My husband is NOT an audiobook fan, but we had a long drive this weekend to attend out of state wedding and I wanted to listen to something other than music. Downloaded this and it was a success! Kept his attention and I even caught him giggling a few times 😀

1. Books! Finding books I never would have found on my own! I also like seeing what real bookish people are doing/reading.
2. Games. When I came back from a hiatus it seemed like all the posts were about Scare-athon. I had no idea what was going on.
3. Muting hashtags
4. Weekly-ish
5. Occasionally
6. Make it harder to click on hashtags when scrolling. I keep accidentally clicking on them when I‘m looking thru my feed.

ljuliel Thanks for replying. I‘m with you. I was gone for awhile , then when I came back, I noticed things were different in here. It seems to get busy when there‘s a prize involved , but the older members who used to just post about book stuff were missing. I‘m hoping to add more book related questions to get this turned around a bit. I think we have a good chance to get it back into a better place. It‘ll take some work, but it can be done. 2w
Sace ☝️This @ljuliel! And @Hoopiefoot I noticed all the game stuff too. It didn't help that there were two similarly named events going on. That happens often where two different groups are basically doing the same thing but calling it something different. There's always at least one knock off. There's a particularly big knock off here that drives me bonkers. 2w
Sace Ooops.... @Hoopiefoot did you know you can mute hashtags on the website? 2w
See All 6 Comments
Hoopiefoot @ljuliel Absolutely. And it‘s so cool to think that we can help shape the changes we want to see, unlike some other platforms where it feels like we‘re just shouting into the void. Thanks for hosting the survey! 2w
Hoopiefoot @Sace I didn‘t—thanks! I hardly ever use the desktop version so I didn‘t think to try it there. 2w
Sace @Hoopiefoot same for me. I went to the desktop one day for some reason and discovered it. I think the option is under settings? 2w

Why yes, I AM reading this delightful book in my housecoat on the front porch 😀

I have fond memories of my grandmothers wearing housecoats when I was growing up. In moment of nostalgia I bought a housecoat a few years ago and it‘s basically been my favorite thing ever since.

I love getting new library books!

I have a cool work perk in that I can get my library holds delivered to my office. But I realized a few months ago that it meant I NEVER went to the library. I switched things up recently and now pick my holds up at the local library. A tiny bit less convenient, but it‘s really nice to wander the stacks and feel more connected to the community.

I finished this book last night and have to say that it shook me to my very core.

Not quite able to let the book go yet (and I‘m not sure I ever will), so I‘m listening to Philip Glass‘ “Metamorphosis” on repeat this morning. I read that Valeria Luiselli listened to this work while she was writing the book and so it‘s helping me feel more connected to everything.
