Oh this is sooo me! I actually squealed when I saw the MFM book sleeve! I adore the bookmarks. And I died laughing when I saw the colouring book 😂 I'm going to have so much fun with it. The book picks are spot on. I used to have a copy of The Cases That Haunt Us but we had a leak & it got ruined before I could read it. My twisted 🖤 is so happy right now!! @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego You're the best 😘😘

Telfer is such a good story teller. Each woman‘s disturbing yet compelling story is told with wit and compassion. She separates facts from mythology well. It sparked some thoughts around how history has changed our relationship with these horrific crimes and how the retelling off each story owes a moral responsibility to really do it right. Both of these themes Tefler draws out in the conclusion.

Jumped on the train today to do a long walk - it‘s cold, but the suns out and the air is fresh. Trying to finish my book during a lunch stop for fish and chips. Every good walk needs lunch!

Chrissyreadit How is the book? It sounds interesting. 1mo
ElizaMarie I really loved this one! It had little quick stories that I found myself reading during lunch or when I had a quick break. It was super interesting all these evil women! 1mo
Mitch @Chrissyreadit really liked it! She‘s sensitive to ensure the cases are presented carefully - but she doesn‘t loose sight of the power of storytelling! 1mo

Picked up the tabbed book whilst on holiday recently... then accidentally found this great podcast... didn't realise for a while that they're both by the amazingly great to listen to, Tori Tefler.

In the episode I listen to she's signing off to go on maternity leave, so no new episodes for a while - but theres a great back list to listen to !

I enjoyed this book about female serial killers. Some of the women I‘ve heard or read about elsewhere and others were new to me. The most recent was in the mid 1900s, but this was a deliberate choice by the author. The format was perfect for listening a bit each day.

Today‘s #colormepretty is #CMYK!

Lady Killers is a book about - you guessed it! - ladies that kill. All the stories are ones I‘ve either never heard of before or know very little about. As a big fan of true crime, this book is a must.

You Are A Writer is a great book for any aspiring authors of literally any written work. It‘s helped me set up a plan to get published, and it provides plenty of motivation too.

A really interesting look at lady serial killers in history. Most were pre-20th century, and some were as early as the 16th century. My only negative is that I wish more had been more recent, but according to the conclusion section, the author made that choice with lots of intention, so all the more power to her.

Bookish_B This is my next read! Really looking forward to it 👍🏼 6mo

Perfect for true crime fans and anyone who is interested in the treatment of bad women in the world. Each story can be read on its own and you can drop in and out of the book itself as needed so this is a great one to go for if you are trying to read multiple books at a time this year! I‘m actually planning on not donating this one and keeping it on my shelf (normally I‘m all into donating). Definitely recommend it!

True Crime, which I love. The way some women killed in the past, mostly it seems with poison. I think this would have been better if it were in chronological order.

This one is great fun for a nonfiction account of ladies who kill! Written in an easy to read style this book chronicles the female killers from the Blood Countess to the wild west and the chicago women on whom the musical “Chicago” was based. Highly recommended as an audio as the narrator is wonderful- 4⭐️ #NonFictionNovember on Hoopla

I picked up this book after seeing it on Litsy and especially after reading @CoffeeK8 's review.

There is a thin veneer of feminist criticism. (Why are women killers always sexy witches?) Then the same tropes and stories are repeated for our enjoyment and delectation.

Don't get me wrong, the stories were really intriguing and sufficiently horrid and sensational. I really enjoyed it as a piece of fluff, just don't expect a feminist breakthrough

CoffeeK8 Glad you liked it, it was interesting stuff for sure. 13mo

I've been having a crime binge recently, miss Marple on TV every weekday and indulging in this. With female serial killers there is a LOT of poison. These are all vintage murders and with some of them there isn't much that we can factually know but overall I found this really interesting. This did well in steering away from some of the tropes that are added to women who do evil things, such as implying its because of her sex drive.

Weaponxgirl Also not all the women are white which is a change from the norm. #nonfiction2018 1y

This was a great true crime book. I loved how the author approached each woman's story and examined their true motives. She approached them as actual human beings and not with the typical assumption that they killed due to jealousy and love. #truecrime #historicalnonfiction
