The author did a lot of deep research into Dorothy Hale and the Café Society crowd. I respect that. It shows. But there‘s only so much material history about Dorothy to work with, so it felt like most of the book was finding ways to take what little concrete details exist and make the book out of that. We decided to go to a thrift store, because, well, it's what we do. Used books are awesome especially if you get some free. So, the middle and right stacks are from the thrift store. In the same plaza is an Ollie's. It is a discount/closeout store. The stack on the left is from Ollie's. New books at $3 - $4.
