Mehso-so

Bk9 of November & Bk2 of #20in4 #readathon is done! I was really looking forward to this one, his first book The Bluffs was brilliant, but I‘m a bit underwhelmed with this one. It started out good but the middle just kinda fell apart before a bit of redemption in the last few chapters. The MC‘s weren‘t written well, it was very chaotic, I expected more honestly. I hate giving so-so reviews🤷🏻‍♀️ #BookspinBingo #Pop21 #PickYourPoison #Pageathon👇

Bk23 of June, Bk16 of #JoysOfJune #readathon & Bk7 of #LittenListen is done! This one was a reread as an audiobook on audible. I love all of Kate Morton‘s books, the fact she‘s an Aussie author doesn‘t hurt either🇦🇺Her sweeping stories always involve a beautiful manor house somewhere in England, sometimes with an Aussie connection. They invoke such a soft English summer feel, far removed from our harsh humid ones here. Loved it. #BookspinBingo👇

rockpools Wow! 23 books this week? That‘s incredible! 3y
Lizpixie @rockpools no lovely, 16 books this week! I‘ve read 23 so far this month👍 I‘m not quite that quick unfortunately.😋 3y

Bk12 of April & Bk2 of #Deweys24hr #readathon is done! As an ebook it‘s also my #doublespin book of April🎉 Wow. This was one crazy story, all the more so coz it‘s true. The blatant crossing of the line where ethics, morality & the law were tossed out the window by the people sworn to uphold it is very disturbing. Not often you feel sorry for the criminals! #NonFictionBingo2021 #PickYourPoison #NerdReading2021 #AussieAuthor21 #CloakDaggerChal 👇

Bk8 of April & Bk5 of #AwesomeApril #readathon is done! My final tally for the readathon wasn‘t quite the 48hrs I was hoping for(damn you migraine!) but I did manage 5 books and crossed off a lot of challenge prompts. And I got my first #bookspinBingo bingo! This anthology of Phryne Fisher short stories was fun, though I‘ve read a few of them already. Love the title🔫 #Booked2021 #NewIn2021 #SeriesRead2021 #HistoricalFiction #AussieAuthor21 👇👇

Bk1 of April is done.Took me a minute to finish this as I kept putting it down to cry or rant about stupid police. There‘s a reason these murders took 25+yrs to solve, the tunnel vision shown by the task force who so believed they had the suspect, they completely ignored any evidence that didn‘t fit their narrative. I was the same age as these 3 girls when they were murdered in Perth in the 90s so it‘s very personal to me. RIP Sarah, Jane & Ciara.

TheAromaofBooks Great review!! 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa I‘ve been ranting about police too this week, for a totally different reason. (I‘ve been watching the Chauvin Trial here in the US)... this book sounds really good, but I‘ll stack it for a later date. 3y

Finishing off both March & my #Booked2021 #Winter quarter with the tagged book as my #BakedGoodsOnCover If you look closely, there‘s a plate of bikkies on her table, so that counts right?☺️ A reread of an Aussie favourite. #Pop21 #PickYourPoison #ReadItAgainSam #HistoricalFiction #AussieAuthor21 #CozyMysteriesChallenge #CloakDaggerChal #Pageathon #BookishBingo #PennyPerPage #250c

Bk13 of March & Bk3 of #20in4 is done! This was an Australian crime thriller about a Sydney GP who after seeing her friend & her children murdered by the husband, becomes a vigilante, killing abusive men & saving their families. Was pretty good though TW for domestic abuse. #Booked2021 #DoctorMC #ReadingWithMaja #LitsyAtoZ2021 #LetterO #AussieAuthor21 #CloakDaggerChal #Pageathon #BookishBingo #PennyPerPage #368c

Bk4 of March is done! This one didn‘t take long at all compared with my last book. It was under 300pgs though & the kind of story that just flies by once you start. It has a bushfire element like my last book, but this was the complete opposite in humour terms, though the end was just as sad. Think I‘ll be reading more of this aussie author. #LitsyAtoZ2021 #LetterA #PennyPerPage #288c #NerdReading2021 #AussieAuthor21 #Pageathon #BookspinBingo

Bk19 of 2021 is done! A true crime about the disappearance of 18yr old Trudie Adams from the Northern Beaches of Sydney in 1978,it was hugely upsetting but very well written & researched. The fact that neither her body or her killer has ever been found is a massive indictment of the police, especially considering the numerous other rapes & abductions in the surrounding years. #Booked2021 #ContainsPhotos #NonFiction2021 #AboutThePast #BookspinBingo👇

Riveted_Reader_Melissa It sounds very good, I usually can‘t read the true life crime books...but this one sounds good. 3y
Cinfhen #stacked I haven‘t read a “good” true crime in awhile 3y
