This debut author opens with a relatively simple straight forward tale. The nuance is all in the decisions adults make when faced with cultural, economic and racial differences. The charm all comes from a delightful 3 year old well drawn, and the 2 main adult characters having a supportive girl gang that will stand up for them in the face of conflicting challenges. I was sorry for the ending‘s suggestion of the 3 year old‘s life #hellosunshine

If you are addicted to podcasts, this is a great book for you. A Scottish noir thriller that romps throughout Europe, it tells the story of a housewife and mother who discovers not only that she knows the victims of a true crime podcast but that her own hidden identify is about to be exposed. Full of humor and twists it also manages to be emotionally devastating in an authentic way. #hellosunshine

I enjoyed the Pasternak and Ola storyline and the US involvement in the publication of Dr. Zhivago. I was also intrigued by the roles women played in the early intelligence wars, from typist to spy, but I didn‘t think the character development worked very well in that part of the storyline. Nevertheless a bit of a treat for me to read. Picture is just the day‘s harvest to go with the day‘s reading. #hellosunshine

I struggled through the 1st half - I felt the characters were indistinguishable from another. The 2nd half was a whole different ballgame - I couldn‘t put it down! I can relate to the issues they faced in their workplace, even felt angry at times + can see why this book resonates with so many. I loved the mystery behind their CEO‘s death + twists surrounding it.

This afternoon I found myself debating which book to start next, when Reese announced her July pick. I thought, "why not?" and started the egalley. 20% in after an hour of uninterrupted reading (with my phone out of reach), and I'm enjoying it! #hellosunshine
