This one‘s a light, fun read! Levine makes good use of both vampire and “woman in a romance novel” tropes without ever taking either too seriously.
Starting this light read and glad for a nice lighthearted cadence after finishing “Strange Sally Diamond.”
Got this through a Once Upon A Bookclub gift. Which is fun in itself.
Overall it was a fun, quirky romcom. Wish I had more to say. If you‘re looking for a quick fun read this one‘s pretty good. 3⭐️
Low stakes cozy romance with simple clear writing and straight forward plot; no guessing or serious business.
📚📚📚 and 🌶️
This was a cute, quick read. I grabbed the copy at my local library, not that I don‘t have shelves upon shelves of unread books at home.
The relationship between Cassie and Frederick is cute. They‘re both a little quirky, and I think that‘s what makes it work. If you like rom coms, I recommend trying this one out. There‘s a little spice, but not much. It‘s just a fun, fluffy story, like the TikTok cat videos Cassie likes to watch.
This was a cute rom com and I devoured it in a day. I loved the chemistry between Cassie and Frederick and their love story. Also I just love this cover. It is so cute!
Cassie needs a new place to live and fast. When she finds an affordable apartment in a beautiful neighbourhood, she knows there must be a catch.
This book is sweet, funny, and hugely FLUFFY, especially for a book about a vampire. Definitely a rom-com, lighthearted but not too cutesy, loveable characters, and overall a fun read.
4/5
When Cassie sees an incredible apartment listing for only $200 a month, she's almost certain it's a scam or a serial killer. In reality, her new roommate is a vampire who is completely out of touch with modern society and is hoping to learn more about the modern world by having a human roommate. This is such a fun take on a vampire romance. I really enjoyed Frederick's attempts to understand modern life.
Not quite sure how I feel. One; hilarious rom com of a human helping a vampire out of a coma learn about modern times. Love that experience. Two; romance is unwanted and forced. Loads of teasing by and one really spicy back and forth chapter. The ending had me all off the course between what F‘s mom did and epilogue. Besides that, I did enjoy the book. Laughing out loud at antics. Wished there was more dating a vampire insight

So far I‘m finding this book hilarious. More so because of the vampires attempt at appearing like a normal person. We know he‘s a vampire, which is an interesting take. Not building the suspense, but starting with it. Reginald (side character) is amazingly spunky; hope to get more of him. Cute rom com. Only thing, as I usually don‘t like in romance books, is the first thing they see each other is “oh damn, they‘re good looking.” Not a fan

This was an entertaining vampire romance. I consumed it quickly & the author paid proper homage to Buffy. I‘m also a sucker (see what I did there?) for a story told through letters or emails. However, it was FAR from perfect. Jealousy & possessiveness are romanticized. The characters don‘t exactly fall in INSTA-love…but not far from it. The ending feels very anti-climactic; some problems are too easily resolved & some aren‘t addressed at all.👇🏻
Slow-burn, low spice. If that makes you not want to read it, that‘s fine. What I loved was the tongue-in-cheek antics of Frederick, a 300-year-old vampire trying to learn the ‘modern world‘ and ‘the Tik-Toks‘. It was cute, light-hearted and just a nice fun fluff read. I love a good vampire story and this one was a worthy contender.

Well, that‘s fun at least. 👯♀️🗓️

Oops. 🤑
The good news is that I‘m going to be SO magical. 😆
Starting my first Halloween read in the sunroom… with my creepy painting in the corner staring at me. 🤣
This was just okay. Nothing new or unique here really. A modern vampire romance novel. I enjoyed it while reading it but I wasn‘t wowed.

Will do rest of the tags later.
This was so fun. I thought I was over the vampire trope, and I mostly am, but this was lovely. Silly, spicy, and lovely!

This is a very cute, silly Paranormal rom-com. I would compare to Molly Harper, but not quite as laugh out loud funny. It was a quick easy read, though included some implausible moments, the main characters were quite lovable. 3.75⭐️
I liked it, but I have a few questions about human-vampire co-habitation.
The #audiobook accompanied me on my 6 hours of train journeys today.
Occasionally mildly amusing. The best part is probably Chicago-area references (and that's not saying much).
I would rate this between so-so and pan. ⬇

This is a cute paranormal rom-com about a vampire who has been asleep for two centuries. When he awakens he decides to share his Chicago apartment with a roommate to teach him about the modern world. It made for some awkward and funny moments. Characters and plot was good, but felt the ending was a bit rushed and was not as seamless as the rest of the story. 3.5 ⭐️
