This was one of the most hilarious audiobooks I've ever listened to. I laughed so hard at my desk my boss asked me if I was okay. I absolutely adore all three main characters. What a lovely story!

This book was a blast. I have nothing bad to say about it. And the author's note was very educational, so I learned some interesting things.

1. I don't have any recent bookish selfies but I have a lot of kitty selfies.
2. Felicity executes an eye roll that must give her a spectacular view of the inside of her skull.
3. Sunny, upper 70's during the day. An occasional bit of drizzle and low 70's now.

I enjoyed the first 3rd of the read. It began to drag on to have quite a “tweenie romance” flavor as the pages turned. Half way through not only did their journey lose direction but so did the story. However it was certainly worth finishing for the letter that takes up the last three pages. It felt empowering and quite fitting for my current life reflections. The letter summed up the spirit of the story or perhaps the purpose, meaningfully indeed.

I enjoyed the first third of this book very much. It began to drag on and, though not at the start, it began to have quite a “tweenie romance” flavor to it as the pages turned. .... this was so boring. Maybe if I hadn't read The mermaid and Mrs handcock, I'd find this more interesting. Instead, it's just a story of Victorian-ish teen bad boy who loves his best friend and learns life lessons on a road trip.
I dont know why this was hyped up so much.

It started out so hot and sassy—I thought this was going to be a slam dunk. It lost some of its razzle by trotting out all the goodies upfront and then drawing out too long. I'm not mad that I read it . . . just wish it could have sustained a little (or a lot) longer.

A witty, fun read! I was invested more in the characters - Monty, Percy and Felicity - than in the actual adventure. Also kudos to Lee for tackling important issues under all the fluff and humor. Nicely done!

let‘s just start this off by saying that this book blew my expectations out of the water. as an english person, i expected a book written by an american about a british person to be filled with some stereotypes and misused slang. boy was i wrong! the amount of love and research poured into this book is abundantly clear, and it blows my mind how passionate Lee is for her creation. this book is ~500 pages, but i never once felt like it dragged on.

The last book I read in which the main character was sent on a European Tour. I really enjoyed the description and characters in this book. It had a strong idea and lots of fun and romance and adventure. I just felt like it was way too long. It could have been cut down a lot and still kept with the storyline and been just as good. #booked2019 #genrebusting

I have to confess, I almost bailed on this. At the beginning Monty‘s antics and attitude were completely unappealing. But as soon as he, Percy, and Felicity left for their tour, it got good. I‘m really glad I stuck with it, as I ended up really enjoying it. I will be reading the sequel at some point.

I now understand the #genrebusting prompt a lot better. When I googled the prompt, it was listed as the #1 book on a goodreads list. It was on my tbr, so I decided to get the audiobook and I‘m so glad I did. The story was great. The narrating was even better. I had no idea which way the story was going to turn. A hint of romance, alchemy, thievery, pirates, the list goes on. Will definitely be reading the others #booked2019

This was a fun story, but I wasn‘t as impressed by it as everyone else seems to be... I didn‘t like Monty at all, and by the end I was just impatient for the story to be over. I did like Felicity, so I might give her book a try eventually.

Super hilarious and entertaining, the Guide is a fast read full of adventure, sarcasm, and bittersweet romance. I enjoyed all the characters throughly, and Ms. Lee does a wonderful job of depicting LGBTQ+ struggles in the 18th Century.

I enjoyed this from start to finish!

The characterisation in this is astounding. Felicity is my favourite, defying all the expectations of a lady. Cannot wait to pick up the Lady‘s Guide.

The plot was fascinating too, introducing slight elements of ‘magic‘ which certainly appealed to my penchant for fantasy.

Overall, this was also very informative. Historical fiction is great! Had never heard of the Grand Tour tradition before this.

A pack of characters I love chasing across a large expanse with something life-changing at the end of the line that everyone is scrambling for? It's not (just) this book and its sequel, it's The Chase!
I really enjoyed the meta explanation for the make up choices in Trek. Also: I have idly wondered if the genetic precursors have any connection to the Founders...
