Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts I & II (Special Rehearsal Edition)
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts I & II (Special Rehearsal Edition): The Official Script Book of the Original West End Production | J.K. Rowling , John Tiffany, Jack Thorne
Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, a new play by Jack Thorne, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. The play will receive its world premiere in London's West End on 30th July 2016. It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn't much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and father of three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

As much as I disliked the reading of this play the actual production was amazing! The sets, lighting design, choreography, costumes...it's unbelievable!

I‘m late to reading this one, but I can say I‘m genuinely surprised of how much I loved it. I heard a lot of bad reviews, but honestly it was incredible reading about Harry as a father and the flaws and struggles that came with it (still not regretting a Harry Potter tattoo 😂) 8/2019 #harrypotter #theater

In the Modern Fantasy novel you spend way more time in Harry‘s world. The book is seen more so in a script format and basically states that even things that are being done for the right reasons can still go horribly wrong. The book is a very good Literature circle group, kids can discuss in a small group format the book and how they felt about it. The UDL strategy is 3.2 and the ESOL strategy is 10. Teach think, pair and share strategies in

DrSpalding This description just not tell me that you thoroughly read the book, which I am sure you did. Wrong #.Scholastic is a High-quality website. 2mo

Mehso-so

I‘m giving it a so-so because it‘s not really necessary to the Harry Potter world. I thought it was quite shallow compared to the other books, but that could be because it is a play. It just felt like a fan fiction instead of an actual Harry Potter.I did feel it is a guilty pleasure book where a part of me does like the book and did think the story was alright. I wish a novel version would be released instead of just the play.

Does anybody else read ahead or check the internet to see if their suspicions are correct then move on in the book to see how it all plays out? I‘ve been doing that a lot with book 8 mainly because I feel as if this story so far had been a lot more shallow than books 1-7.

Not many people enjoyed this...out of those that I‘ve talked to. Of course nothing beats the classic series itself, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was entertaining to read. You get a chance to see where the past characters are now, and a story to follow of their children.

Comment down below if you liked this book or not!

Bklover I think the problem I had with this one is it made me very nervous. The whole time I read it I was worried that it would ruin my mental image of “after the books”. Sometimes it‘s more fun to leave some things to your imagination. Having said that, I did enjoy it 🤨😉 3mo

The fantastic Imogen Heap was at my office today to chat about making the music for HP and the Cursed Child, her upcoming tour (which I have a ticket to!!), and her love of the intersectionality of music and tech. While this book didn‘t go much into the magic, as a big HP fan, it was fun to revisit some of the old Wizarding World characters and meet some new ones. While I did like the insights into the adult lives of the original trio, I would love to read more about Scorpius and Albus (don‘t think it requires another book though)! The play format wasn‘t off-putting at all! It read just like a book. But, I wouldn‘t consider this the “eighth story.” 4/5⚡️

KatieDid927 I read the book when it came out and just saw the play this year. You‘re right on the page there isn‘t as much magic but it‘s definitely all there on stage. The book itself really doesn‘t capture what is happening on stage, it‘s incredible. 6mo
laur89 @KatieDid927 I feel like this play would be incredibly stunning to watch! The visuals were probably amazing 6mo
