I have officially been reading too many creepy books and need to do a palate cleanser 😂 This book...damn. If you like haunted houses, I highly recommend this. I'm gonna pause for a few hours!

Definitely going to try to knock out some #scarathlon points for #TeamBOOklovers with this one.

New book review up!
In this episode, I review, "Kill Creek" by Scott Thomas!
https://youtu.be/u2RK6vsJ_zQ
This book was very in the middle for me. I felt like most of the characters were unlikable, and the book ran on for way longer then needed. It would have been better if it would have been cut, to make a faster paced read. 3/5
Thank you so much @Johanna414 🎃✨🖤📖💜 I am so excited to read these two awesome selections! And the card is so cute & made me laugh 😉 I shared my candy with friends who came over today—-mistakes were made! 😂🤣 Thank you & #HappyHalloween! 👻
Special thanks to @MaleficentBookDragon for organizing this fun swap! #AllHallowsReadSwap
This is an interesting twist on the haunted house genre. A social media maven convinces four leading horror authors to spend Halloween in an abandoned, supposedly haunted house to participate in a viral media and interview event.
One of the four writers is Sam, a man who is haunted and plagued with guilt over a dark incident that occurred in his childhood.
I most enjoyed the unique and detailed personalities of the four authors! 3.5/5
As soon as this book came out, I knew I wanted to read it. It took me awhile to secure my own copy, because for a while this book was always sold out. But now I've read it and I can say it was fantastic! I loved it from beginning to end. The only thing that didn't sit well with me was maybe the last couple pages, but only because that is not what I wanted to happen.
My August reading wrap up. Only four books this month. My absolute favorite is Kill Creek. That is a 5 star book for me. Road of Bones is also very good.
Book 137📚 4⭐️
Super creepy, gory, haunted house story😬🏚
4 of the top horror writers meet up for an interview at Kill Creek. When they leave they are plagued by what they witnessed. But nothing compares to what finally surfaces.
@Yuki_Onna BUNNY!!💕💕💕
1. Just started Kill Creek!! Recommended by a local bookstore clerk😊
2. Home Before Dark by Sager!! No surprise 😂
3. Honestly, whatever jumps out at me! Sometimes I‘ll have a book in mind, other times I‘ll see a review of a book that‘s on my list and go there next - sometimes it‘s a new TBR addition that can‘t wait 😂
TW: Fatphobia, tokenism. And now that the truly ugly shit this book contains has been revealed...dammit, I admit I like a lot of what the author did. He took his time establishing mythology around the location, went beyond the hook in the synopsis. Gave me some good, complex people, secrets not too sensationalized, bits of hope and dread. I'll never be satisfied by a work of horror that is just 'everybody dies,' ; fits pretty well into my niche.
I want to read this book but have been unable to obtain a copy. Everywhere I look it says temporarily out of stock. Anyone know why?
A web phenom invites the top horror writers in the country to spend Halloween night in a supposedly haunted house as a publicity stunt. But it's not until they return home that the true horror starts.
This one has it all - psychological, supernatural, paranormal & more. And it's done REALLY well. The writing is strong, the characters realistic, motives, backstory & plot expertly crafted to deliver a powerful gut-punch of toe-curling terror!
I‘ve owned this Audible book for an embarrassingly long time—but this was the year it made my spooky-reads October list!
Although it‘s not super plausible, and some of the writing/character choices were a bit too ‘a man totally wrote this‘ for my liking, I did enjoy the premise of famous authors at a haunted house event, the book was genuinely scary, and that ending was *chef‘s kiss* horror finery.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
You know how you pick up some books and they turn out to be exactly what you want right then but you didn‘t know? That‘s what Kill Creek was for me. I was creeped out and absorbed. I stayed up late reading one night and had to watch a YouTube video before I went to sleep. I stopped reading it before bed, lol. I felt invested in the characters and what would become of them. I thought it was perfect for #Screamathon and really enjoyed it.
So just finished this really good and genuinely scary horrific haunted house story. I can 100% see this as a quality horror movie too. Definitely recommend for horror fans! 4.5⭐️ +15 for #teamhendrix and it earned me some #bookspinbingos! #scarathlon2021
Today‘s #LittensDressedinBlood prompt:
The Call Coming From Upstairs
This is part of my October TBR, a group of authors and a haunted house. What could go wrong?
This book has everything - psychological thriller and gothic horror. Stephen King would like this book. A book worthy of the freezer. Loved the twist ending. There is a lot of #mystery around this haunted house full of #ghosts. It would make a good movie. October is off to a good start. Read for 3 readathons. 235 pts #teamhendrix #scarathlon @StayCurious @4thhouseontheleft #screamathon #spookowrenreadathon #littensdressedinblood @MidnightBookGirl

Second time reading this, and was surprised at everything all over again. I love haunted house books, and this gave me that with some nice twists.
🌟🌟
Honestly the first half went pretty well, which is why 2 stars, but the second half fell into messy tropes. This book wasn‘t sure what it wanted to be a cerebral and unsettling horror or just a splatter fest. Very unbalanced and annoying. I didn‘t really enjoy it or care about the characters. I cannot recommend

Thanks for the tag @TheSpineView !
1. I enjoy all the mentioned genres. I don‘t think I can pick just one.
2. I think it was Kill Creek.
Wanna play? @EadieB @Elizabeth2 @BekahB @Jgacreations @DaveGreen7777 @Darkscrybe @SpiderGoddess
This was definitely a slow burn that dragged at times however the writing, plot and character work was truly great and helped power me through. My main takeaway is that you can truly tell this was a love letter to not just the horror genre, but to the authors of horror. Also that twist ending was perfect!
#LMPBC
Goal is to finish this by the end of the month so I can mail it out on time! This month has completely sucked butt for reading. Haven‘t even finished the “short story” I started 2 days ago. Aghhhhh
#LMPBC
3.5 ⭐️. This book takes you for a ride. What starts out slow and almost philosophical turns into a fast paced tale after 4 authors spend the night inside the house on Kill Creek. With a big focus on the power of storytelling this book was a quick and entertaining read for me.
I‘m loving this Haunted House book. However, the oversexed female author, in the group of horror writers spending the night at Kill Creek, is getting on my nerves. It must be a fantasy of Scott Thomas. It will definitely knock a star ⭐️ off of my final rating.
2020 favorites. My top two were The Vanishing Half and My Dark Vanessa.
116 of 2020. A guy who runs a website dedicated to the horror genre invites four successful horror authors to participate in a unique interview experience. This experience unknown to the authors turns out to be spending a night in a haunted house where the interview will be held. The premise of this story is intriguing. There are great characters in this book with their own stories to tell. I loved this book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Enjoyed this one much more than expected. 4 horror authors stay in an evil house. Nice variation on Haunting of Hill House
There is no better feeling than curling up with tea and a new book. 📚🐛 #selfcaresaturday #spookyreads
This book was spooky but not what I was expecting. If you are new to horror I would recommend.
“Sometimes stories have too much power. They change who people think you are.”
So far this book is very engaging. But i have reached a part involving bugs. Ugh! I dont like bugs at all! 😳
Not gonna lie, I was a bit disappointed with this one after hearing so many good things about it. I thought it was slow and took a long time to get the plot moving. The most exciting part was in the last 50 pages or so and with a 416 page book that was way too long to wait. It's well written, interesting take on the 'haunted house', good twist at the end, but it just completely missed the mark for me. #magicalreadathon #doublespin #bookspin
This was such a creepy read!! With plenty of surprises and scares and a twist at the end that I DID NOT see coming! I listened to it on audible and the narrator did great with the accents and creepy voices!
Haven‘t had a chance to start reading for #EasterExtravaganza but I‘m hoping to get some time in today possibly. Been getting a lot of projects done around the house that I‘m happy about but it leaves little motivation for reading. My goal is to read 500 pages over the readathon duration 🤞🏻 Currently reading this book which is my #doublespin (I think) only 30% in and it‘s a slow burn so far. Hoping it picks up soon.
From left to right here is my #bookspin, #doublespin and #triplespin books! I am so excited for each of these. Fingers crossed that I can focus enough to get through these. Think I‘m going to start with the tagged book. I plan to count it toward the OWls readathon so the sooner I read it the better. @TheAromaofBooks

All haunted houses have a story to tell and this one is determined to be told! This was an adventure that kept me on the edge. If you start, you will have to know!
