Not sure why I‘m just now getting to this (well, #doublebookspin 😂), but its predecessor (from 2020) was a 5⭐️ for me…I. Loved. It. And this was a wonderfully fitting end for Fable‘s story. At the conclusion of the first book, Fable, a young gem mage, is kidnapped from her love, West and her home on the Marigold by the evil helmsman trader Zola for his own selfish reasons and is forced to dive for treasure. She is then thrown into the 🔻
Just finished these beauties! If you were wondering, this duology lives up to the hype!
I liked the first book (Fable), but this one was better I think. At least it‘s a fitting end to the story…. Fable grows into herself here, and is challenged in different ways.. trying to balance her now with her past, the secrets she‘s learning about her mother and the reality of her father. And I found out a prequel - Saint & Isolde‘s story is hue this fall! #bookspinbingo #bingo #secondbingo #readmyowndamnbooks
This is the second book, Book 1 is Fable. I adore this story & these characters & Namesake was even better than Fable. Same fantasy land rich with trading guilds, gemstones, adventure, but with new unsavory, albeit rich & glamourous characters. More of Fable's life story is revealed & her relationships deepen as she learns more of who she is & what she is made of.
I liked this book more than I did the first one in the series and I loved the adventure and air of mystery surrounding the story. The characters were amazing and I loved reading how they developed throughout the series. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes to read about pirates, adventures and amazing love stories!
4⭐️
We were salt and sand and sea and storm.
We were made in the Narrows.
It was one long series of tragically beautiful knots that bound us together.
“I didn‘t leave you on Jeval because I don‘t love you.”
“Saint.” I tried to stop him.
But he ignored me. “I left you there because-“
“It doesn‘t matter.”
“It does.” He looked up then, the blue in his eyes rimmed in red. “I left you there because I have never loved anything in my life like I love you. Not Isolde. Not the trade. Nothing.”
Helmsman. Dredger. Trader. Orphan. Father.
Daughter.
“I‘d like to submit a request for a license to trade at the port of Bastian.” His voice echoed. “On behalf of my daughter and her ship, the Marigold.”
Whatever happened tomorrow, we were sailing into it together.
You and me.
And for the first time, I believed him.
“How long can you live like that?”
His lips parted and the kiss was deep, drawing the air from the room, and the word was broken in his throat. “Forever.”
“The answer to that question is always going to be the same. It doesn‘t matter what happens.” His hands tightened on me. “You and me.”
“This didn‘t start that night on Jeval when you asked me for passage to Ceros. It started a long time before that. For me.”
I didn't feel afraid of him in the way I thought I would. I felt safe. I didn't know if I could love someone like my father, but I did. With a love that was deep and pleading. With a love that was terrifying.
Finished the first book this morning and just had to dive straight into the second book to find out what happens to fable and west!
I adore book that pull you down the rabbit hole and this one did not disappoint. Fable has grown so much in many ways but is still clinging to some “not so good“ habits. She has found her people and from them she grows stronger and more confident with them standing behind her.
January Book 1/25 #ListyLove #bookspinbingo

720 Utripov srca (720 heartbeats) is a thriller from our local author and is translate in english too.
Finished my 3rd book for #MermaidMarathonReads! This is the second book in the Fable duology. It continues with all my favorite characters from Fable, a new quest, and some interesting twists. It moved along quickly and I really liked Young‘s writing style. I listened to the audiobook which was well-done. #100YEARS100BOOKS #86 #TAILSandTALESforADULTS #13 #SERIES2021 #AUDIOJUNE #9
so i haven't been here for a while i'm sorry but i'll be back posting soon ☺️
I‘ve been trying to finish this one for months, but other books and real life got in the way. Namesake is a satisfying conclusion to the duology that answered many of the lingering questions I had at the end of Fable. The final resolution was a little too “easy” after all of the twists that preceded it, but it was still enjoyable. Great escapist pirate adventure for the summer!

Treasure Island meets Pirates of the Caribbean with teenagers/young adults who are just as cut throat as the adults. It is a great coming of age story Young doesn't spend time filling the pages with adults telling teenagers they should do this or not that, she gets on with the story. New & old characters clash in this story with twists and back stabbing plots as the ghosts from the past haunt their every move

Finished this one on Sunday for #NutsinMay - Just haven‘t had a chance to post anything.
This one was really good! A great and satisfying ending to this duology. I‘m really glad I read this series. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Finally got a bingo! #BookSpinBingo
Thanks for sending this along Chrissy! I‘ll send it with the #LMPBC book for Leslie!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ◼️ I seem to be stuck on an #audiobook kick and I can‘t seem to get off of it.... and yes I finished this one in a day!!! #LitsyLove #march #bookspin #bingo https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/3975492105
So I am about to start the #sequel to the book I absolutely fell in love....maybe it‘s the #graphicartist in me who thinks the cover #art is breathtaking or the fact that I grew up with #redhair and #freckles or maybe it‘s because it is my #bookspin book for #bingo this month. #LitsyLove
A good followup/wrapup to the Fable duology. Great writing & a fun, dark, conniving atmosphere. Fantastically strong female protagonist in Fable with supporting characters that I NEED more from. Super bad guy, great conflict with greed & cutthroat plotting & scheming. More political intrigue than seafaring in this one, but still fun. A good ending in terms of wrapping things up, but could have been a bit harder-hitting. I want more of this world.
I loved this second book to the Fable duology. I think I liked this one more than the first, the plot continues straight from the ending of Fable, which I really liked. This book was full of love, not just romance but the love between family and friendships. I liked the plot twists and the world building, the descriptions of the dives were so vivid which I loved. I also found that the ending had the perfect closure for fans of the series❤

Oh my gossshhhh this book was so beautiful! It was hard to get into on the first half of the book. But I enjoy the parts of her in the water. The way she explains the way the character feels on the water, it's like the water is a character itself. This book is absently stunningly written. I could have read this book all day long. I don't think there is going to be another one, but I would LOVE it if there was 🥰
I truly adored these books! Fable was the perfect setup for Namesake. I don't want to give too much away but I loved the development/maturation of the characters. Following them through happiness, anger and even despair was a fantastic journey. I was sad when the book was finished but it felt like such a fulfilling ride.
If you liked Fable, you'll definitely want to read this!
📖📚Happy Reading!📚📖
Finished this today, love the ease of the kindle but I still prefer an actual book!
It‘s a fun book the characters are very well written! Adrienne young is amazing writer. And the cover of the book is awesome
Didn't love Fable. Tried this one anyway but bailing halfway...
If you want a good female badass pirate read the Daughter of a Pirate King, Daughter of a Mermaid Queen duology by Tricia Levenseller instead.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I find that most sequels tend to disappoint compared to the previous book, but “Namesake” was a solid and entertaining end to this duology. However, one of my main critiques of this book was that I wasn‘t a fan of how West and Fable‘s relationship was written and it felt forced at times. In addition, I wish there had been a book map since the first book had one and the book references multiple different ports and landmarks.
Overall Rating 4¼⭐ | Narration 😀 = Good
Duology Rating 4½⭐
Swashbuckling, free-diving for gems, family secrets, and back-stabbing are just a few of the elements you will find in this book. You‘ll also find endearing friendships that have a familial feel to them and even a little bit of a sweet romance. All of which make this a truly fun and heartfelt story.
I was so drawn into this story and I felt so invested in these characters that I hated to put this book down. Honestly if you loved the first book, you'll love this one too. There were so many plots twists and some were surprising. You learn so much more about Fable's background and her family in this sequel. Fable has so many decisions to make and has to be quick on her feet to save the people and things she loves the most.
❤️❤️❤️🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️i think I really liked this sequel to Fable. So satisfying.
This duology is a delight. Finally a book series for young adults that‘s not full of cliches & overdone plots.
I‘m looking forward to the authors next series in November😌.

Adrienne Young continues to delight me with her beautiful novels. Fable is a fantastic main character that is strong without being wildly unrealistic and her ability to read stones is a subtle magic in a YA genre crowded with “the chosen one” trope. I highly recommend this duology for fantasy fans of all ages especially anyone that enjoys seafaring adventures and families lost and found.
5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
When the stimulus arrives on payday during a new book release week... only reason I didn‘t get more is because Barnes and Noble don‘t have baskets out due to Covid, and my arms were getting full.
Very satisfying conclusion. I would happily read another book with all these characters.
The final volume of the Fable duology hits the shelves 3/16! It picks up right where the cliffhanger left readers dangling and makes for a fast, fun and most importantly, a satisfying conclusion! Fable learns more about herself here- and about the gems that grow under the sea! It‘s maybe a bit less-action packed but with more time spent on the characters, I think I liked this one even more! I‘m looking forward to seeing what Young writes next!
