Walking and reading… yep. I bought the digital copy so that I can take it with me everywhere! 🥰
Walking and reading… yep. I bought the digital copy so that I can take it with me everywhere! 🥰
Well, I finished reading ACOTAR and I‘m ready to read book 2. I‘m not sure about Rhysand but I‘m also not sure about Tamlin. I do like Feyre, though. #acotar #sarahjmaas
Well, Rhysand was finally introduced. I‘m not sure how I feel about him. I‘m reading the digital version of the book so I‘m up to page 250. #acotar #sarahjmaas
I (finally) caved and started the ACOTAR series.. and i am amazed it took me this long to read. I absolutely loved it! This had me branching out into the fantasy/romantasy genre. It almost reminded me of an adult fairytale - (Beauty and the Beast -esque). Can‘t wait to start the next book in the series ☺️
I finally jumped on the wagon. I was worried because from what I gathered, the story was spice driven, but I'm pleased to say it's not. I'm not against spice as long as it's not the whole point of the book. And this is not that. Already several hours deep in the next one and on the edge of my seat. If anyone wants to rant with me without spoilers please message me! Also: I always love Jennifer Ikeda ❤️
I told myself after reading Crescent City 3 that I didn‘t need to read ACOTAR. I decided to just read the first few pages yesterday and now I am 54 pages into it. I like Feyre so far. #ACOTAR #SarahJMaas #acourtofthronesandroses

I love it when fantasy novels add a map -helps me to visualize the story better.

I don‘t know what I‘m Getting myself into but trying! Was told my a friend to read this before Crescent City so here I go!
Once again, I think being a “serious” high fantasy reader impacted my enjoyment of a widely enjoyed title. For me, this had a pretty formulaic throughline (3 tests, a riddle, etc.) and not enough real plot. I especially would‘ve liked less time spent on the front end and establisment of Tamlin and Feyre‘s relationship, and a less rushed approach to the “big bad” at the end of the book.
I've never been one to broaden my horizons. I know what I like, and I usually will stay in my comfort zone given the chance.
I took a chance on this book, putting it to the top of my christmas list last year. How could I not when my best friend recommended to me.
It's perfect, it's everything I LOVE in a book. Fantasy, romance, suspense. ACOTAR is a massive page turner. I am so happy to be a part of this world!! #ACOTAR #fantasy #sarahjmaas
I really wish I could have read it without out so many series spoilers hanging out in the back of my mind (honestly, so much bookish content on Insta is both a blessing & a curse), but I enjoyed it. Also, love any excuse to discuss magic lore & handsome faeries with my gal pals. Our book club sticks mostly to literary fiction, so it‘s nice to take a break from real-world heavy topics & giggle over fae, fantasy & spicy escapism once in a while.
Graphic Audio
I listened to the graphic audio of this and boy it was good. Like watching a movie without the actual screen. I had no problem picturing it in my mind though. The end of last year and so far this year I have been stepping out of my comfort zone and trying a different genre of book and audio. While I listen to the book I also read along with my physical copy or ecopy. What a way to read. It's been so much fun....
Buddy reads seem to keep me reading lately, which I‘m happy about. This series might be what breaks my slump. Good pacing, amazing world, and Feyre is a kick-a** MC. It‘s fantasy enough to keep genre fans happy, but not so high-fantasy to intimidate new readers.
And all that being said. I think I‘m already Team Rhys. Tamlin had his alpha persona crushed too badly in this.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a re-read.
I had a hard time getting into this series the first time. I read Throne of Glass first, and this one just doesn't compare, in my opinion.
However, I do still love this series. Feyre is such a strong character. I love that she did whatever it took to take care of her family, even though they were all the worst. They did not appreciate her at all. None of the characters really jumped out at me, except Rhys, obvs.
Despite buying this right when it came out…I just read it. Why did I wait so long? No idea. Am I glad I finally *get* the hype, yes. #lennox #catsoflitsy
Does anyone else read with a music soundtrack in the background?! Perfect vibes when it matches the theme/plot!
Loving ACOTAR so far!! Suffering from a bad concussion so I'm only able to read for a few minutes at a time if I'm lucky. Not good when all I want to do is read this amazing book! 😭😞
I finally got around to reading this book. It was good - I understand the hype! I liked the characters, action, and storyline. I will keep reading the series
“don‘t marry Tomas Mandray. His father beats his wife, and none of his sons do anything to stop it.” Nesta‘s eyes widened, but I added, “Bruises are harder to conceal than poverty.” Whew! This is good good.
Love Feyre, Tamlin, Rhys, Lucien, Alis, Nesta and Elain - looking forward to getting to know all of these characters better! Love the world created in this story - looking forward to learning more about it as well.

I LOVED ACOTAR! OMG. I wrote a book review over on my goodreads. Can't wait to get to ACOMAF. ❤️🥀
My elder kid read this around age 13, but delayed recommending it to me because it was kind of embarrassing to know that you and your mom are reading the same sexy book. Admittedly, it's much easier for me to talk about this novel with my 18-year-old than it would have been 5 years ago. The book itself is fine, enjoyable but not earth-shattering. A little disappointing that it's a bunch of dudes in charge of fairyland, though.
I'm listening to this audiobook, and every time they mention the Night Court, this is what I picture. I don't think Maas intends Rhysand to look like Harry Anderson.
Exactly what I imagined it would be- not super well-written or particularly original but weirdly compelling. Will probably read more.
First attempt at a beaded barrette while listening to the tagged book this morning. The original plastic thing covering this barrette just snapped the other day, so I popped it off and used the opportunity to try out beading with pony beads and wire I had leftover from my children's many abandoned craft interests. I'm a little stuck on rainbows lately, so here we are.
To paraphrase Pooh, "My beading is Wobbly. It's good beading, but it Wobbles."
Y‘all- it‘s happened…. I‘ve fallen into the SJM rabbit hole and it‘s all I can think about.
The beginning was a bit slow but WOW the end will get ya hooked. 3.5⭐️
This month is 1 year in our new home. We decided to spend the day solo, cooking & decorating the tree. Resting! For my own holiday mental health, I felt I needed the nostalgic smells of my families traditions in this home. No one is close, everyone is spread out. And the thought of coming home to a cold empty house was a bummer! Rereading ACOTAR after 8 years, and finally continuing the series to fill the Iron Flame hole in my ❤️ Happy 🦃 Litsy!
I went into this book with lower expectations, having strayed away from this genre as I got older. But it was actually pretty good, a lot happens, the protagonist can be pretty badass. It wasn‘t as sexual as I heard it was, if I remember correctly there was only 2 sex scenes that were pretty tame. I would recommend this book to anyone who has enjoyed this genre in the past but hasn‘t read it in awhile!
I‘m obsessed with this. I wanted more so badly, that I actually paid for the second book in the series. Which I absolutely NEVER do (unless I‘m at strand ofc). But um, yeah. Loved.
It took me a long time to get into the story and to care about the characters, but I must say I'm sold! I enjoyed the multiple twists and also the entire last part. In most stories like this, the first book only focusses on the move to the new home and the falling in love part, so the whole Amarintha part was unexpected and fun to read! Didn't really care too much about the characters, but at least they weren't completely cliché!

#ScarathlonPhotoChallenge #Day29 #Trick No Trick in title books either, so I chose this as Tamlin tries to trick Feyre into falling in love to save the Fey. #Scarathlon #SpookyGhostClub 6pts
Slow world building, yet once it got going it got Going. Beauty and Beast fantasy world of fae turn torture and (not as) spicy as everybody says. Are moments, but not as much as expected based off it being know for being spicy. Like Lucien side character with his snark and straightforwardness. Feyre and Tamlin are an interesting combination. Balance each other decently. Hope for more of that bickering. That‘s the good stuff.
The forest had become a labyrinth of snow and ice.
I‘d been monitoring the parameters of the thicket for an hour, and my vantage point in the crook of a tree branch had turned useless.

I enjoyed the book, although the middle was really slow, I became hooked at about 70%. However, I am still not too crazy about it. The story was different, there is fantasy and adventure. The romance built weirdly and almost expectedly. There are some interesting characters but overall the book seemed lacking and left me wanting more. I would have enjoyed it more as a movie.
Listening to the tagged book. So far I really dont care much for it but I will give it time.
This picture is actually someone's art (tumbler: rosiethorns88) from Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber but I think both these series are similar. Can anyone tell me which one is better? Should I keep going with A Court of ...?
So far the first one was like beauty and the beast with a twilight ending and a lot of torture. I was expecting a little more sexual tension rather than straight up physical torture and killing.
So I am not a person that does audio books and I know for a fact that the only reason I could keep this one straight was because I‘ve read it more than once and know the story.
That being said OMG this was freaking AMAZING!!!!!!!! A+ need to listen to it again!! I have already finished book two and am onto book three. That is just how good these are!
I'm seldom into fantasy novels, but this series has me absolutely hooked. Sleepless and addicted! The author's ability to make each character personal, relatable, and exquisitely unique is so refined. The sexual tension, battle scenes, the doubt and faith that flicker and fade among the cast is breathtaking. This is truly the first time I've wept when an important character dies. The first! Two more books to go before I complete the series. ❤️
