the one hand, it's really cool. On the other, the protagonist does Creepy Dude Stuff like falling in "love" with a superawesome woman he barely knows, who I'm pretty sure will be forced to surrender some of her superawesomeness in service to his story. Gross.

@AthenaWins recommended this to me forever ago and I finally got to it. A fun, quick listen and another book about grief and parents...is every book about parents or is that just a thing I keep picking up? I liked I lot of what Mastai was working with...how we become who we are, grief, shame, also there's time travel. Sidenote, we know about nostalgia but what would a comforting but ultimately false yearning toward the future be called?

So I have come to realize that I quite enjoy books about time travel. This explores what could happen if you change the past but it ends up being so much more than that. I know a lot of people found this book to be so-so, and some parts dragged on for far too inf, but overall I really did enjoy it. #audiobook #scribd #timetravel

Well, that was unexpected. Pulls you in from the first paragraph. And unlike most page turners out there - this doesn‘t start with a murder. #original fresh and utterly unputdownable.

This was unfortunately another over hyped book I stopped reading at around 200 pages because I didn't care enough to finish. It has interesting ideas but this isn't enough to make you eager to finish.

Is traveling through time actually a good idea? If you already messed up the first time, would you do it again?
I liked the idea behind this book and there were moments when I was really into it, but I don't know, something was off.
Mainly I couldn't connect 100% with the main character and having the story told from his first person perspective didn't help.

I didn't like it. It wasn't the worst thing I've ever read, but the worst for this year. I liked the science (sort of) and I thought it had potential. But... the sexism irritated me to no end, I really disliked the main character, and I just wanted it to end.

My TBR shelf

Listened to the audiobook and it was amazing. The author narrates and he is sheer perfection. This wildly inventive time travel story is equal parts brainy nerd-fest and total emotional drama. The book takes so many unexpected turns and I could not wait to see what was coming next. LOVED IT.

This is an interesting take on dystopian/speculative fiction where THIS world is the dystopia.

I truly enjoyed this book until the very end. I wound up skimming the last few chapters. Other nit-picky things, didn't like the MC, and the chapters were ridiculously short which made it all to easy to put the book down.

While I was reading it though, I truly enjoyed the story. The book did not resolveitself the way I hoped/expected it would.

I‘m back! Been MIA because I‘ve been very sick with the flu (ironically I‘ve just had the flu shot) and then last night was my baby @Ciara_Rosey 21st birthday party. Being a non drinker at a party is an experience😋Anyway, this #BookMail came Friday, I was told that if I liked Dark Matter by Blake Crouch, this book does the same subject even better. Plus, I absolutely love the cover!

So entertaining!! But also smart and thoughtful. Can‘t wait for this to be a movie. One of my fav reads this year.

I'm a sucker for time travel books. This one got off to a fantastic start, but really went downhill at the end. The end got really convoluted, and had too many moments of "and suddenly I understood everything about [some character he didn't like]" where the reader didn't understand at all.

No idea where to start with this mess. The narrator's "charming" underdog-esque insistence that he's dumb and not a good writer doesn't work because it's actually bad writing and he never becomes all that likeable. The pacing is a mess and while there's an attempt at some sort of sentimental grand finale it just doesn't pan out. What is this book even about? I thought of bailing many times and now I kind of wish I had.

I think this is a “your mileage may vary” read. Some people will love it and others won‘t. I felt Mastai had a few loose ends. But I liked the story a lot. I also felt that the heart of the story was a son trying to relate to his father (and to a lesser degree his mother.)
