Mehso-so

I loved the premise of this, a story told from the perspective of a woman with a beautiful sister who serial murders the men she dates. But when the woman's sister decides to date a co-worker of hers whom she has feelings for, she must choose whether to support her sister or act to save the man. This was short and fast paced, but made me feel incredibly uncomfortable for most of it, and none of the characters were redeemable. Pretty meh overall.

The second short, beautiful and heartbreaking book about human connection I‘ve read this week, and to also make me 😭!
(The other was The Traveling Cat Chronicles)
This simple story of love, loneliness and companionship in later years is so touching, so real.....I just loved Louis and Addie so much, and the interference from Addie‘s son was maddening! This book will really stay with me.

The hype for this is soooooooooo real. It got me out of an awful reading rut and I couldn't have been more invested and enthralled. I need the miniseries NOW!

The #cozymystery genre is not my usual cup of tea, so I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this book. It would be a great palate cleanser in between heavier literary reads.

Set in WNC, near Asheville, I could relate to the atmospheric setting (my guess is it is inspired by Hot Springs, NC), and loved the MC‘s talent of bibliotherapy, a modality I didn‘t even know existed, and now want to incorporate into my coaching practice!

Caterina Good to know, I've been considering reading this one even though I also don't usually read cozy mysteries! It had me at book and scones. 😍 You're almost there with your book goals, great job!! 5d

4thhouseontheleft @Caterina I definitely have some criticisms of the book, but the topic and setting definitely drew me in! I‘ve been a reading machine since finishing up the last GoT book earlier this month. 😃 5d

I so related to Emoni's story about being a mom and a high school student. I had my own daughter while in high school, and the pressures of being a good mother while a child yourself...sometimes it seemed impossible. My own Babygirl is almost 13, and I wanted to reach into this book, hug Emoni and tell her it is going to be okay. That it is not always this hard.
This book gave me all the feels and I was a slobbering, crying mess for most of it.

This book was solid. The characters and relationships were a little shallow and there were some inconsistencies but I really enjoyed learning about all the women who were involved in spying and circumventing the German's advance across Europe, specifically in France. As I was reading I thought, "This would be a really good movie."
