Resuming Tortilla Flats 1,700 miles to the SW from where I started it. Boy, Steinbeck sure likes to pepper his novels with knuckleheads!
Bringing this beauty to AZ with me this weekend.
Some nice finds at the used bookstore. The Steinbeck collection is an original 1953 edition. I love it. Plus, in its pages I found this poem, written in 1962! I wonder if the poem‘s author is still out there somewhere?
Now, that's what I call one well-read book! I hope everyone enjoyed our #SteinbeckShortsReadAlong. I sure did! Thanks to everyone who participated. It was fun reading all the thoughtful comments about these timeless novels.
And only 216 on my to-read list. 🤓
I joined this group a bit late, but I finished my first story this week. Please feel free to jump in with any of the stories that interest you. I'll try to loop back and catch the two I missed earlier this month. Thanks for organizing this @suvata

My book finally came in from the library, so hopefully I'll be able to join in later this week as I finish up some other reads and jump in on book 2!
#SteinbeckShortsReadAlong.
Some of these I read in high school, some I've never read, so it should be interesting!
Being a Virgo I am a perfectionist and, okay, maybe a little OCD. I'm wondering if Penguin ? does this on purpose just to tick people like me off? If so, "Well done, Penguin."
Hint: Compare the book order - cover vs. pages

Got this one because @KennethTolesJr told me that I have to read Of Mice and Men. And I also couldn't help but to get this mischievous little guy. #FantasticBeasts
I'm a big fan of the Penguin Classics Deluxe Editions, and their #deckleedges make them more of a joy to peruse. #feistyfeb #deckleedge
Funny how an author I was forced to read in school has become one I actively seek out as an adult. one day, I should re-read The Grapes of Wrath. I suspect I'll like it better without the spectre of an exam or critical paper at the end.
