I enjoyed this book and am so thankful for Litsy for putting Boyne on my radar. Each chapter delved more into the characterization and I can't wait till my next book from Boyne.
#PopSugar2019 (14/50) The Loving Spirit - du Maurier's debut. Claude and Camille - novel based on a true story.
#AtoZLitsy 12/26 finished Nellie by Cynthia Woolf
This is quite boring up to 2/3 of the over hyped book. Not much of a plot, both superficial POVs run from one place to another, the answers delayed ad infinitum so that you read on. A pity because the premise hinted at so much more.
The last third of the book was better, perhaps the book would be better if Rhee's POV had been more developed. Her POV was driving the plot, while Aly's felt like repetitive filler. #E for #AtoZLitsy
I expected this to be a 5 star read, but it was a bit of a let down. The last 100 pages were perfect, but it took awhile to get there and I think the author could have woven a more cohesive story in the beginning. The Hemingways, the Fitzgeralds, and the Murphys are entertaining to read about but their antics grew old and it wasn‘t until tragedy hit that their self reflection kicked into gear. This is a very tentative pick for me.
