The antagonist was so strange. But the hero and heroine were great. I loved the way they interacted with each other. The romance was sweet in the middle of something pretty twisted. This presented an interesting twist itself. If you like multi-cultural, inspirational suspense romance, then I recommend this book to you. #readmorebooks #suspense #inspirational #romance #multicultural #standalone

Have you read it? I can‘t wait to read book 2.

I‘ve been trying to work my way through Offshore Ambush by Sherri Wilson Johnson. Decided after struggling through 25% that between the predictability and the heroine‘s extreme mood swings that didn‘t make sense to me, it wasn‘t worth the hassle. I hate not finishing a book… #dnf #readmorebooks #keepreading

RobinMcElveenAuthor One thing I did like about this book is the cover. It looks very close to how I pictured the hero. 5d

…And here‘s the rest of my TBR stack for this month. I‘m looking forward to reading these two series since they‘re in my own broad writing genre (fantasy). I‘m still in the middle of Eden, too, but I‘m not the target audience so I‘m struggling to get through it. #readmorebooks #justkeepreading #TBR

I rarely post a TBR list because I‘m often changing my mind about what to read next. So many books… But here‘s what I just added to my stack, as well as my current read. #readmorebooks #readingcommunity #tbr #currentlyreading #suspenseromance

I‘m so excited to start this study in June. It‘s my #2025nfbookchallenge. I always start the year strong with whatever challenge I set for myself. Then comes March… I‘ve been struggling to finish my nonfiction choices, but I‘m pretty sure that won‘t be the case here. I loved the documentary which brought out some excellent discussions. #readmorebooks #nonfiction #spirituallife

I‘m not sure how this one will go. The premise sounded interesting. I also think the cover is nice. It‘ll be fun, I hope, to read another fantasy novel. #justkeepreading #readmorebooks #yafantasy #cleanreads

A Surprise Harvest Bride by Wendy Klopfenstein turned out to be a lovely novella! I was so happy to find a new author to check out. This book was sweet, clean historical romance. I loved the characters and the steady plot. The MCs actions were believable and the heroine‘s determination was inspiring. #readmorebooks #historicalromance #cleanread #ReadingCommunity

I‘m starting this book today by Wendy Klopfenstein. It doesn‘t have an ISBN, so I‘m hoping it‘ll still count toward my Goodreads reading goal. #readmorebooks #ReadingCommunity #historicalromance

I tried. I really did. And since I‘m looking for new-to-me authors, I hoped to find another favorite author to follow. This book could definitely have been worse. The content was pleasant enough in general. It was clean up to the 30% mark. I even kinda liked one of the secondary characters. (Continued in comments) #dnf #readmorebooks

RobinMcElveenAuthor But the weird outbursts of passion and anger, and the blatant disregard for historical accuracy really threw me off. The dialogue wasn‘t terrible, but again, some of the words/phrases were too modern. I just felt bummed. There‘s potential here, but as it is right now, I‘ll have to pass. 3w
RobinMcElveenAuthor One other major issue which I forgot to mention (dunno how…🤦‍♀️) was the incessant POV flipping. I kept up, but that would throw someone like my youngest. 3w

My husband and I read this one together. We really enjoyed it and found it helpful, encouraging, and insightful. If you‘re looking for a book to learn more about grace, what it is, and what it means for the Christian, then I highly recommend you check this book out. I originally chose it because I enjoy listening to the author‘s podcast, Things Unseen. I recommend that, too.
