I just finished the tagged book and it was excellent (review to come)!! And it was an excellent reading month—14!!
2 books wrapping up last month‘s #authoramonth
4 Percival Everett books for #authoramonth
1 John Scalzi for #authoramonth
1 wrapping up #Rwanda for #foodandlit
3 for #Bangladesh #foodandlit
2 for #Italy #Jubilee #foodandlit
1 for #Greenland #foodandlit
I couldn‘t possibly pick a favorite! Half of them were 5-stars!
I want to save a lot of you a lot of trouble reading this book:
Attila and the Empire have numerous talks, a few battles, a few demands for wives and tribute, a lot of fighting with their neighbors (the Goths and the Vandals)—that had it all not happened, Rome wouldn‘t have “fell” when it did. Well, ok. If a butterfly flaps its wings…
Probably well written and researched but boring. Unless you are really into a lot of ancient bureaucratic ⬇️
My next audiobook

The author quotes this common phrase toward the end of this memoir about his year in Rome. So incredibly true. I ♥️ this book. Review to come. #foodandlit #Italy #Jubilee @Catsandbooks
I‘ve decided to listen to this audiobook while also listening to Dickens‘ Little Dorrit audiobook depending on my mood. This one is short and I miss Italy. I also need to read another #Italy book for #foodandlit as we celebrate #Jubilee all year long! @Catsandbooks I also need a #letterF for #litsyatoz
A very short biography. I appreciated his message of humility serving the poor. In Argentina and throughout the world. I'm glad I took the time to read it. #Italy #FoodandLit #Jubilee @Texreader @Catsandbooks Also P #LitsyAtoZ
The complexity of each character had been thoughtfully crafted. Auci has a way of bringing these historical people back to life by giving them likable and unlikeable traits. I'm sad to say goodbye to the Florios of Sicily. I learned a lot about the Industrial Age of southern Italy, especially tuna canning. All thanks to this captivating family. #Italy #Jubilee #FoodandLit @Texreader @Catsandbooks
Today is Italy‘s Liberation Day from the fascist regime. Join all Italians all weekend long as we celebrate (while also continuing to mourn Pope Frances‘ death). Remember we are celebrating #Jubilee all year long for #foodandlit. Read any good books set in Italy recently? (Photo by my daughter when she was there on April 25 two years ago. She reminded me to make this post!) #Italy #catsandbooks
@wanderinglynn What are you doing to celebrate?
Rome turns 2778 years old on April 21. Not part of Italy‘s Jubilee celebrations but definitely part of #foodandlit‘s all year celebration of all things Italian. #Jubilee. Throw a Roman birthday party this Monday!
