I‘m finally seeing The Cursed Child today!
Loving it so far! Special effects = magic
Calling all Potter fans! If you will be in the San Francisco area on the 16th and 17th of January 2020, I have two tickets to the stage play (8 pm performances) to give away. My husband and I were going to go but can‘t and the tickets are non-refundable. If you want the tickets (read FREE) email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. With hufflepuffy love, Paula The Tickets have been claimed!!! So happy they will be used π€
Finally read this play and was very underwhelmed and unimpressed. It all felt very hasty, pointless, and lacking in character development. I did like some aspects of it, primarily the time traveling, but it‘s really not good. Honestly feels like a cash grab trading on a famous name. #catsoflitsy #kittensoflitsy #petsoflitsy #klausthekitten
#wintergames #the filthy animals #24B42020 Spent a great βdayβ reading these three from my TBR list. I didn‘t really enjoy βAn Anonymous Girlβ - the story didn‘t capture me and the characters fell flat. I adored Alice in Wonderland, illustrated by Salvador Dali (simply stunning.) The Cursed Child was great and I‘m seeing the stage play in January so I wanted to re-read the book! What a great way to close out 2019!
Today was one of those very fantastic days, where real life is paused and a new, magical world awaits. We spent the majority of our day in a theater, watching Part I and Part II of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and it was exceptional. The stage design, production, and illusions were breathtaking. The cast disappeared, transformed, and flew, and the time-travel effects were a treat.
It‘s a really quick read that made me miss the length and detail of the original series. Entertaining but not a required read.
Super excited I made it through play #1. Super fun to see on stage with all the magic and clever theatrics. Also a great story about friendship and family and most of all acceptance. π§π»ββοΈLol and lots of people in costume representing their Hogwart‘s houses.
Author: J.K Rowling
When I started the book: Oct 18
When I finished the book:
the trolley witch... what WAS that!?? lolololol what a ridiculous scene
i‘ve heard terrible things about this one but that‘s never stopped me before lol maybe i‘ll treat it as a fan fic ? π€ is this cannon? did anybody out there read or go see the play, if so, what did u think?
Setting a record today for fastest-read HP book. I have snacks. I have my audio. I‘m ready! π€¨π
πΆ It‘s the most wonderful time of the year... Dunkin‘ is back with #pumpkin flavored everything!! ππ
A pumpkin iced coffee & a coffee cake muffin & a #HarryPotter book. Life is great (besides the Hurricane Dorian warning π ).
Wrapping up the (now defunct?) #HPBuddyRead through audio!! I read this one last December, so it‘s pretty fresh to reread. Figured that listening to it would at least make it feel newer π§
I didn‘t feel like this was official HP canon, but more like fan fiction. π€·π»ββοΈ Let‘s see if a second go changes my mind!
My husband Alex, who I have been with since the age of 14 (& we are now 27 and married!) organised tickets for us to see Harry Potter & the Cursed Child. Since Harry Potter was published, I fell in love. The writing, the characters, the events, the love story...the magic. Alex organised tickets to watch the theatre production and it was a masterpiece. I‘m so thankful for the authors & my amazing husband Alex for loving it just as much as I do π₯°π

Guess where @WanderingBookaneer and I are right now!
Not what I would expect from the brilliant Harry Potter series. You can read my review at strsngebrewbookreviews.blogspot.com
@MoonWitch94 you were my #summerreadingswap partner. You will receive two packages one tomorrow and one Saturday from amazon marked as gifts but I didn‘t right on them. I am sick but wanted to get your swap out on time. My apologies. I think I only signed it stephanie. πI hope you enjoy your packages!
As much as I disliked the reading of this play the actual production was amazing! The sets, lighting design, choreography, costumes...it's unbelievable!
I‘m late to reading this one, but I can say I‘m genuinely surprised of how much I loved it. I heard a lot of bad reviews, but honestly it was incredible reading about Harry as a father and the flaws and struggles that came with it (still not regretting a Harry Potter tattoo π) 8/2019 #harrypotter #theater
I didn‘t know how much I loved this until I saw it live
I‘m not going to survive this reread. I am crying already.
In the Modern Fantasy novel you spend way more time in Harry‘s world. The book is seen more so in a script format and basically states that even things that are being done for the right reasons can still go horribly wrong. The book is a very good Literature circle group, kids can discuss in a small group format the book and how they felt about it. The UDL strategy is 3.2 and the ESOL strategy is 10. Teach think, pair and share strategies in
I spent the weekend in Melbourne for a family event and did lots of shopping and exploring !
Since the play is on at the Princess Theatre right now they have a pop up Harry Potter bar in the city and it was so much fun π more pics to come ! #harrypotter #melbourne #popup β‘οΈβ‘οΈ
I‘m giving it a so-so because it‘s not really necessary to the Harry Potter world. I thought it was quite shallow compared to the other books, but that could be because it is a play. It just felt like a fan fiction instead of an actual Harry Potter.I did feel it is a guilty pleasure book where a part of me does like the book and did think the story was alright. I wish a novel version would be released instead of just the play.
