I first picked up Jane Eyre for a uni course, and I wish we had to read this book as part of it too.

It gave me so much to think about, and while it is a different style and tone to Brontë, I think it helps make the story and the characters of Rochester and “Bertha” that much more interesting.

Finished in a day too, so that‘s a bonus!

KathyWheeler I loved this book and loved getting a story about what might have turned Bertha into the madwoman in the attic. (edited) 2y

What a ride! #ReadInADay #audiobook (excellent narration by original final girl Adrienne King)

Final girl Lynette is scared of the world and pretty much only gets out for final girl support group, where all the 70s and 80s final girls that inspired the movies meet. When someone starts going after these women, Lynette has to decide how to act. Hendrix draws on the best of slasher flicks to create a story all his own. 🤐🤐

dylanisreading Thus sounds right up my alley! 3y
Megabooks @Bianca it was really cool! I love the way he plays on the best of 80s horror. 3y
Cinfhen This sounds SUPER FUN!!!! I‘ll be looking for an audio copy 🥰 3y

Lizpixie Wow, that hit a few challenges! I very much enjoyed this stand-alone YA mystery about three cousins who are invited to the Connecticut Island owned by the rich grandmother they‘ve never met. Secrets & lies come bubbling out of course, but the ending was a surprise which doesn‘t happen often to me. 4.5⭐️ 3y
Clwojick This one sounds great! ❤️ 3y

Another charming regency romance from M.C. Beaton.
#Booked2020 #ReadInADay (Read in less than half a day, actually😆) That completes the Winter prompts. Round up post to follow.
#Bookspinbingo

LeahBergen I recently bought my first Beaton romance. I think you may have read it? 4y
LeahBergen And beautiful teacup! 4y
CarolynM @LeahBergen I think I've read that one, but they're such fluffy little reads it's hard to remember many details, or which book was which. Very enjoyable way to pass a couple of hours, though😉 4y

LeahBergen That‘s good to know. I though the very same when I picked it up and read the back! I‘m the same way with Georgette Heyer books; I‘ve realized that I need to keep a list of the ones I‘ve read. 😆😆 4y
rockpools I had no idea MCB had written regency romances. I might have to look these out. 4y
Lcsmcat I ❤️ your tea cup! 4y

Finished the #Booked2020 #Winter Challenge! Below are my books for each prompt:
1. #milleniallauthor
2. #hatonthecover
3. #liveandlearn (learned about the Rwanda genocide)
4. #setinhollywood
5. #covercrush
6. #readinaday

Daisy Jones and The Girl Who Smile Beads were by far my favorites. The rest were just okay and not ones I would rush to read again or recommend.

Now on to spring!

Very quick listen, fulfils #readinaday for #booked2020

I liked this. It made me a little sad, just thinking about how Keiko and people like her are just shoved out of "normal" society, but I was happy that she embraced who she was at the end. That last conversation with Shiraha's sister in law at the end of the book was just gross ? why would you ever say that to anyone!

Would love to read more by this author, but nothing else is translated!

suvata Loved that book 4y
abookishbutterfly I just saw a BookTuber talk about this today. It sounds like a really good story! 4y
night_shift @suvata it was an easy read! 4y
