dabbe Pops also has memories of a woman who is not Emily's mother. And he recognized the name of the person who owned the creepy house/castle/haunt/whatever-the-heck-you-want-to-call-it. Here comes the Gothic! I also vote to add the word “sublime“ to “verdant“ and “verdure“. And am I awful to say that if I see any more scenery, I am going to 🤢? Oh, and great to send Pops on an adventure when the guy can barely walk. #wtf? 12mo

This is so much fun to read— great descriptions of nature and totally unrealistic characters but such a fascinating piece to reflect on and, dare I say, rail against? It seems I do.

Also I‘m pretty sure I should be getting ready to teach classes next week but um, there‘s this guy Valancourt who just showed up…so I‘m going to have to finish this chapter first. Close up of my cozy office shelf for the vibes
