This book was very enjoyable 🥰 There was a lull in the middle but once it picked back up, I couldn‘t stop listening! It was multilayered with so many beautiful messages throughout. I haven‘t read a Hill book I haven‘t enjoyed ❤️

This was surprisingly deeper than I anticipated. If Horn‘s other works are similar in nature, I think I‘ll end up preferring his style over his famous father‘s! I wouldn‘t exactly call this horror, but I have no idea of what other categories or genres of work that would better describe this novel! The premise is a guy wakes up and seems to be sprouting horns from his noggin one random morning.
My first Joe Hill novel, this one was okay. It has the raunchy, sophomoric language I associate with his father's style, and it's rather more graphically violent than it is scary, but it's a decent story. I will likely read more of Joe Hill's books.
Soup, apples, spooky book...it's starting to feel like autumn around here!
This is a fantastic example of book perfection, I have never read anything quite like this one before.
It was unputdownable and the quickest I've ever read a book.
It's a very dark, wicked and entertaining read.

Today is my 6th wedding anniversary. Only 660 more years until we assume our final form! 😈🖤😈
One of the few Hill books that are still TBR, this one definitely has #mischievous vibes

This was a riveting read from start to finish. And at time‘s, deeply moving. Strongly recommend. CN: violence, assault.
I was initially put off reading this because the book cover I saw had Harry Potter with horns on his head...yeah, no. I should have remembered the old adage: Never Judge a Book by it's Cover!
Yet knowing how much I enjoyed NOS4A2, I gave it a shot.
Glad I did!
What a fun, twisted tale this was!
In my opinion the book was WAYYYY better than the movie but that's usually how it goes. I didn't care for it much but here's to (+6 pts) for #teamharkness #scarealathon2020 @StayCurious (Total pts. 160)
While the premise was interesting, the first 20 pages had too many slurs in them to make the story even a little enjoyable.
I have been told by so many people to read this book and I am glad I finally did!
Very twisted book! Joe brings forth alot of his father's influence in the remarkable settings and their eeriness. Reminded me of It in a few spots in the book. Really good listen!
Newest listen, already twisted!
#65 of my year. My first time reading his books and I can‘t wait to dive in! I will try my best not to compare him too much to his fathers books lol 😅 looking forward to hearing his voice as a writer 🧐
I'm not much for horror but this book for me hooked fast and I really loved it. Very dark story and will definitely make you think.
Definitely different but a good story. It did drag a little bit in the middle when talking about the childhoods of the main characters but the backstory is important so you get through it. The ending was sat but sort of beautiful. Overall a solid pick and a good read.
📚 Horns - Joe Hill
📝 Hill, Joe
🎥 The Hateful Eight
🎤 HIM / HELLYEAH / Hollywood Undead (I cant choose)
🎵 Holding on to Hell - Gin Wigmore

Hot damn, I loved this book so much! It‘s beautiful and tragic and so suspenseful. There was a part towards the end where Ig reads a letter that had me sobbing. The only thing that didn‘t make this a 5 was the slow pacing when discussing their childhood. But joe is a brilliant writer and I can‘t wait to read more of his work!

I can‘t really unblur the rest because her final msg to him could be considered a spoiler. But I couldn‘t continue past this point without making a post. Holy shit, I can not remember crying like this for a book in a while. Just straight up sobbing. Man, this book is full of surprises.

Just started the next book from my library haul. Literally only 15 pages in and I get this gem. This book is already very promising, also incredibly offensive in certain parts. This should be a fun ride, hopefully.

Progressive suspenseful story that reveals details piecemeal throughout the story.
I felt the ending was a little disappointing and I would have preferred a different outcome.
Nonetheless still a good read at 4 out of 5 stars.
Further in the comments.
I admit, I watched the movie and loved it. After watching it for the fourth time, I saw that this was a book I went to my local used bookstore and bought it. The story was on par with the movie, but it was far more into how the horns came to be, how they work, the whole devil mindset. The writing itself was simplistic. Recommend reading for a light read journey.
