December is already getting away from me. #novemberwrapup was 9 books, all rereads except for 3 & a half. Some audiobooks, some ebooks, all very enjoyable. Of course, my favorite was American Gods because that's my favorite book.

Finished American Gods for #AuthorAMonth. I've lost count of how many times I've read this one. It's the absolute best.
@Soubhiville
1. Tagged! Rereading it for the umpteenth time in honor of #AuthorAMonth
2. “There‘s something wrong,” said Wednesday. “Fuck. Jesus fucking Christ on a bicycle."
3. Coffee per usual.

I‘ve been reading in bed literally all day 🥰🍷📖

Day 3 - a little bit of magic, a whole lot of drama (and my giant hand)
Ready to know what's all the fuss is about?

Wasn't sure how I'd feel about my first foray into Neil Gaiman. Fantastic story. Excellent mythology. Glad I took the jump.
Not sure how many times I've read this. Gaiman is the only writer whose books I read more than once. Mostly.

Congratulations on 250,000!! Thank you so much for this generous giveaway!! I love Etsy!! Also I couldn‘t really choose my fave read but this made the top for the summer!! 💕👏💕
Finally got around to reading this book. My roommates buddy read it with me so we can watch the show. As usual Gaiman steals your heart and captures your attention with stunning imagery. Full of great characters, locations, and mythology.
#bfc update! Made my walk goal for the week even tho it was a heat wave of doom! Got 2 out of 3 yoga days I need to work on this! Finished 1 book and 3 graphic novels. Today I was gonna hike but ended up visiting bishops castle. Sort of counts as a hike right? Look at this beauty! Current read is tagged! Keep up the great work y‘all! Loved seeing all your beautiful faces !! 😻😘💕👏

Well, I‘ve finally completed one book for my #friendrecchallenge. Unfortunately, I can‘t say I enjoyed it much. I can feel my boyfriend‘s disappointment already and I haven‘t even told him yet. 😅 I wanted to like this, but I was honestly bored through most of it. The story seemed to ramble, and I never really felt invested in what was happening.

Book group tonight was fun as always-I didn‘t finish the book (it‘s not my thing) but I never turn down a chance to go to Fiddler‘s. The menu is almost as fun as the place!
About 175 pages into this book and just realizing I should have picked up this books years ago. Fantastic so far
1. American Gods by Neil Gaiman
2. I very rarely listen to podcasts. I think the Eclectic Readers podcast was the most recent, but it‘s been quite a while, so I‘m not sure.
3. Stories of Your Life and Others by Ted Chiang

“The best thing about being in prison was a feeling of relief. The feeling that he'd plunged as low as he could plunge and he'd hit bottom. He didn't worry that the man was going to get him, because the man had got him. He was no longer scared of what tomorrow might bring, because yesterday had brought it.”

Bf: Have you started reading American Gods yet?
Me: No, I‘m waiting on my hold. Still three weeks left.
Bf: Oh... Well, it‘s a good book. Let‘s just buy it.
Me: Okay 😂👌🏽

4 ⭐ I loved the build up to the battle. This is not something I would normally read, but I am glad I did. The concept of this story was genius.
May is always a busy month for us. I have less than 120 pages away from finishing American Gods. So close to meeting the may deadline, but it just didn't happen.
Couldn't resist these two at B&N today. The only two of Gaiman's novels I've never owned, good excuse to read them for the n'th? time.

My early morning reading companions, #eyrethecalico #atticus2016. Not seen #Alabamaslife in my lap. I love quiet morning reading, when my four legged fam is chill, and my babies are still in their beds.
What an adventure!
I went back and forth with how many stars to give American Gods because it is lengthy and some parts were perhaps unnecessary. However, that ending secured the four star rating.
Shadow is released from prison and just as he thinks he is about to return home to his wife, he learns of her passing from a fatal car accident. His life takes a huge turn when he meets Mr. Wednesday.
Loved the aspect of the new gods vs old gods!
So I think my girl likes the book 🤣
Meet Phoenix Embers, ain‘t she special? 😍 🐍
In terms of the novel, I‘m enjoying it. I‘m still a little confused, but it‘s a weird book! So no surprise there! For people who have watched the TV series, the novel is far, far better!

2. Camping with my son's friends and families to celebrate Memorial Day, and his 10th birthday.

I love when I read a book and I know exactly where they are talking about. El Paso, Peru, Cairo, all towns in Illinois I have been to. Throw in Madison Wisconsin for good measure. It always makes a picture more clear. #Illinoisianhere #ilovetinytowns
Getting back into reading has reminded me of something very special.
I love books so much, I re-read each sentence again and again...
Because I have OCD 🤦♀️🤣
Getting through this may take a little longer than expected considering I‘m actually a quick reader 😅
Wish me luck!!
Finally found time to pick this beast back up and I‘m not disappointed! As much as I love my studies, it‘s so nice to be able to read some fiction rather countless books on zoology and statistics!
Any recommendations for my next read? I feel like a bit of Stephen King maybe... 🧐💙
I swear we spend more time in the dentist than anywhere else. #waitingroomreading #notarandomkid #myson
This is my book review for #americangods. I‘m considering watching the tv show to see how different it is from the book.
Due to rain (again), we have had a very chill day. We played an enchanted forest board game, ran around the stars on the rug, and now we are relaxing in our own ways. For my daughter that means watching movies on her tablet while wearing a Rudolph nose on her head. 🤣
Brilliant. I love this thing more every time I read it. The full cast audiobook is a great experience as well, if you get the chance. I love the brutal honesty about myth and the history of the beliefs that have come down to us through the generations. Meaningful but also just one hell of a good ride.
This book makes you question morality and sin, love and forgiveness, devotion and obligation. It makes you think about what separates us from our roots and from each other. It makes you question whether the world is changing too fast and too much.
Neil Gaiman is a master story teller. Neil is also a gifted orator, and if you get a chance to listen to this audio book you get a chance to truly appreciate it, as he reads some of the book himself.
Shadow Moon and the old gods #ComeTogether against the new gods in an epic, cross country, genre bending adventure. Plus, this entire song could describe Wednesday pretty well. 😆
#BeatleMaynia @Eggs
I prioritized this book on my shelf because I wanted to see the Amazon series by the same name. This book boarders on epic- god characters, road trip, mystery, more gods; the list goes on. And just when the story feels like it‘s slowing down, Gaiman reaches into whatever god pantheon he cares to to give us cool new characters and wicked little plot twists. Pretty much the genius of this book
