Short and creepy novella
Okay I keep seeing this man pop up everwhere, I'm starting to think it's a sign 😂😂😂
Book 2 of #24in48
This was super unsettling! A creepy kid with a dash of weird cosmic horror - I loved it! 😱
This is the first book I‘ve read by this author, but it won‘t be my last.
Woo hoo! My internet is finally fixed - just in time for #24in48! Now I won‘t eat up my cellular data during the readathon. 😂
This is my stack so far. I‘m excited to jump into these books, but I have plenty of unread books waiting in the sidelines if needed. I also have a couple audiobooks and ebooks lined up. Hoping to put a small dent in The Stand. 📚
Ho Ho Holy sh*t did you spoil me, Vanessa! I am gobsmacked by how thoughtful and very very me everything you sent is. Even the mug is perfect for me - when my anxious daughter is having a tough time I always prompt her to say “I Got This” ❤️💕❤️💕 #nightmareforChristmas #n4c @FantasyChick @teebe
I read this one after unboxing on Halloween. It was such a fun, quick read. It‘d be cool if the author revisited it and put out a longer novel with the same storyline. I definitely want to read more by the author.
Also, I didn‘t mention this in my Halloween post, but I love the Poe pin! Thanks again, @sprainedbrain 🖤🖤
At first glance, Phil Pendleton and his son Adam are just an ordinary father and son, no different from any other family. Some might say the father is a little too accommodating given the lack of discipline when the child loses his temper in public. What no one knows is that Phil is a prisoner, and that up until a few weeks ago and a chance encounter at a grocery store, he had never seen the child before in his life.
@MaleficentBookDragon I love all my goodies!! I loved that water bottle when we did the bottle and book swap and now I have my own! The magnets are amazing and the It bookmark! I love my kindle books and print books! Plus I am a huge Beyonce fan so those lemonade socks are perfection! Thanks so very much! 🖤🖤🖤
Awesome swap and thanks to the fabulous Rita for organizing all of this-it is a job! 🖤🖤🖤
Had this little book for a while and finally got around to reading it tonight.
I really wish this were longer. It didn't build up any foreboding or creepy factor for me. I couldn't really care for Phil. *shrug* wasn't all that scary, but I can see this as a pretty cool movie.
4🌟🌟🌟🌟 Tasty Tasty little morsels 🍬🍬🍬😈... This Author‘s novellas are fast becoming favorites of mine ☠️☠️☠️
❣️ thank you @MaleficentBookDragon I LOVEEEE MY DROGON!!! I squealed so loud i had to explain. That‘s also one of my favs from a pets life too already hanging from one of the cat carriers! And these expresso beans OMGGGG me and my mom were fighting over the bag! Why hadnt i had these before!!!! Thank you! Loved everything!!! #keychainswap
Look what the awesome @JoeStalksBeck sent me. Looks very scary and creepy. One of the most terrifying twilight zones for me is the one with kid who can make everyone do what he says, and the blurb for this book reminds me of that. Thank you so much!!! 💕🤗
A good solid horror story. Unique but with a nod to H.P. Lovecraft. The story did not progress in the way I expected, and that made it so much better. I love the imagery of the deer head skull with the antlers. So creepy!
So excited to get these 3 Kealan Patrick Burke books. I finally spent my Barnes and Noble gift card I received for my birthday in October. Deciding what to buy was a big decision. So many options 😄
When a story reminds you of the best of King and Lovecraft, you know you've read something great. This short story is delightfully creepy and unsettling. Here's the first sentence to whet your appetite.
"Four months to the day he first encountered the boy at Walmart, the last of Phil Pendleton's teeth fell out."
It's something you've been told since childhood: never take candy from a stranger because possibly some very bad things will happen to you & that's exactly what happens to our protagonist Phil. His entire life changes & suddenly a creepy little boy is calling him daddy. I liked this short creepy psychological horror novella, although it got a little weird for me at times. It did confirm my belief that children are super creepy.
Available on KU.
This year I beat my 2015 total by two books! Happy New Year everyone!!
Bella's not sure what to make of this novella, but she's been very jealous of her cat sisters having their pictures on Litsy recently. So here's my pretty girl, making her Litsy debut. #PetsOfLitsy #DogsOfLitsy
