I loved this! I cried 😭
Made me want to read more about Norse mythology (and/or retellings) as I know very little of it.

@CBee They came!!! Thank you so much 💛. I‘m super excited to add these to my shelf and read them and the book marks are very cute! They‘ll be great for my buddy reads…unless my boys get a hold of them and they end up being toys haha. Thanks again!!! 🥰
The Witch's Heart was actually very emotional. It took you on a rollercoaster of emotions from begining to end, which isn't what you'd expect from a fantasy but its what you get from this one. It was very interesting though with all that she gave birth to and all that was prophesied but I won't give that away. You'll have to read it to find that out, but it was an amazing book, if you ask me.
I'm loving this book so far. I'm 66% into it so far and it's so not what I expected. I thought it would be one of those books that I wouldnt get into or understand but I actually get everything that's going on and I'm totally into it.
Making progress! Almost done. Enjoying a relaxing bachelorette party on the great lakes with a great book.
Great read so far! Started it off on audio and I absolutely love the narration.
4/5
I really enjoyed the reimagining of the story of Ragnarok from the perspective of Loki's wife. It's beautiful and heartbreaking and just an all around wonderful read.

This story is wonderfully crafted. The focus is on the characters, their thoughts, their desires & the fates that await them. You are not lost in descriptions but in the turmoil of the characters lives. About half way through I did wonder if I'd see the book through, then suddenly I was hooked. It has been a long time since a book made me cry but this tale did just that, a mother's love is the strongest thing in all of the Nine Realms.

This is an awful book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ how dare you make me feel emotions….
I really loved this book. It's the first 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 book that I've read in awhile. It's a Norse mythology retelling of the witch Angroboda who married Loki and prophesied Ragnarok.

Amazing book that satisfied every part of my mythology loving nerdy self 😊😂♥️
absolutely amazing. Never thought I‘d be on the side if the giants/trolls in Ragnarok.
definitely pulled at my heart strings.

Trying to see how many books I can cram in before the new year #endofyear #mythology
Wasn't expecting this one to come in so soon, but im looking forward to it!
Thank you Aletheia so much for the surprise!! I am so grateful for our friendship ❤️ and the thoughtfulness and generosity you always show. Sending you virtual hugs across the miles 🤍🤍🤍🤍
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. A heartbreaking telling in the world of Norse Mythology of Loki, Angrboda, the mother of monsters and the fall of Asgard with the coming of Ragnorak. Such a sad story of love and loss. Wonderfully written. However it felt a bit too much like Circe with that one being slightly better.
Didn‘t love it, didn‘t hate it. Loved the mythology parts and the way I wanted to read more about Ragnarok on my own. But I was annoyed by these characters and their vindictive drama. I wanted it to be atmospheric tale but it really was not.
Glad I read it. Probably won‘t read it again.
Bk4 of #20in4 #readathon & the last is done! Managed to finish this just before midnight Monday so it‘s just scraped in under the wire. And it‘s another #bingo on my #BookspinBingo board for October(we have till the 3rd right?) I loved this book❤️I have a huge weakness for Norse myths, the hubby & son wish they‘d been born Vikings, so it was very much in my wheelhouse. Plus it was told so beautifully & it had witches. Perfect🙌 #RagnarokForever
I loved this book from the first page til the last, even if it did make me weep like a baby.
@kellyann28 I am SO glad you chose this for #lmpbc because who knows if I ever would have gotten to it otherwise, and it was just fantastic! Exactly the book I needed right now!
I'm finishing up my final thoughts and will get it in the mail in the next few days. @DanaManiac @TheBookKeepers
I loved this one 😍 A retelling/reimagining of Norse mythology, it brings to life the story of the witch Angrboda. It was all woven together so well and I loved the characters. There's just something about Loki that is so interesting. ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
Angrboda, mother of monsters, has taken residence in my bookish heart. I've said it before here, but I love retellings. I love Mythology. Norse Mythology is something I have only explored with Gaiman. I could see the threads between his retellings and hers. The story got both emotional and tightly wound, making for a spectacular end. The audiobook narrator is a perfect fit for the story, truly. I will likely reread this in print.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
The library has been busy today, but I'm taking a few quiet moments to start this... loving it so far!
@DanaManiac This got delivered a few days ago - sorry it took me so long to let you know its here! It's been a crazy week... I can't wait to dive in this weekend! @TheBookKeepers @kellyann28 #lmpbc

I really enjoyed this retelling! I thought that the lack of chapters would have me feeling lost, but once things got going, I was so intrigued and couldn't stop until I finished the whole thing. I had never heard of this book until my postal book club, but am so glad that I discovered it and had the pleasure of reading it. It's such a complicated tale of love, heartache, betrayal and forgiveness. #LMPBC
Loved this book! It‘s was so good. It tells the story of Angraboda - wife of Loki, mother of ‘monsters‘ - from her point of view. I knew little about Norse mythology outside of Neil Gaiman‘s work and occasional stories I read here and there. This was a wonderful retelling that I recommend to anyone interested in mythology.
When I started it, I was afraid it would be too similar to “Circe” and “Ariadne”, both in themselves each retellings of mythological women whose tales fail to tell their true stories, and give them a voice.
I loved each of those books, but I wasn‘t sure how the author would tell the tale of the little-known giantess witch who married Loki…. For the rest of my REVIEW https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/4230208865
Book mail! Other than Gaiman‘s “Norse Gods” and the D‘ aulaires Book of Norse Mythology, I have read very little on the subject. Excited to read a woman‘s side of the story, the wife of Loki, the Norse Giantess witch Angrboda. I have heard that what Madeline Miller gave to the voiceless Circe, Genevieve Gorbachev gives to Angrboda 🎉Here‘s hoping it will be wonderful 💙
Just got home from my final dress fitting and found this wtg for me! Gonna crack it open right after dinner. Thanks @TheBookKeepers ☺️ #lmpbc
I was drawn in by the cover and then mesmerized with the story. Any book that makes me look up information while reading is a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read to me. It was engrossing, heartbreaking, and enchanting. Angrboda tries to ‘disappear‘ from the Norse gods that hate her and use her. But when her heart is returned to her, she finds she cannot escape fate, no matter how tragic it may be.
Heart-breaking (!) and tender telling of the giantess/witch Angrboda as she tells her story, away from the Norse gods that only wish to use her and revile her.
Absolutely loved this one! I‘ll get it mailed out this week @kellyann28 @DanaManiac @Johanna414 #lmpbc
Also I got Things in Jars already because Kelly is on top of life! 😘
Taking a break from thrillers! Let‘s get some Norse romance! #currentlyreading
Another dive into Norse mythology, this time from a woman‘s view. This is a gorgeous, complex, feminist leaning account of the gods. Not as compelling as The Mists of Avalon, but so necessary. Loved Loki and the way the gods became human in the author‘s hands. Recommended!
“Nothing ever dies. Not truly.” This book was incredible ♥️
The Witch's Heart - Genevieve Gornicech
My favourite read of July. It's a retelling of a myth, so totally my jam, but to switch it up I moved from the usual Greek to Norse mythology.
This tells the story of Angrboda and Loki and it's wonderful. Everyone has a crush on Loki, whether it's the traditional of Marvel incarnation, but I really fell for Angrboda in this book.
#norsemythology #loki #asgard #angrboda #thewitchsheart
I had no idea about the true mythological origins of Loki and Thor before this book and throughly enjoyed diving into these stories of the nine worlds. Loss and love and family and friendships are beautiful themes throughout this novel.
Kelly‘s pick arrived today and I have mine packaged to mail out to Dana! @kellyann28 @DanaManiac @Johanna414 #lmpbc
I loved this book! I was never really much into Norse mythology that wasn‘t written by Rick Riordan, but oh my gods I loved this. I think the beginning was a little slow but the ending was great. Definitely a must read.
Look what finally arrived in the mail! After two months. This book got lost amidst the Covid frenzy here and finally made its way to my arms and bookshelves, yesterday!
I LOVED this book! I am very glad that I picked this one for #LMPBC ! I will get this out to @TheBookKeepers (I think) tomorrow! ❤
