I picked up this concept art for work at the LQ auction in 2023. I was already stoked, but then Vo added this sweet card AND sent me a holiday card. I put the art on display, but I can‘t way to integrate it more meaningfully into programming.

3 ⭐ This book was fine. There are many like it available. It reminds kids that they are perfect the way they are, and that everyone is different. It does in the back have some information about Down Syndrome, but it is not really illustrated on the pages, or in the story.

My kids loved the bottom 4 books when they were young and now I'm enjoying reading them to my grandbaby. I saw there's one we don't have but I don't think I'll be buying it. 😬😯💲💲💲

audraelizabeth I agree with @read4life. I never gave much thought to certain kinds of nurses but now i appreciate hospice and memory care nurses so much. 13mo
TheBookHippie @audraelizabeth my years as charge nurse third shift in the locked unit of my dear elderly patients were the most rewarding as a nurse. Long term memory was so real and they would tell stories it was learning live history and the dear ones who could no longer speak could still sing old songs and would just light up upon hearing them. I worked 9/11 and a sweet man said “Is it war, don‘t worry sugar they do end.” He had no idea what year it was. 13mo
audraelizabeth Exactly, my grandpas nurses are now family and hes been gone almost 3 years and they still check in on my grandma even asking her to volunteer with them. 13mo

I get picture books from the #timberlandregionallibrary to read, review, and decide to purchase for my school library. The first thing I noticed about this copy is that the pages were already well loved by someone who needed to hear this story over and over. Or someone was going back and forth once they knew how to break the code. #everybodybook

-I don‘t have a lot of favorites, but Over the Rhine is definitively my favorite music group, and Waking Ned Devine is my favorite movie. Pictured is the scene at the very end when Old Lang Syne is playing 🍻
-Ladybird “Birdie” Sanders is our pandemic pup. We got her from a rescue. She is a pointer, and super quirky. She doesn‘t like when I read as she requires both hands for pets.

JamieArc I have lived in many cool places and done some amazing things. Among them, I lived in Haiti for six months, walked the Camino de Santiago, and really loved living in Tucson. 1y
JamieArc I am a Francophile. I lived and studied in France. I currently teach French for adults and it‘s SO MUCH FUN! 1y
JamieArc I love Lake Michigan, even in winter. Every year for my birthday, on January 7, I go away up north to a place on the lake to some solitude. 1y

JamieArc I left conservative Christianity many years ago and became a Quaker. This means I like silence and social justice, but have always had a fascination with nuns, so I‘m very excited about doing the #nunlit buddy read this year. (edited) 1y

kspenmoll Beautiful photos- and love all that you shared about yourself. What an adventure your life has been so far! 1y
monalyisha I‘ve never seen Waking Ned Divine or listened to Over the Rhine. It sounds like I‘ve got some homework to do! Your pup‘s adorable, I‘m jealous of your travels, and your spiritual journey is definitely of interest. I hope to do some spiritual soul-searching myself this year. 💓 Thanks for sharing! 1y
monalyisha Oh, our birthdays are pretty close, too! Mine is coming up on January 17th. I usually have a quiet birthday but this year we‘re seeing one of our favorite comedians do stand-up. Have you ever seen Joe Pera Talks With You? It‘s so gosh-darn wholesome. 1y
