This book was soooooo good! Body horror to the next level, so freaking creepy. There were so many different layers of this book. Would definitely recommend but beware it's disgusting! 5/5

This was so amazing! Horrific, but so good. I can really see this being an amazing movie/miniseries :)

Pretty intense so far! Not sure if I will be able to use this book for #AudioCleaning / #AudioChores but... we will see. I have been laying in bed for the past 2 days (felt so icky) but.. was able to read read and read. But, I need to do just a couple of things today (to prepare for my work week)
Book 12🎧
Oh… my…LAWD. I‘m not even sure I can put this book into words🤢😦
My best attempt ➡️ Grotesque, vividly descriptive, disgusting, horrifying… just why…!
I could have done without a certain character… you‘ll see🐈
I did enjoy it but it was a bit much at times 😂
Scout leader Riggs and his 5 scouts are on a weekend camping trip, an island just off the coast of PEI. When they arrived they never expected to run into a monster like this.
It is super gory, dark and violent. There is one small part where animal cruelty was committed by one of the characters. It is like sci-fi horror. I think is YA. It is better if you go blind. If you liked those old movies like Alien where a strange creatures are inside of people you will like this one. Like most of horror movies, unreal but I liked it🤷🏽♀️I like the way characters were described. It was also sad.3.9/4⭐️As a YA horror story
Look guys!!! For the first time all year I got a #bingo on my #bookspinbingo board!!! And I‘m pretty sure I read more this month than any other all year long! These readathons and #scarathlon2021 works 😆! #teamslaughter #20in4 #screamathon #spookoweenreadathon
Finished this one just in the nick of time! Wow this was bleak! That‘s not to say it wasn‘t a good story, but it was dark and gruesome and involved illness/death/insanity/ sociopathy of teenagers. Perfect for this time of year is what I‘m saying 😉. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 16 pts for #teamslaughter #scarathlon2021
After reading “Little Heaven” I expected it to be gross, but I think this was more disgusting, honestly. Which I‘m okay with. I like when horror makes me scared or uncomfy. The only things I didn‘t necessarily care for were the ending and the excessive animal violence.
5 points since this is more horror but 110 for the 11 hours reading time. So 115 points for #TeamSlaughter

It‘s a cloudy and windy 65 degrees outside so a perfect day to sit with a gross book and yummy coffee at my fave coffee shop ♥️😍
This is my type of weather 😌
Hope everyone is having a good day 🌻
Diving right in to the next book. After reading “Little Heaven” last year and loving it, I‘m really excited for this one ♥️
⭐️⭐️1/2
There‘s a lot about this book that felt excessive. Sometimes that worked for me, and sometimes it didn‘t. I really liked how creepy and unsettling the beginning was, but that ended up fading, and then it was just gross, which didn‘t work as well for me.

In this episode, I review the unsettling body horror novel, "The Troop" by Nick Cutter!

The next book for #lmpbc got here today. I can‘t wait to get started! 😄
This book was relentlessly disgusting and repulsive and I absolutely DEVOURED it [ha ha ha] couldn‘t put it down, great gross out horror
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🕸Spooky Season🕸 Its raining and actually a bit cool today!! 🖤 Starting the Troop rn🏕
Wow…what to say about this one. It‘s a good horror, creepy, weird, gross, gory…maybe too much so for my taste but overall the book is great. I did have to skip a few pages here and there where it just got to be too much but if that stuff doesn‘t bother you, definitely pick it up. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - would have been higher if it wasn‘t for all the stomach-turning scenes. #LMPBC #Round12 #GroupS @suvata @shadowspeak17 @collegecatlady @magyklyXdelish
I finished my #lmpbc #groupS pick! I don‘t want to spoil anything with my review, so I‘ll just say gory times are ahead. I‘ll have this on its way to you this afternoon @Hazel2019
@ElizaMarie
I am not sure if u know about this book. I was watching BookTube the other day and one of them were talking about this book. She said it kind of reads like a King book. So obviously, I thought of u. She did say it is gory so be prepared for that. Let me know if u pick this up.
Starting the tagged title to kick this one off since I finished a book last night. I have been told this one is really gross so I will try not to overshare throughout my journey 😀

Thanks for hosting @kimmypete1 @Eggbeater @MidnightBookGirl !
I was sitting next to the teen, as he was reading The Troop. His phone went off and he jumped out of his skin. I think he‘s at a good part. I love it when he loves a book I gave him.
Well, that was wholly upsetting. Very, very gross. I do not recommend reading while eating.
Sorry @FantasyChick but this is one #NewYearWhoDis book I couldn‘t finish ☹️
This is my 2nd attempt at reading The Troop. As a lover of horror, I didn‘t find it to be too disgusting but I‘m not a fan of animal abuse in books. Plus after 25%, I was still feeling a bit bored.
Technically I'm not currently reading this one (as I'm hooked on the Shadowshaper Cypher trilogy), but I AM living with this large mug of coffee. Reading The Troop is a rough go during lunch as it's so disgusting, so... yeah lol
2. I found this one very disgusting! But I love it!
3. I don't like the The shining directed by Stanley Kubrick.
4. Werewolves!
5. Playing cards, pins, stickers, funko's, and socks!

1. Creepiest book I've read 🤢
2. One word, worms...
3. I don't like The Exorcist- I dislike that type of horror
4. Zombies and Werewolves
5. I have a horror bookshelf that I like putting little horror related items on.
I'm not into infections but this was pretty good.
The gore didn't bother me as much as I thought it would but the animals.....that hurt. I also kept thinking that the boys were younger than they were and it drove me nuts BUT for a book out of my comfort zone, I really enjoyed it
Knocks off PEI for #ReadCanada too!

Eh, this was not so much scary as just gross. I felt like Cutter was trying to channel Stephen King with this one, and he didn't really succeed. It wasn't awful. But it came close.
Book 3/20 finished for #crushtherush
I was having trouble focusing on my print book so went w/ audio while watching cnn on mute. And I can't decide what made me want to puke more, the gory parts of the book or the news. Having a nervous breakdown over here. 🥺
I ran out of steam a bit in the final week between obsessing over election news and taking a long overdue weekend trip.

I think this was the most I‘ve ever read in a month thanks in part to the team aspect! Most importantly, it was a lot of fun to see what others were up to regardless of their team and to grab some reading recommendations I never would have known about!
This was dark as hell 🖤
Finished off #24B4Monday with 24h6m. I thought I was behind schedule when I fell asleep yesterday, but looks like I just hit my goal and finished 6.5 books.
DNF at 28%. This book is gross and disturbing. While listening to it I had to frantically skip forward a part where one of the boy scouts tortures a crawfish because I felt disgusted and horrified while listening to it. The body horror of the creature made me uncomfortable and after ruminating over whether I wanted to stick with the book and find out what happens or quit, I just decided that it was not worth forcing myself to listen to the rest.
Lord of the Flies meets Contagion. I expected this book to scare the crap out of me, especially after seeing it on a list for Most Terrifying Books. Instead, I wanted to vomit half the time and ended up skimming the last few chapters so I could see who lived. Terrifying my ass. 🙄

Once every year, Scoutmaster Tim Riggs leads a troop of boys into the Canadian wilderness for a weekend camping trip...

I went into The Troop expecting it to become one of my favourite horror novels, but I was sorely disappointed. Other than a few queasy, uncomfortable scenes, I didn‘t find this book overly scary. Disgusting? Yes. Way too heavy handed on the animal torture? Yes. Scary? No. I was disappointed by the stereotypical characters, the tropes, and the fact that it was gross just for the sake of being gross.
This was my #PEI pick for #ReadCanada. 2⭐
I was a little disappointed by this book. I wanted a really scary book to read and this was recommended over and over. I didn‘t think it was scary...just gross. Gore doesn‘t scare me and this book was definitely one of the goriest I‘ve read. I can see how it scared other people but to me it was just endless gore. However...the writing was great and I did find myself having to finish to find out what happened in the end. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was fun especially for a good Halloween read! Government project unleashes a carnivorous parasite in the Washington woods where a group of boys scouts are camping. All hell breaks loose in this horror read!
Came across this list and wanted to share. I haven‘t read them all but based on the ones I have read it‘s a solid list. I tagged one of the creepiest.
