Man, this sure helped fill in all the backstory for me. Surprisingly sweet, excellent action, and a whole lot of set up for the future. Not my personal favorite of the series, but by no means bad! #romance #mythology

Welp, my #20in4 reading was pretty minimal, but I enjoyed what I was reading so that‘s what counts! I ended up splitting my time between Electric Idols and The Carrow Haunt, so I‘m about halfway through the later and so so close to finishing Electric Idol!

Of course this weekend we‘ve been super busy, but I‘m getting my reading time in today! I‘m at one hour mark of the #20in4 readathon, sooo we shall see how well I do at the end of this😅

I've never taken myself for a Greek mythology fan, but it turns out all I needed to add was a little (or maybe a lot of) 🔥spice🔥! Shew. Might have to let my Kindle cool off before I pick up another book 🥵🤭

Next row of my #readinglogsnake is Electric Idol by Katee Robert. Another romance in honor of Valentine's Day. It's a retelling of the Greek myth of Eros and Psyche where Eros a hitman for his mother Aphrodite and Psyche is a social influencer who ran afoul of her. Good story. Muy caliente!! First book of 2023! Being honest, it's really good smut!!! Like 'Neon Gods', I actually liked the characters and behind the spice there is a sweet, believable relationship. It's not winning an Booker prizes but it's a sweet spicy read....and a great way to start the year ❤️🥵🌶🌶🌶

Finished reading Neon God's and knew I had to read the next one.

My girl Katee Robert has done it again! In this spicy sequel, we get another taste into Olympus‘ messy politics and sordid love affairs. While not as kinky as the predecessor, Electric Idol had me calling for my fiancé to get his ass in our room. #spicy

Excellent story by Katee Robert, I am so in love with her writing and her ability to make you envision the scenes she paints with her words. Beautiful well done. Can't wait to read the third book in the series

Aayla hardly lets me hang out with her, much less take pictures, but here she is! I finished this one last week, but I‘m behind as always. I had a really good time with this book, and I liked it more than Neon Gods. I‘m looking forward to Callisto‘s story, whenever it is!

I technically finished one book from May TBR yesterday so…🤷🏻‍♀️

Great challenge @niftytiffd - which I actually completed ✅- this ebook is due tomorrow so had to finish it today. The second instalment of Katee Robert‘s Dark Olympus series is a spicy 🌶 hot 🥵 #romantsy . Eros and Psyche are the couple in this book - he‘s got a lot of mirrors and she‘s got a lot of style . My Greek mythology is based on Xena Warrior Princess so I am easy to please in that department. More my style than Neon Gods

I started the month reading some heavier books, so it was nice to take a break with this zesty little romance between Eros and Psyche.

It‘s not the best for plot or characters, but it was entertaining and nice to let my mind rest while I read fluff 😍

checking off the BookTok rec square on my reading challenge with Electric Idol, the second book of the Dark Olympus series. it‘s been a popular rec on BookTok, but I just didn‘t love it. I don‘t think fake relationships are my thing, and Aphrodite‘s anger at Psyche seemed contrived. didn‘t love Eros as the tortured antihero either. I liked Neon Gods much better!

March was an interesting month. Started off on a thriller kick, which was great. This is a month where I had TWO bails (not so great). This is also the month I gave in and joined NetGalley. That decision promptly altered my March TBR list.

Not as thrilled about my bingo since it came on the back of a DNF.

Anywho, I had some extra reads but no space for them so went ahead tucked them in at the bottom. I like that March had a bit of everything.

This is the second of the Dark Olympus series. It was good but didn‘t have the same immediate draw the first book did. Psyche finds herself on Aphrodite‘s very literal hit list after an image of her and Eros gets splashed across social media. The only way out is to marry Eros. I liked that Psyche has curves and that there‘s a whole discussion about clothes being created with curvy bodies in mind instead of just adding fabric. ⬇️

I loved this retelling!! I couldn‘t put it down, or turn it off since I listened to the audio, I wanted to know what was going to happen next and when I found out I wanted more! Both main characters were relatable and lovable, this world just keeps getting better and better.

New book on my TBR pile. A little different to the books in my last post! 😉 I love a re-telling and really enjoyed Neon gods, so interested to see where Electric idol goes

I absolutely loved this read, Eros the morally Grey badass falling for the, Psyche who is an absolute queen.

Roberts hooks me with Persephone and Hades then wow me with Eros and Psyche. WOW! For a person who loves mythology this checks all the boxes for me, family drama, backstabbing, earthquaking love, fierce loyal. I could go on and on. I want more!!!!!

I had no idea this came out this week! I loved Neon Gods last year. Very glad I decided to go to the bookstore today, and hoping to start this tonight.

First of all, I love these covers. Second, it was gritty and sexy all at the same time.

I was highly anticipating Electric Idol as a Cupid/Psyche retelling that releases tomorrow, and am pleased to report it did not disappoint. Electric Idol is everything I hoped for in a Cupid and Psyche retelling. Eros isn't a god of love in this world, but a killer for Aphrodite, but when Aphrodite commands him to take Psyche's heart, he decides there's a different way to save Psyche, who has never been anything but kind to him. I love the way the Dark Olympus world continues to expand. I can't wait to read more in this series.

I finished my November #BookSpin last night. This is an ARC of the 2nd book in Katee Robert's Dark Olympus series. It's a modern retelling of Eros and Psyche. Eros is commanded by his mother, Aphrodite, to kill Psyche and instead marries her. He thinks of himself as a monster, so doesn't recognize the pains in his chest as feelings. Love their relationship. The setting of Olympus is very fun. Out 1/18/22.
