The Other Woman
The Other Woman | Sandie Jones
The Other Woman by debut author Sandie Jones, is a gripping psychological thriller, perfect for fans of Michelle Frances's The Girlfriend and B A Paris's Behind Closed Doors. There's nothing that this mother wouldn't do for her son . . . Emily thinks Adam's perfect; the man she always hoped but never thought she'd meet. But lurking in the shadows is a rival; a woman who shares a deep bond with the man she loves. A mother whose love for her son knows no bounds.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I read this one a few months ago and forgot to post a review. It was an interesting take on the wife/mother-in-law dynamic; It seems like a classic toxic, narcissistic mother-in-law disapproving of her soon to be new daughter, but, as in real life, things aren't always as they seem.

My thriller reading mood continues. I actually started his as an ebook months ago but couldn‘t get into it. Finally thought to switch to audiobook which did the trick.

This book was just okay for me. I think the MC is focused on all the wrong things and her man doesn‘t sound worth the effort she‘s putting in. Maybe this is my single brain speaking, but I don‘t understand her focus on getting married so quickly. Glad I can check this off my tbr.

SilversReviews A good read!! 6mo

Well, I can't go to sleep now. That ending was intense! My heart is pounding.

#readwithus #scarathlon2021 #teamslaughter

Linsy Also, I know that he's married by the end, but I wish she's ended up with James! 😫 Or at least a hint, instead of it being so closed off like that at the end. I'm a terrible person! 11mo
Linsy (1/2) But yep, fifteen minutes later, it's still bugging me. That poor girl went through so much!!! And he still loves her, I'm sure of it. Sorry Kate, but I'm rewriting your ending. After giving marriage a good try, James and Kate part as friends, realizing they're just not as compatible as they thought. They share custody affably. After a respectable grieving period, James and Emily finally find each other. 11mo
Linsy (2/2) Adam cannot contain his fury when he finds out and ends up doing something so outrageous he adds time to his sentencw. Mwa ha ha. James and Emily live happily ever after and Pammie beats her cancer's arse. She lives for her granddaughters and Kate is still part of the family. But now, side twist, she's found love with Pippa. And now my brain can rest. 11mo

Current read. The mother-in-law in this book is really stressing me out! But also, I'm halfway through, and there's no sign of it being a thriller yet.

Book 105

I listened to The Other Woman thinking it was a thriller. It's more of a story about love with an abrupt twist at the end. An easy listen but unmentionable. ⭐⭐⭐

I‘ve only read one other book by Sandie Jones so I was excited to read this one! I really enjoyed it and like the other book there was an insane twist at the end. You never see it coming. I am definitely going to read her other books! 🌟🌟🌟🌟!

Second book I‘ve read with the same title. Other was by Joy Fielding (great book). In this book we meet Emily who has fallen in love with Adam and the Other Woman is his seemingly evil woman who is doing everything possible to break up this couple. Since the death of their father Pammie bas her two adult sons wrapped around her finger. Great plot twists

This has been on my TBR for years and I finally got to it as an audiobook.

This had me reeling and made it very hard to focus on my work, because WOAH.

I felt every emotion throughout this one and really enjoyed it.

Why does this book have a 0% on Litsy? I scrolled through a few posts and quite a few people seemed to enjoy it. 😳

xicanti It‘s probably one of those cases where Litsy automatically combines the posts people‘ve made on multiple listings for the same title, but it hasn‘t averaged out the ratings across those listings. 1y
ItsAnotherJen I've noticed Goodreads is much more accurate with ratings. Not that it makes me love Litsy any less! 1y

Immersive and twisted, this book was fantastic! A domestic thriller that shows the lengths of how far one woman will go to terrorize another. Highly recommend this one and I plan to read more from this author #sandiejones #theotherwoman

This was between a pick and a so-so for me. I decided to bump it up to a pick, since ultimately it was a decent book... I originally had such high hopes for it, that I ended up feeling a bit let down. In the end I gave it a 3/5 stars. Third book finished for #JubilantJuly @Andrew65

This started off kind of slowly, actually very slowly. I guess part of the reason was because I was reading a lot more heavy books and it didn‘t match my mood at the beginning. Once I got started it was a good read. I definitely guessed what was going on before it was revealed but it was still good. Jones does a good job of building suspense and leaving little clues along the way. My major hang up is that sometimes she jumps around a bit.

Happy World Book Day!! I decided to try to spell the word “world” with books. I kind of cheated with the “o” but you‘ll let that slide, right?

I know that we all pretty much celebrate books every single day. But today is extra special! What current reads do you have going to honor this event? I‘m reading Harry‘s Trees by Jon Cohen, Midnight at the Blackbird Cafe by Heather Webber, and The Liar‘s Daughter by Megan Cooley Peterson.

Andrew65 Loved Rebecca. 3y
Butterfinger The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. 3y
abookishbutterfly @Andrew65 I haven‘t even read it yet! Can you believe it? But I read this amazing short story by Daphne DuMaurier a couple months ago and then I knew I absolutely needed to put Rebecca in my TBR stack. 3y

Adam and Emily meet at a networking event and are soon joined at the hip. Within months they are engaged. After a bad breakup years earlier, things are falling into place for Emily. There‘s just one teeny problem, Adam‘s mother Pammie will stop at absolutely nothing to get Emily out of her son‘s life. I won‘t say anymore, the less you know about this up front the better. It was like the book version of a lifetime movie, which I enjoyed.

I've never really hated a book until now. I've disliked some but didn't hate because they at least had one thing I've liked. This one though I didn't care about any of the characters or the story. When I read the description it gave me Hush vibes so I was really excited because I love that movie. Nothing but disappointment.
