Told mostly in the POV of Abbie (2.0), the cobot Tim created in his wife Abbie‘s image, we watch as she learns and grows in her role as replacement Abby. She soon appears to become sentient, and sets upon figuring out what happened to the real Abbie.

I really enjoyed this novel. It‘s full of suspense &small twists. There were times I felt there was little too much info dump. But overall it was a book that I found hard to put down. 3.75⭐️s

It took me awhile to get into this one. Maybe it was all the tech talk. The ending was surprising, though. Definitely liked the author‘s previously novels better.

This book had me guessing so much! I thought I knew what was going on at certain times and it turned out I was so wrong! This book was plot twist after plot twist and it was a rollercoaster! I love JP Delaney‘s books because they are so good! I can‘t wait to find out what‘s in store with the next book!

Delicious lunch followed by my last event for the #offtheshelf festival 2019.
Campfire beans, I‘m a sucker for anything savoury that is baked, with beans or eggs or suchlike.
Then a conversation with Danuta Kot and JP Delaney about their most recent books, writing process and more.

So, I read J. P. Delaney's other 2 books and really liked them. This one not so much. To me it wasn't written as good as the other ones. It was just meh for me.

Well, this seemed creepy all the way through to me! I had a feeling there was more to Tim than met the eye and I actually really liked cobot Abbie. The ending was very clever... I had a little cheer for the goodies! I would‘ve liked to know more about the secondary characters, Lisa, jenny and Charles, but I guess the point was that they were secondary to the intensity of Abbie and Tim. Definitely worth reading, much like the others from Delaney.

Great story. The ending is not foreshadowed and it will make you think. If you liked Delaney‘s “The Girl Before “ this one is even better. Highly recommended.

Y‘all, I need some answers. Not sure I understand the ending and need someone to discuss. I am pretty sure this book was written by Blake Crouch and not Delaney 😜

Mayvne and I are listening to The Perfect Wife right now, and we are about an hour and a half from the end... And it's getting so crazy good that we are putting the rest of our life on hold until we finish. She already told me she won't be satisfied until she hears how it ends... So I can hardly disappoint a cute little face like hers!! 😂💖 #puppiesoflitsy

3 ☆ The Perfect Wife delves into artificial intelligence which was interesting but scary to think if this would ever happen. I loved JP Delaney‘s two prior novels but alas, is not the case with this latest. I‘m in the minority here so please don‘t let my rating detour you from picking this up.

JP Delaney has earned a solid 5 stars from me for all of his books! (Under this name)! Even though this one has a bit of sci-fi, it still delivers a solid domestic psych thriller! I am not a sci-fi person AT ALL, but this one sucks you in!

This book started out really strong and then dragged near the middle and the end was just ok.

I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I love technology and I love how artificial intelligence (AI) has already improved our society. And I thought I would love this book. But instead I struggled with it. The story, while a little intriguing just didn‘t work for me. It seems to just fold back on itself. https://www.bluestockingreviews.com/post/the-perfect-wife

Litsians - this is one of those books we will be chatting about because it‘s unusual, weird, freaky and it brings up a whooooole bunch of current events/issues/talking points. Don‘t read MUCH about it but I hope you‘ll check out my whole review and share your opinions! ScrappyMags.com

BookishTrish I read an ARC and I‘m curious if the ending changed in the final edit. How did it end? 3mo
ScrappyMags @bookishTrish this was the ARC so karma came around full circle on Tim 3mo
Kappadeemom I just finished and have questions. I don‘t understand the ending at all. Half the time I couldn‘t figure out if the character was AI or Abbie and at the end was there a fake Tim or did I blink? I‘m confused. 2mo
ScrappyMags @Kappadeemom exactly... the whole time the person “helping her” was an AI Tim that wanted to get rid of Tim to take him! Sorry I haven‘t been on here! Lol 2mo

Thanks, #NetGalley for the chance to read Delaney‘s third thriller! This suspenseful read has two different perspectives that at first take some getting used to- from the second-person “you” in one half, to “we” in the other, from an unnamed source... the pages are easy to keep turning and I felt at the edge of my seat for most of the book! It‘s unique for the genre, and fast-paced. Highly recommended!!

I think this is book 5 of #bookFitnessChallenge. @wanderinglyn I haven't been doing a good job keeping track, but it has still been fun being a part of the challenge nonetheless.

4.5 stars I love Delaney. The premise of this idea was mind-blowing; it seemed unimaginable until I read the author's note. My only criticism was the very end, as I found it such a smooth read until then. I recommend to all psychological thriller fans.

This book is about a robotics entrepreneur genius who creates a robotic replica of his wife once she goes missing presumed dead. I am not normally into robotic type things and thought I may struggle with this book a bit but nope I was swept up into the plot until the very last page. An interesting look at one man's desperation to have the perfect wife and one mother's desperation to save her child. Deliciousy creepy hard and to put down

RadicalReader Love JP Delaney books the first one I had read was the Girl Before and was anxiously awaiting the next novel from this masterful writer 6mo

BookishTrish @wintercherry That‘s a fair point. The ending was not great. I wonder if they‘ll change it in the final edit? 6mo

A new science fiction novel centered on the potential of artificial intelligence.

Abbie wakes up five years after an accident only to discover she had died and her husband brought her back in the form of a robot who looks like her original person... but is he telling her the full truth?

Over this past decade, I can actually see this as reality!

Thank you to NetGalley for this advanced copy of The Perfect Wife in exchange for an honest review.

Jerdencon I just finished this one too - was definitely interesting and suspenseful but I think I got a little lost with the AI stuff. 9mo
KristenDuck @Jerdencon that‘s why I would definitely categorize it more for sci-fi. 9mo
