Such a satisfying end to the third book in this series. I didn‘t know how they were going to wrap it up. I thought “surely, it can‘t end this way?!” Then it all came home beautifully 🥹 can‘t wait to start Map of Days!

Absolutely loving this series! 🥸 I have to purchase the sixth book yet but time to start the fourth book of miss peregrines home for peculiar children series, map of days. Library of souls was good but the ending was the most capturing and attention grabbing part of that book. The ending had me on the edge of my seat the entire time and I could NOT put the book down, kept reading past 2 in the morning until I finished the book.

The last two months I didn't read anything ~at all~ mostly because I was fostering these two puppies for an NGO. Now they are both grown up and adopted 😊
I finally finished what I thought was the last book in the series. Honestly, I didn't love it. The first two books are waaay better. I also don't like it when too many new characters/places are added so close to the end.

Should I read Map of Days?

AmyG Omg they are so cute. Thank you for fostering…what a wonderful thing. 2y

This is definitely my favourite one yet!! Really kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time✨
The ending had my emotions on a roller coaster🎢 I was furious, sad, happy, I even cried a little💧
Can‘t wait to listen to book 4!
& the final book (6th) is set to release Feb 2021! No time to waste!🎶

I love this setting, the characters, the villains, and the magic system. My only issue with these books is despite how deeply interesting they are...they can‘t hold my interest for a long time. However, that feeling isn‘t enough to dissuade me from continuing the series. The plot, character development, world building, and atmosphere compete heavily with Riggs‘s writing style and win out. The ending didn‘t feel rushed or easy—tenterhooks!

These books are so peculiar but I‘m definitely getting into them more. I think this is the best so far, good story line and a satisfying conclusion. The photos are great - add a dimension to the story, although they can feel forced on occasion.

Geenie Come on!!! There‘s more!? And I just got the first one. Just when I though I was keeping up with the Joneses. Delightful. 👍❤️ 4y
Mrs_B @Yoshi-and-a-book I know what you mean! I‘ve got the next one (book 4, which I think is the most recent) out the library ready but I need a break before I start. I can recommend persevering with the series though, I didn‘t rate the first one. 4y
Mrs_B @Yoshi-and-a-book ok I googled it. According to Wikipedia there are 5 out - the 5th came out in January. The first three make a trilogy, then book 4 is the start of a new trilogy. Worth it though! 4y

I finally finished this after starting it a year ago (no idea why I stopped reading it 🤷‍♀️), and it might be my favorite in the series! The ending is incredible. Pictured is Addison, one of my favorite characters ♥️

CBee @ShyBookOwl ha! There are a handful that I bailed on but plan to come back to; I don‘t know what happened with this one as I love the series 🤷‍♀️😂 4y
ShyBookOwl @CBee lol it happens. Sometimes the timing is just off 4y
CBee @ShyBookOwl true. And I am the worst mood reader sometimes 😂 4y
ShyBookOwl @CBee oh me too. Especially with audiobooks! 4y
CBee @ShyBookOwl I don‘t do audiobooks often, but I would probably be the same way! It isn‘t the book so much as the narrator, etc. You don‘t want to listen to hours of Elmo narrating War and Peace (okay, that‘s an extreme example but I hope it made you laugh) 😂😂 4y
ShyBookOwl @CBee Haha it did! And I know just what you mean! 4y
CBee @ShyBookOwl glad it made you laugh 😂 After I wrote it, of course I started hearing Elmo‘s voice in my head 😂 4y

An excellent ending to a great series! I read through this so quickly the first time that I didn't really remember a lot if it. Another cast of wonderful characters (Mother Dust was an instant favorite) and incredible world building that still impresses me! I can't wait to finally get to Map of Days!

I absolutely loved this book. Ransom Riggs has done a wonderful job developing a story and putting it so beautifully together. The pictures in this book gave a sense of reality to the story. This is my favourite book from this series. I loved the plot twists. It is overall a wonderful series to get lost in...

Just unboxed the February Bookish Box... not to sure how I feel about it. I absolutely love the quote on the shirt but I was really upset to get another purple shirt from them. Sadly, the bookmark is probably my favorite but it doesn‘t even line up in design properly with their other bookmarks like advertised 🤷‍♀️

This was a great trilogy! I read all three in about week, I could not put them down. The pictures we're so interesting and I love how they didn't make it feel like a childrens book. You didn't feel like you were reading a young adult book. Such fascinating books I recommend the whole trilogy.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 /5 stars I think this may be my favorite book of the series so far! I love being able to go on Jacob's journey as his abilities grow and he learns to use them. Also the moments between Emma and Jacob are so sweet. I just got the fourth book and am excited to continue this series!

This was the third book in the Miss Peregrine‘s Peculiar Children series. It continues Jacob and Emma‘s hunt for Miss Peregrine and their peculiar friends. Lot of vivid descriptions and adventures as well as new characters. The ending seems to end the series so I am curious to read the latest book.

Well, I pushed through and finished it. I did need to know how Jacob's story ended. It got a little better, the bridge heads were great, but much of it felt forced. For example the pictures. In the first they seemed to inspire the story. Here they were far less interesting. Take this one for example. And what 16 year old boy from Florida would ever call someone a lout?

I have a problem. I started this the other night, got through the first chapter (about 60 pages) and I don't really care. I can't decide if I should push on or put it aside. The same thing happened when I read Hollow City. I read some but put it down and didn't look back for a year. Maybe I'm over Jacob Portman's adventures. Anyone read it? Does anything happen that might pull me in?

thereadingowlvina I've not read his novels in this series before but I read the Hollow City graphic novel and Tales of the Peculiat. Both were good. But I know you're not the only who feels that way about his book 2 & 3. 6y
Kayla.Adriena I felt the same way ! And I very much wanted to like them. I thought the movie was awful as well 6y
kristincatastrophic @Kayla.Adriena I enjoyed the first one but this one feels forced, especially the pictures. I refuse to watch the movie. I could just tell by the trailers too much was changed. How could they change Emma's power from something pretty badass to something so passive? 6y
kristincatastrophic @thereadingowlvina I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling this way. Maybe I should've tried the graphic novels. 6y

And so the #PeculiarChildren trilogy ends. [I know there‘s a new book coming out this fall; I‘ll definitely add it to my hold requests at the library when it becomes available.]

While I‘m still annoyed by the tokenism of Jacob and his family‘s Jewishness, overall it‘s a good series with interesting characters. This book was a good conclusion to the adventure started in book one.

I remember really liking the first book and thinking the second one was just ok, but I couldn‘t get into this last one at all. The narrative was sloppy and simplistic with lots of loose ends, and the found photo concept just felt forced. I heard he‘s releasing a fourth one which I‘ll definitely be skipping.

TheBookKeepers I felt like the series declined with each book two. 6y
