Book #34: Since books are notoriously better than their movie counterparts, I wanted to wait until all of the Lord of the Rings films finished up in theaters before starting this series. The third movie was released in December of 2003 and so I could get started on the books at any time. I also like to read books in the order that they were meant to be...

shanaqui That looks like a gorgeous edition! 7mo
Jazinator @shanaqui Oh it is. It‘s one of my favorites. I generally like all my books to match so I‘ve been getting the Everyman cloth cover books but this and the LotR books were too pretty to pass up on. 7mo

Had fun finishing this today. I learned a lot about the Queen. I read it for the ATY challenge prompt #34 a book with a person‘s name in the title.

It was so hard to come up with 40 upcoming books in 2019, but I did it! #40in2019TBR

Thanks for doing this really fun and generous giveaway @LibrarianRyan 👏 and happy (early) birthday! 🎉

julesG Is #34 for real? 1y
TheKidUpstairs Well done! I'm working on mine, but I'm only at 26 so far... 1y
ephemeralwaltz Angie Thomas is releasing a new book? 😍 1y

Kalalalatja @julesG ha! As far as I can read, it is about how women‘s sexuality has been used as a tool for men‘s pleasure, and this book is looking at that and how women can reclaim their sexuality. But it is quite a title 😄 1y
Kalalalatja @TheKidUpstairs it was really hard! I have been inspired a lot by all the other lists 👍 @ephemeralwaltz apparantly, it is exciting! 👏 1y
ephemeralwaltz @julesG @Kalalalatja okay that sounds awesome. But I was like whaaaaaat 😂😂 1y
TheKidUpstairs @Kalalalatja yes, I've definitely been grabbing titles off other Littens' lists! I've found some really exciting stuff that way. I had no idea The Seven Sisters was even happening until I saw it on another list! 1y
LibrarianRyan Yeahhhhh. 👍🏻⭐️😁. Great list. 1y
julesG @TheKidUpstairs @ephemeralwaltz - Putting that list together was so hard. I didn't even check out other people's lists. There was a lot of fantasy and young adult and I really had to use my black belt in Google to find anything else. - - I'll have to put #34 on my TBR. - - I totally ignored Angie Thomas. #34 grabbed all my attention. 😂😂😂 1y
TheKidUpstairs @julesG yes, there are so many YA lists online, which is good but I only read so much YA. It's been hard to find Literary Fiction lists! 1y
Kalalalatja @TheKidUpstairs me neither! I didn‘t know about most of these, only some of the YA sequels. @julesG I used other‘s lists, and then checked Goodreads for interesting titles/authors @ephemeralwaltz the title doesn‘t strike you as the title of a feminist book 😂😂 @LibrarianRyan thanks! And thanks for making me plan ahead a bit 😄👏 1y
Kalalalatja Btw @LibrarianRyan did my entry in the google form go through? I didn‘t get a confirmation email, and now I‘m not sure if I sent it or wrote the wrong email address 😅🤦‍♀️ 1y
BookNAround @TheKidUpstairs @julesG I just posted mine with nary a YA title to be found if you need inspiration. 1y
LibrarianRyan @Kalalalatja I didn‘t set it up to give a confirmation email. If tomorrow is another snow day slow day at work I‘ll check it out and tag everyone whose form went through. 1y
Kalalalatja @LibrarianRyan 👍👍👍 1y

#34 "Keep off their grass!"
Joe's dad loves his tacky lawn ornaments. He loves things like pink flamingos and animal family is made out of plaster. But when he brings home two lawn gnomes the trouble begins. Vegetables squashed in the garden, weird sounds at night and other strange things seem to be pointing to the lawn gnomes as the culprits. But they're only fake ornaments aren't they?
