It was my youngest son‘s, Beckett, birthday on Saturday & we went out for dinner 2. Orange Shirt Day aka Truth & Reconciliation, the next generation knows all the facts ??? 3. French Café Lego : C‘est bonne 4. First real art lesson this year inspired by indigenous artist and autumn 5. Taylor

1. Went biking with the fam for the 1st time (haven‘t biked since I was a kid, other than those tandem bike/cart things you ride in a group). I enjoyed it so much, can‘t wait to go again.

#5joysfriday it‘s been a week 1. We packed up Gunnar, our oldest for Teachers College 2. Lakehead U in Thunder Bay, his grandpa‘s hometown and alma matter 3. T Bay has a big Finnish/Swedish population so breakfast at a Finnish restaurant was a must 4. Visiting John‘s nanny and grandpa‘s grave 5. Memorial for Terry Fox where his Marathon of Hope ended with heartbreak ❤️‍🩹

#5joysfriday this week has flown by 😢 1. Last weekend we were at my in laws‘ cottage which is a double edged sword, it‘s beautiful, they are a handful but floating in the lake is my favourite 2. Stopping at Webers for hamburgers is a summer tradition to or from the cottage 3. A fresh manicure always brings joy, it‘s hard to believe I bit my nails for decades 4. Audio books while painting = joy 5. Today is John‘s birthday; he‘s mostly a joy 😉

The Globe is printing a pic everyday from The Beaverbrook‘s collection, I read The Frame-Up to my class a few years ago and it is set in The Beaverbrook art gallery - it‘s a great middle grade novel 4. Finally started my basement glow up 5. Summer Shakespeare last night was an LGBTQ reimagining of Romeo & Juliet ❤️👏🏻🎉

#5joysfriday and just like that it‘s august 🤯 July is such a sweet summer month that stretches on and on, august feels abrupt to me with real life right around the corner. My joys this week 1. My garden, when wildlife doesn‘t make me lose my shit 2. A cookbook I got for my birthday filled with salads - I made the first recipe last night ( fun fact: I write in my cookbook; when I make the recipes, did we like them) 3. July reading wrap up ⬇️

I finished Lego Sunflowers and it‘s better than I thought it could be 5 all the memes about the outed affair at the Coldplay concert, not even Coldplay knew how relevant they could be with the right marketing 🤷🏻‍♀️😆

He also made homemade lemonade 🍋 (which is joy in a glass) to drink with my new book 4. My coneflowers are in bloom ( I love the colours so much and I saved these from the rabbits 🤬) 5. We went to the beach this week to visit friends from Denmark and a highlight is always a sunset

Summer holidays kicked off with leaks in our storage unit and from our A/C but in both cases we got amazing prompt help and this meme made me laugh so joy was found 4. I was able to get a Jane Austen Lego gwp off FB marketplace 🥰 5. Today is our anniversary- 27 years of us 🥂

Memes that make me feel seen 3 lunch with a friend who is thinking about moving back when she retires 🤞🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 4 tonight we see an adaptation of P & P and I‘m so excited 5. Yesterday was Happy Meal Day and I treated my sister and my son to some happiness and Diet Coke

1. So many restaurants in Naples! First up is Turtle Club, feet in the sand and view of the Gulf of Somewhere. That‘s hubby Norm and a turtle carved in a bench “Welcome to our paradise “
2. Banana bread French toast at Baleen‘s, also at the beach.
3. There‘s a fig jam and goat cheese burger nestled between the chips at Brooks Burgers.
4. Mango shrimp and crispy duck to die for.
5. Off to Charleston with the kiddos.

I was gifted a jewelry chest and I‘ve been sorting my beads into it ( composite jewelry like pandora, I‘ve got multiple brands and too much) 4. My sister bought me a custom coaster for my Diet Coke 5. Homemade pizza is the best

#5joysfriday why do short weeks sometimes feel longer? I‘ve worked 2 weeks straight in grade 1 and I‘m exhausted 🥱 random joys 1. I voted early 2. Puppy visit with Griz 3. The magnolia is having a MOMENT 4. My niece and I having matching manicures 5. My oldest left last night to work at a YMCA camp in Alberta for 6 weeks. An exciting and a bit nerve wracking new challenge for him. I‘m full of joy for him taking risks

Nothing major happened this week but it‘s still nice to practice gratitude, it‘s the simple things that matter anyway

1. My fur babies (my dog Luna too, but I didn‘t get any photos of her this week)
2. A brand new journal
3. Stickers for said journal
4. Going for walks
5. Missed quite a bit of CrossFit last week and early this week but was able to jump back in yesterday
