Today I learned these yew trees may have inspired Tolkien‘s door into Moria. It‘s a perfect Tree A Day and Tolkien crossover.

It‘s been a long week full of a lot of things, but this morning I‘m taking a little break from it all to catch up on this book with a cup of coffee before church. I continue to love the mix of history and science and art in these daily pages, and the photos and art chosen are just beautiful.

Good morning! A slightly different view from my backyard than last night, but it‘s my favorite place to be on these beautiful fall days. I spent some time making these breakfast biscuits to pull from the freezer on busy mornings, and now I‘m catching up on some A Tree a Day reading. These short anecdotes about trees from all over the world continue to be so interesting.

I‘m not sure who is doing this buddy read but tag people if you know. The Boston liberty tree was today‘s entry. I‘m just showing some pictures of the area (Liberty Tree District) today. It‘s part of the theater district. They have a monument for the tree. And some art on a building. ❤️Boston

I read about the Basque arborglyphs in #atreeaday and then, about the Pando aspen in Maggie, etc… (finished last night). Simply put: trees are amazing. #weirdwords #weirdwordwednesday

I completely missed posting my joys on Friday because it‘s been an incredibly busy week, and all the days have kind of blurred together. This morning, though, I had the chance to enjoy some quiet time out on the front porch with the dogs, an iced coffee, and a book before church. It was lovely.

Good morning! I did a little bit of catching up last night to finish the June pages of this book. We‘re halfway through and I continue to really enjoy these stories of various trees. Today we start July with this quote which I‘ve heard variations of throughout my life. It‘s a wonderful way to consider your impact on the future.

@AllDebooks Like minds. I like to think we were contemplating this at similar times this morning. 🌳💚

Wow, April already! 🌸🌞🌸
Are you still enjoying our daily arboreal treat? 🌳
Did you have a favourite passage from the March entries? I adored An Orchard in Spring by Isidore Verheyden (1897). Inosculation is quite cool, too.https://crowspath.org/love-trees/

Thanks to the #atreeaday daily readings, which I‘m quite behind on, I discovered another new word! This is very science-y, friends. But very cool! Here‘s a link if interested: https://www.thoughtco.com/cladogram-definition-and-examples-4778452
