I do not know how I feel about these books. Totally engaging, compelling and page turning but straight up the most terrible version of the future I‘ve ever read in YA sci Fi 😆 I mean, please, do not put me on this ship. I much prefer the peaceful lovely Becky chambers approach 😆 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Amy and Elder uncover the lies on board of the ship Godspeed flying to another Earth.
This book held my attention trying to figure out the mystery behind the inner workings of the ship. At times, it was easy to guess what happened and others, it was a surprise.

Amy and her parents are cryogenically frozen passengers on the spaceship Godspeed as it travels to a new planet. She wakes up early and discovers passengers living on the ship to keep it traveling towards it‘s destination. However, things aren‘t as they seem. She must find the truth for everyone to survive. I enjoyed this and will continue the series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
@Pogue @TheSpineView received today. I'm always excited when I get my copy back. It won't take me long to finish End of the World. Have a great week.
@Butterfinger @TheSpineView just finished this one for #LMPBC not sure if I liked it or not the end kind of gave me hope.
I am a little behind on reviews. This book I read in April for #LMPBC. Godspeed, a space ship, leaves Earth on a 250 year voyage to a new earth like planet. Frozen aboard the ship is Amy, a nonessential, and her parents along with scientists and military personnel. They will start a colony on the new planet. Something is wrong and Amy gets woken up early and she must unravel the lies for all to survive. 4⭐
I initially thought twice about reading the book because I was unsure of the sci-fi elements to it. BUT... I was blown away by this book. It had so many twist and turns. It always keeps you guessing to the very last page. I would recommend this book to my friends who love to read books as a getaway. I can't wait to read the next one.
I'd like to say I hate it. I can't.
I'd like to say it drudged on and on and on. It didn't.
I'd like to say the writing was horrible. It wasn't.
It has one of the most horrific plots of a space sci-fi book which works brilliantly or "brilly" as the author writes. For someone who is not a sci-fi fan, I think this book rocks.

1. No, I don't think so.
2. For the next #lmpbc round.
3. I watch CNN10 with my science classes.
4. Snooze button for an hour.
5. @Connster hope you feel better soon. @Riveted_Reader_Melissa
@StephR @TheSpineView @wordzie #lmpbc I think I will read this one for our sci-fi group. She is a local writer who made the New York Times list. Has anyone already read it?
Okay all, @jennifer88 challenged me to participate in #7day7covers . Covers I love with no explanation. the no explanation is the hard part.
#Day1
@Trashcanman this should be on your TBR. It's not as girly as it looks and the first chapter has the best description I have ever read on cryogenic freezing.
#BeatleMaynia Day 3: Across the Universe @Eggs
It almost feels like cheating with this title! I adore Beth Revis- definitely one of the kindest authors I've met. I bought this book years ago back when Borders was going out of town. I love how the books we read and buy add to our memories!
Being one who really enjoys sci-fi and space, I have many books that would fit the #acrosstheuniverse prompt, but this one is pretty spot on! #beatlemaynia
1. BFG
2. Bagels with cream cheese and meat. Yummm
3. Beth Revis -her across the universe series is a great little known space gem.
4. Battlestar Galatica

This is one of my favorite #flyingundertheradar books. It came out at a time when teen vampires were all the rage and teen space novels were unheard of. I love it for its first chapter on cryo freezing. And the look at life on a spaceship bound for a new world. I still have yet to read book three mainly because I don't want the series to end.

I thought this book was interesting. It was like a slow burning sifi mystery. Even though it was slower I never got bored from it. The twists at the end were good and most of them I didn't see coming. I highly enjoyed the audiobook. I would recommend this, especially those just dipping their toes into science fiction.
#dystopian #YAL number 4 - I love the originality of this plot compared to all the other dystopian YAL I've been reading. More sci fi than the others have been, which made it more intriguing. There was a mystery and were lots of plot twists that kept me engaged, especially in the 2nd half. I will be reading the sequel. #bookseries
I really enjoyed this. I am a big fan of stories with generation ships. The society is fascinating, the mystery was good(I thought I knew what was up but hadn't put all of it together), the characters were interesting. I don't read a lot of YA, but I have been really impressed with the ones that I have read. Things have definitely changed since I was a teen. I hope to get to the rest of this trilogy soon!
Loving every page of the book and it's eerie how it reflects issues currently happening in the US.
Got the physical copy down from the shelf and realized I didn't notice a cool diagram of the ship before
This book was really slow to begin with but when you get into its sooo good.
Wow, so this book was amazing!!! I loved it so much! Definitely not what I was expecting, a different syfy book with a hole bunch of unexpected twists! 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love elder ❤️ I'm listening to the audio book version right now.
Another re-read for speculative fiction talk. Love ❤️ this sci fi murder mystery. One of the first YA in a long time to bring back spaceships and star voyages... it holds up.
@jpmcwisemorgan I thought of this for you tonight. While I love Starflight, it's light and kind of fluffy, like Jupiter Ascending. However if you want more grit, give this one a try. I have not read the last book because I don't want it to end. And when the author describes cryogenic freezing, I swear the room turned colder (1 st chapter). This is more like the movie Passengers. But an interesting take on a trip through space.
It's warming up outside so hopefully that's the end of snowy #weather for us. I can finally read by the window without freezing my fingers off. I can't wait till everything gets green again 🌷🌱 (So if it's #aprilbookshowers does that make it #maybookflowers next month?)

Pretty good progress through this challenge I think. #litsyAtoZ
This was a really good dystopia YA, I've never seen the movie but have heard it was good. But the book is pretty awesome.
I got up to make a cup of tea and Olga stole my comfy, warm blanket. #catsoflitsy guess I'm reading and chilly until she decides to give me back the privilege of using my blanket again🤔
These are rules I can live by lol #readclub I started reading Across the Universe last night, anyone read it? So far I think I'm going to like it even though I'm only a couple chapters in.
Finished my first Reading Challenge book this year. Overall an excellent start of the year. #litsyatoz #readingchallenges #2017
I finished this book on the plane and wow it got so intense halfway through I didn't want to put it down. Definitely a book for teens and young adult given some of the context. I always find space travel and futuristic books interesting, this one in particular I want to continue with the series. I can only imagine how interesting it's going to get!
A love out of time. A spaceship built of secrets and murder. Seventeen year old Amy joins her parents as frozen cargo aboard the vast spaceship Godspeed and expects to waken on a new planet, three hundred years in the future. Never could she have known that her frozen slumber would come to an end fifty years too soon. And that she would be thrust into a brave new world of a spaceship that lives by its own rules.

I'm pretty sure everyone else I know loves this, but I kept losing track of what was going on while I listened. I love the premise, but just like in The 5th Wave, the alternating male/female perspectives didn't work for me. Plus weird sex culminating in a rape scene....I finally felt like I had permission to say that I wasn't enjoying it.
I signed up today for @BookishMarginalia #litsyAtoZ reading challenge for 2017. This is my potential list of books to read just out of what I already own and still haven't read.
So, this was an ok book. Readable, often sweet, rarely confusing, had a little social commentary and is setting up a larger story within the trilogy. characters were ok, even though sometimes annoying, not too deep but not too shallow.
All in all, I'm not giving this book a lower score because it's unpretentious and doesn't aim high, while being consistent.
Pick it up when you need a fast, easy read, but not much more than that.
