Great thriller. Upsetting with a horrid male character so your content warnings. Jewell writes a twisty thriller than I‘m never sure how she till tie it up, but she always does seamlessly.

Another great book from Lisa Jewell. The antagonist in this book is exactly that. He‘s a manipulative piece of crap who preys on women‘s weaknesses. I gave the book a 4 star on goodreads. I would have given it a 5 but the story was a bit all over the place and I got confused as to when/where the story was. Otherwise, a fantastic book.

This book is pure craziness and completely relevant with all the Netflix docs out right now that are similar to the plot. There are a lot of characters to follow but that makes up all the craziness of the story and makes the ending even more satisfying. I did feel like the story was a little long and would definitely recommend reading consistently with all the characters but still a decent read.

I started reading the physical book of this a couple months ago & I wasn‘t into it. I placed a hold on the audio in case I felt like giving it another try & I‘m glad I did! It ended up being a 4 star read for me & it helped to have all of the different narrators. I believe this is the first Jewell book I‘ve read. I have a few of her others so I‘m eager to give them a try.

I guessed every twist and devoured it anyway.

Sorry I had to delete the other post about this book. I noticed I had the right cover but the wrong author. Oops!

Very tidy ending here. The story of a rotten cad, imposing himself on a number of women and successively stealing from them. Lisa Jewell is rather good at this, I was entertained.

⭐️⭐️Not one of my favorites of hers. If you like being made to feel angry and frustrated maybe. I mean how can women of today not see that 🚩everywhere with this horrible man. Too many characters and timelines. Writing is fine just didn‘t like the way it made women seem so stupid!

8-19-25: My 56th finished book of 2025! Great concept! Ash has lost her dad and is watching her mom be swept off her feet by this new guy named Nick. Something doesn‘t feel right about him. So Ash does some digging and what she comes up with is way more than she bargained for. Nick is smarmy, his character oozes off the page. We get his account in alternate chapters and he is definitely a fraud of epic proportions. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣5️⃣6️⃣

While this book strains credulity on just about every level, it was a quick read, which is just what I needed after my last book. Ash is suspicious of her mother‘s new bf, the too-good-to-be-true Nick Radcliffe. So she does some digging. Ripped from the grifter headlines.

Lisa Jewell writes great thrillers. I liked this one, but think I would‘ve liked it better reading vs audiobooking. It took me a bit to figure out who was who even with the different narrators. Guessed some of the twists but still had a fun time listening.

This is a twisty tale of a slippery man, told from alternating perspectives, one of which is his. It‘s a look inside the mind of a sociopath who has a knack for divining the needs and wants of women. But sometimes he loses control and bad things happen. This is one of those novels that you read through your fingers, metaphorically, like a scary movie. Oh, the delicious anxiety and the satisfaction of the ending. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

WOW... What a story. What a book. This one was so full of manipulating and lies and just plain bad that I didn't want to put it down. It was a quick read for me too.
You meet a lot of women in this story. And a lot of men. Could the women all be the same woman? Or could it be that the men are all the same man. So many liars are involved. So much drama.

While not my favorite of her novels, this was still a good domestic drama with one of the most unlikeable male characters I‘ve come across. If you can imagine a man who only tells lies, leads multiple women on at the same time, and would have a master‘s degree in gaslighting if there was such a thing, you‘d have our main male character. You know from the beginning what he‘s doing and the story is more about watching all the pieces fall then ⬇️

Hi all!
As I told @AardvarkBookClub - while I would 🩷 to receive 6 #aardvark books in a month, this month it was bc I rec‘d 2 of my July box! In their graciousness Aardvark told me to share!
So - if you would like *the whole box,* comment below - 1st come, 1st served. 🩷Aardvark
In other news, for my last #bookofthemonth #botm month, I picked this audio. Why cancelling? Let‘s say their customer svc (even for bffs) leaves much to be desired.

Jewell‘s latest is impossible to put down as the tension mounts! While the plot may not be unpredictable, it‘s nevertheless quite compelling with a villain at its heart that is almost fun to loathe. As more and more truths emerge, and things get darker, the pages really fly by! I couldn‘t tear myself away! Probably better to go in without knowing much at all to maximize your enjoyment! Already can‘t wait to see what she will write next!

Nick Ratcliffe is a man who is evil and cunning and uses so many different names it is a miracle he remembers to use the correct name the person knows him by.
He is despicable and has a ready lie for anyone who questions him and anything that might threaten his charade.
You won‘t be able to stop reading. 5/5

I will probably not remember this book in the years to come, but it provided me with a few hours of fun entertainment and sometimes that is enough to ask of a book. I found myself riveted as I anticipated the satisfaction of justice being served upon the villain. While there are a lot of characters and keeping track of a few of them was not easy, it did not detract from my enjoyment. Thanks to NetGalley for the digital ARC. 3.75/4 stars!

Bailing on this one.
I am a mix of bored from the repetitive story and super frustrated at various character‘s stupidity. #hailthebail

Currently reading… I hope it‘s a good one. I LOVE Lisa Jewell. 🩵💕

These characters were rich in flaws, and the time jumping timeliness came together, like pulling a thread all the way through. It is amazing how she can keep it all straight, tantalizing the reader with just enough to get you hooked and kept focused on the story. The descriptions made me yearn to be staring at the English Channel(this is from France).

Once again, Lisa Jewell has written a great novel with 'Don't Let Him In.' I wasn't expecting to like this book as much as her other novels. Romantic entanglements and cheating aren't my thing. However, Jewell proved me wrong. There is such a sense of coming doom in the cat-and-mouse book. I couldn't stop reading it. There's a dual timeline, and short chapters keep the story going. 4.5 stars.

This was entertaining and I didn‘t stop until I was done. The MMC is despicable, we know this from the get-go and have a little faith in a redemption. What makes this so fun is the women within don‘t know what the reader knows, and as said reader I just wanted to jump into the pages and tell them, ‘No. Really. Don‘t let him in!‘. ….This narration is great!

Happy Pub Day!!
It‘s a good one - do not miss it!!

DON‘T LET HIM IN will have your mind spinning and whiplashing back and forth after each introduction of a character and a new scheme of Nick‘s.
