Really really good! The anime is good but so far I'm liking the book better.
I enjoyed this so much! 😊
I see why this is so popular. After Light Yagami finds a Death Note (a notebook belonging to a Shinigami death god) everything changes. Write someone‘s name in the book & they die—either by heart attack or a method the writer suggests. Light doesn‘t want to use it for evil. No, he wants to use it for good & so starts killing off criminals on his way to building a new utopia. When he becomes the hunted things get even more complicated. A good read.
It snowed this morning, the sun set at 4:36pm and the temperature is currently 26 degrees Fahrenheit and falling so yes, I am in my pjs, under the blankets and enjoying some reading therapy. I bought my husband the complete Death Note series a year or two ago when he started getting into anime (because a book is always better!) and he loved it. This week he gave me Volume 1 and told me I should read it. The howling winds outside say, “good idea!”
I hadn't read this since high school, but it's every bit as dark, clever and morally ambiguous as I remember. Glad I hung onto it all these years, even though I got rid of the vast majority of my manga collection.
Spending the evening revisiting an old favorite series. #manga
Help Littens!!! So I've never read Manga before but I've read comics. This series seems really interesting and I'm contemplating buying the whole boxed set or just volume 1 first to see if I like it?
Boxed set=$65 vs vol. 1=$9
I finally got back into my reading groove in September!
This was my first manga. I must admit that I watched the Netflix movie first, but the manga is so much better! I love the dynamic between Light and Ryuk. I found the rules for using the Death Note fascinating. I will definitely continue reading this series!
Even though my expectations are not high, I am still looking forward to the live action adaption of Death Note (manga series) on Netflix this August 25th. I would've preferred a series rather than movie, but I'll take what I can get 👍
Here's a link to an article about what the mangaka thought about the adaption:
Hey booknerds 👋🏻 so this is my current read I'm already half through it and I'm really enjoying it especially death note i'm in love with it ❤️❤️ hope you're have a nice day 😍😍. #booknerd #deathnote #bookaholic #reading #books #bookfeautures #book #bookbuddies #bookblogger #bookphotography #bookworm
Yeah, this is a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me. The art is fabulous, the story is interesting, and there is never any confusion as to who is talking or the order of things. It is amazing.
Light finds a Death Note, which gives him the power to kill by simply writing a name. He begins to use it to create a better world, but will the power ultimately corrupt him?
Can't say enough, how much I love this series! ❤️❤️❤️
To celebrate #ReadAcrossAmerica (#happybirthdaydrseuss) the schools in our county let kids dress up as their favorite book characters. I saw lots of Thing 1 and Thing 2, two Sam I Ams, a great Lorax, a Horton, and a couple Junie B. Joneses. But I got a billion teacher cool points when I realized one of my 5th graders was L from Death Note. She said no one had noticed yet and it made my day and hopefully hers too. #marchmadness #teachersoflitsy
I haven't read any manga before but apparently this is a good place to start? I just love this cover it's so gorgeous!! A high school student who discovers a supernatural notebook... sound right up my alley :)
Anti-hero/flawed character. Light Yagami is the main character of a manga series called Death Note. But main character isn't always good character - and he's not. His form of justice is by killing off "bad people" via a mystical notebook given to him by a death God. The guy is smart, but the power definitely got the better him.
The writing is brilliant and the suspense always made me crave more. #manga #deathnote #octphotochallenge #antihero
I actually took photos of all the "How to Death Note" through out this little book.. I found them immensely enlightning ? And by the end of it I found that I have gotten used to the way of reading it too, and I am excited to continue the story ??? I have already started the second volume ? I recommend this one, highly ? I especially enjoyed the exchange between Light and Ryuk ???
My first foray into the world of manga and I'm glad I started with Death Note. I love the concept of a notebook with the power to kill, and the questions raised about how to use it and whether it should be used. And the art, you guys. The art. It's amazing.
I'm definitely looking forward to the next volume.
This is my first foray in to the World of Manga ? I chose Death Note because I have watched some of the anime some years ago and quite liked it (I'm not sure why I never got around to finishing), and my library has the little books, albeit in Danish, and I figured I'd give it a try ? The format is different, and I have to shuffle to "the back" to remind myself in which order to read the frames ? Also the pictures are chaotic? ? Or is that me?
Excellent concept that involves humans having control over the gods of death... What happens if we could kill anyone without a trace? How would you use this ability and to what price? ☠☠
