Fourth Wing was definitely the standout for May.
Thanks @chasjjlee for the graphic. 😊

52/150 If it hadn't been for the, IMHO, sappy schoolgirl romance, I would have given this book 4 stars at least. I loved the dragons, the dragon rider school, the training, the world-building, and the camaraderie among the cadets. However, ever time I really got into the book, it would flip over to Violet's nauseating (to me) infatuation with *spoiler* and the story would come to a screeching halt while she described how beautiful he was ⬇️⬇️⬇️
I know I KNOW everyone is sick of everyone else saying how good this book is BUT. I really loved this. I did the audio which was fabulous. The romance when it‘s there is super steamy (there‘s not that many scenes tbh) but what I loved is that this book is plot heavy and character heavy, like so many interesting people, friendships to adore, like a whole cast and crew to get behind AND dragons AND enemies to lovers. Here for it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was totally a FOMO purchase. I'd read that people were having a hard time finding it and that they weren't going to be printing it with the dragons on the pages any more, and, well...here we are. I ordinarily prefer paperbacks, but it's Just. So. Pretty.
I am pathetic. 🙄
The school year is finally over and this teacher is officially on break. Hopefully I can catch up on my TBR stacks now.
I also just saw the readathon for this weekend, so I will definitely join in! My tbr is a little smaller than some, but I‘m HOPING I can at least finish Fourth Wing and Electric Idol; the top book is my bonus😅🙌🏼 #20in4 #readathon @Andrew65
Ok - I fricken loved this! It had absolutely every thing I want from a fantasy book. It was pure escapism and I read the whole thing in 4 days.
Characters with good development ✅
A badass female lead ✅
Excellent representation of living with a disability ✅
Dragons ✅
A good romance element ✅
Interesting world building ✅
I‘m strongly considering re-reading it already.
I like a good tale told with dragons. The romantic elements reminded me of Jennifer L. Armentrout. If you like her, you will probably like this book.
"You'll never be alone again."
I know I've been posting about this book a lot recently. But I just finished it today and I'm completely floored by how much I ended up loving it! ??? It has friendship, honor, a competitive dangerous school, political intrigue, romance, and best of all DRAGONS!!! Now I'll have to try and figure out how I'm going to survive until the next one comes out!
This was so ridiculously good. It‘s like if Hunger Games & ACOTAR had a baby, but then the baby was way cooler haha. Nonstop action, all the best romantasy tropes, a couple very very 🥵🌶️moments, world building that‘s unique but not a chore to understand, so much magic, so much emotion. 🐉
Pics from my long run where I was listening & pretended I too was training to ride dragons. I also dyed my hair green but that‘s unrelated.
Went to the farmer's market this morning and got some fresh baguettes, croissants, and apple cider donuts! 😋 Currently curled up with the kitties! It's a perfect Saturday! 💕📚
This book...is RIDICULOUSLY good! 😱 I'm not even halfway through it yet but I'm just loving every second of it so far! 💕📚
This is an absolutely engrossing book, with a blistering pace, action and adventure, just enough romance, and of course, dragons and magic and war. The tagline quote calls it “brutally addictive”, and honestly I can‘t say it better. Astoundingly good; I loved it.
I got it! The elusive copy of Fourth Wing w/ painted edges. I heard only the first run of the book will have the edges & restocks will now be plain. I guess that would've been what I deserved for sleeping on the biggest book of the year...
Starting this 🐉

This book had me totally bought in. I‘m not a fan of fantasy but this book was so highly hyped that I took a chance. I‘m glad I did. I loved it from beginning to end. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
OMG what a gorgeous book. AND what sounds like an intriguing world. Cannot wait to dive in!
My people went nuts this year! Feeling very lucky with my book bounty…

You guys, this was a WILD RIDE. Literally (can you say dragon riders???).
I was surprised at literally every turn. I cannot tell you how long it has been since I didn‘t predict most of a novel. I knew nothing. NOTHING, you guys. I was SOBBING at work listening to the audio.
(Pro tip for those who retain better when reading instead of listening: read and listen at the same time. It was a whole sensory experience).
I loved this!

This is the first book published by Red Tower Books, a new imprint with a focus on Romantic SFF stories from Entangled Books. Beautifully designed book & an entertaining story set at a school for, amongst other disciplines, dragon riders—the elite of the elite tasked with fighting for the kingdom in an ongoing, worsening war. Violet Sorrengail will have to use her wits & more if she is going to survive both the training & those who want her dead.
5⭐
Wow, this book was fantastic. It‘s easily my fav of the year…and it will be difficult to top this, although book #2 comes out in November, so it could be a contender. This is the author's first foray into the fantasy genre and I‘m pretty sure she nailed it. When I first saw that this was about dragons I didn‘t know if I was going to be into it...but I‘m so glad I gave it a try.
Stopped at B&N to grab Fourth Wing since I see a ton of people raving about it, and found an entire cozy mysteries wall??? Welp I had to grab these 2, and I already have the first book Buried in a Good Book ordered as well since I just realized that On Spine of Death is book 2🫠 BUTTT I think I may have found myself a new genre obsession!
There's just something so magical about reading fantasy books outside. 🌿📚 Especially when they're incredible fantasy books- like this one is turning out to be! I came for the pretty page edges and dragons, but I'm staying for the exciting, riveting story! 😱
I just feel so...happy... reading fantasy stories. That sounds trite, but it's honestly so true! It gives me such a sense of joy and wonder each and every time! 🐉

Pre-ordered this fantasy. The sprayed edges look good, but the book doesn't smell great. Hopefully that chemical smell lessens over time.
I loved this book! It's Dragonriders of Pern meets The Scholomance series by Naomi Novik. Basically, riding dragons is an honor you're going to have to prove yourself worthy of. There was danger, magic, and bossy dragons.
I was able to read this ARC due to working at a bookstore, and I honestly really liked it!! The romance was a bit TOO steamy for me (I prefer less sex scenes), and I found the love interest a tad possessive at times, but this book really made me feel things! If you‘re interested in an epic fantasy set in an original world with dragons and some steamy romance, check this out when it‘s released! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This blockbuster romantic fantasy is set at a brutal battle academy, where you either earn a dragon or you die. An unlikely, bookish, chronically ill heroine must defy the expectations not only of her enemies but of her allies to succeed—speaking of enemies, there‘s a tall, dark, and brooding one with a tragic past out to kill her. The DRAGONS, the seriously HEART RACING action scenes, and the STEAMY slow burn romance are all winning factors.👇
I was able to read this as an ARC and I have to tell you this #chunkster was full of world-building, secrets, romance, dragons and tension. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 read for me. I found this fantasy book to be rather creative and different which, for me who reads so much a treat. This one comes out in May. I suggest you keep your eye out for it.
