After the cliffhanger ending of book 9, Violet and Klause must make their way up the mountains to recover Sunny from Count Olaf and his crew of villains. Along the way, they meet a mysterious stranger and try to uncover more secrets about VFD. Truly this book is where Sunny comes into her own and proves she is not a baby anymore 💖

Was the series that really got me into reading as a kid
Finally continuing with my re-read of the series ahead of watching each Netflix episode. And sadly, Daniel Handler continues to be a trash human.
Book 1/6 for #AwesomeApril
I was disappointed with the slow and boring start, but this ended up being one of the best in the series. I love that we learn more about VFD, but also end up with even more questions.
This was a pretty dull entry in this overly long series. I am determined to finish reading the things before I finish watching the show (which is a great and not-at-all-dull adaptation). So I shall slog through. Book 9 was pretty good, but that might be because I have a liking of creepy carnivals. Hopefully book 11 will be...not dull?
(Quarantine book #26. Checked off "read a book beginning with S" on my reading challenge.)
Poor Sunny was separated from her siblings in the end of the last book in this installment, and The Slippery Slope picks up right where they left off! Will Violet and Klaus be able to escape their own unfortunate events and also reunite with Sunny?
I‘m still enjoying this series as I find so much hope in how resilient this trio truly is!
How many more bad things could possibly happen to them?
Currently reading The Slippery Slope, aiming to finish The Series of Unfortunate Events this year, fingers crossed
I have yet to meet an evil well-read person. It must be true!
Violet and Klaus baudelaire make their way up the Mortmain Mountains to rescue their sister Sunny from count olaf and his troupe. They meet Quigley Quagmire, someone who they thought was dead and visited the headquarters of a mysterious organization called V.F.D. which was burned down.
Well I caught the stomach bug that has been going around near me, so little reading done! I‘m bed ridden and watching A Series of Unfortunate Events since I recently finished the books!
Here‘s hoping I‘m back to reading soon but the rest has been nice!
I hope you all are having an enjoyable weekend!
Finished reading this to my daughter; tomorrow we watch the Netflix show. This one even I‘m looking forward to seeing. I love the we get Sunny‘s point of view.
#bfcr2 I got in so many steps while reading this! #fitwizards I exceeded my step goal, checked off one book, came up short on sleep. Tomorrow is another day.
#mordecaireads We‘ve finally got a better bedtime routine down and get back to chapter books at night.
The Original Girl On Fire™️: Esmé Squalor
I was so mad when I first read this and the survivor turned out to be Quigley Quagmire. Like, there‘s no reason it would have been one of the parents with so many fires to choose from. But still, So Mad.
Due to it being a children's book the language is a little basic for me but the dark element of fires, kidnapping and murder are both shocking for its genre and appealing to me.
So ahead of its time! All in the first chapter! From 2003!

Ugh, I know, I‘m supposed to be challenge reading. But my sweet Baudelaires need me!
Reasons to visit your library. Sometimes they will give you a full size candy bar!! Yes I'm reading it again. The next season is coming out.
“If you feel . . . that well-read people are less likely to be evil, and a world full of people sitting quietly with good books in their hands is preferable to world filled with schisms and sirens and other noisy and troublesome things, then every time you enter a library you might say to yourself, 'The world is quiet here,' as a sort of pledge proclaiming reading to be the greater good.” #Read #QuotsySept18
Attention german speaking Littens! I‘ve decided to complete my Series of Unfortunate Events. I have books 1-9 and want to buy the last ones. Apparently that‘s not as easy as I thought, I can only find them for absurd prices(50-200€ per book...) so in case one of you stumbles across one at a flea market please buy it for me- I will pay you back for sure! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
June was a good month! I feel like I'm finally back on track after a couple of slow months. I even made progress on three different reading challenges 😃 I also decided to start keeping a reading journal. This is my first entry. I forgot to include format, number of pages, genre, etc. so I'll have to do another page. #JuneWrapup #ReadingResolutions #June2018Stats
I really do love these books. They made me laugh when I was a kid, and they still make me laugh now 😄
My first thoughts for #BookishMountain were Mount Thunder (Kiril Threndor) & Melenkurion Skyweir from the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, but then I thought about my current read (tagged), which takes place in the mountains... which led to me thinking about my growing #TBRMountain...which led to me cobbling together this image that tries to incorporate all of my jumbled thoughts re: bookish mountains. #ReadingResolutions
Hooray! I finished 1 book for #deweys24hourreadathon! Does it still count if it‘s after midnight? Celebrating with a bowl of cookie dough. 🍾🍪🎊🎉
That was a fun one and now I don‘t have to wait a year to find out what happens next. The plot is really taking an interesting turn and there‘s less redundancy. I‘ll read the next one soon, which I actually still own!
Dinner with the Baudelaires. Macaroni, alfredo sauce from a jar, a can of tuna, red pepper flakes, and peach coke. I thought about doing pop tarts again with a glass of milk, but then decided to get fancy. #deweys24hourreadathon

Look who has joined me! This lasted 4 seconds. #catsoflitsy #deweys24hourreadathon
I am terrible at readathons! I fell asleep! Continuing now on chapter 7! Hoping I can at least finish 1 book today even if it‘s just a children‘s book. #deweys24hourreadathon

So I‘m reading out in the town common while I wait for my laundry to finish drying at the laundromat around the corner, when I‘m distracted by the sounds of squealing. Someone is out walking their pig!! I love Western Mass. #cute #pigsoflitsy #deweys24hourreadathon
“I can no more suggest the reading of this woeful book than I can recommend wandering around the woods by yourself, because like the road less traveled, this book is likely to make you feel lonely, miserable, and in need of help.” #deweys24hourreadathon
Adding a book to my #readathon day. My husband and I just finished the next season of the Netflix Series of Unfortunate Events, and they left off at the same exact cliffhanger that I left off on when I read the series like 15 years ago and never finished. Slippery Slope hadn‘t been published yet, and I was in college, so life gets in the way! My anxiousness has been renewed, so THE TIME HAS COME. #deweys24hourreadathon
It's a fallacy, I tells ya!
#bookanddrink for #uncannyoctober One of my favorite things about fall is the increased desire to drink copious amounts of tea.
This installment was pretty suspenseful, so I read it in one sitting! I'm glad we're finally starting to get some answers. There's only a few books left now, and I'm very curious to find out how the series will end!

New reading buddy and friend for Calypso! Meet Luna! You may think she looks exactly like my other cat but actually she is much smaller! 😻 (I have a weakness for calicos) #catsoflitsy #littenkitten #luna
Took a two hour, three-ish mile walk along the Schuylkill River today in Philly listening to the incomparable Tim Curry narrate this Snicket book. Now enjoying a beer at Crime & Punishment before heading to a beer garden atop the Free Library of Philadelphia. Good start to my use-it-or-lose-it staycation!
