I'm trying to venture out a bit with genres so every so often I'll reach for a romantic comedy. I'm working on You Had Me At Hola at the moment. It's entertaining and I like the Latinx representation but whew..... so far its less rom com and more racy. It's not going to be one that knocks my socks off but if you've got your eye on it and like more straight romance I don't think you'd be disappointed. #youhadmeathola

The Library Book | Susan Orlean

Mehso-so

This book is targeted toward a very specific audience and likely won't be everyone's cup of tea. It was slow and overly detailed at times, weaving the history of the library with true crime story telling. I did walk away from this story with a much bigger appreciation for the institution of our libraries.

Loved it! A young woman raised of the grid in the Kevinian Cult will question everything she's learned..... at a gruesome price. A solid read.

Gripping historical fiction that weaves culture and the complex relationships of women into a novel that is sure to be a classic. I was initially skeptical if I would enjoy this one but once I started reading it was hard to stop. Heartwarming and thought provoking. Highly recommend

Enjoyed so much about this book and learned a few things about Bunco, a game that requires a circle of friends and a roll of the dice. The format of the book was fresh and different, the fun, witty, and quirky banter between friends is engaging and entertaining. It's a nice departure from predictable, formulaic genres- perfect for anyone looking for a change of pace from their usual reads.

Not a fan of this one. Love Reese's Book Club, otherwise this book would have been a DNF for me. Dull, redious read that never really hits its stride.

Fantastic character development, like being inside the mind of a damaged child that's grown into a damaged adult, funny, witty, emotional- a fantastic ride from start to finish. #eleanoroliphantiscompletelyfine

An epic work of fantasy and historical fiction. Inspired by a time before King Arthur and Merlin, the story centers around Languoreth, a "lost queen" on a mission to become a Wisdom Keeper. The novel is well researched and elements of Druid culture enrich the story. The beginning of a fabulous trilogy that you don't want to miss. I've been anticipating this novel since I saw it mentioned by @hollyheartsbooks on YouTube. High fantasy with innovative world building and dialog. Great characters that are easy to love. The story has an intriguing magic system with dark themes and elements of humor. It was easy to stay interested in the story. Enjoyable read, I recommend this one! I just couldn't get into this one. The magic system felt contrived and it was difficult to take it seriously in the early chapters. I ended up DNF this one but really wanted to love it. Pass for me.

Outstanding story! Enjoyed every minute, its even better as an audiobook. I wish there had been more building around the "cult" aspect of the book but otherwise it was a great read. Told from multiple points of view flawlessly. The story kept me engaged and there were a few twists to keep me glued in. I highly recommend this book! #thefamilyupstairs #lisajewell #atriabooks
