Obviously I spent a good portion of my day off rereading the fuzziest, most autumnal love story I know. This book feels like being hugged and I hope I reread it every Halloween until my copy falls apart! I‘ve never tried any of the American (I assume?) snacks they keep talking about but I really want to now!

#scarathlon #teamslaughter @Clwojick +26 Halloween book

Emilymdxn I‘m counting this for #screamathon #bfc #spookoween #panspookathon graphic novel #wickedathon #spookysapphics Halloween term in title #halloweenathon autumnal not spooky vibes #notsoscaryathon and #octoberreads lgbtq+ character. Wow that‘s a lot! Am I doing too many readathons?? (edited) 3mo
WorldsOkayestStepMom What kind of snacks do they talk about? 3mo
Emilymdxn @WorldsOkayestStepMom there‘s succotash, a whole bunch of types of pie which I‘m sure exist in the uk but sweet pies aren‘t a super widespread or common thing here, apples dipped in all kinds of things, frito pie and smores. I‘m probably forgetting some there‘s a lot of snack content in this book! 3mo

WorldsOkayestStepMom I love snacks. I may have to find a copy of this book! 3mo
Emilymdxn @WorldsOkayestStepMom I really recommend it! The story is very sweet and good-natured and it has lovely autumnal energy, it makes me feel hungry and like I want to arrange a thousand wholesome Halloween activities! 3mo
charl08 I loved this one. You remind me I would like my own copy! 3mo
marleed I love your review. Having experienced American autumn adventures for many, many a year I didn‘t even think about the food references that would sound unique to other parts of the world. American do love their autumnal foods! Do you have foods specific to autumn? 3mo
Emilymdxn @marleed I don‘t think britain goes very hard on autumn things in the same way America does, which is something I‘d change if I could! Apple crumble I suppose, and other fruit crumbles, and I guess general cold weather foods but they‘re more wintry and Christmassy. Mulled wine is a big deal, and hot toffee and chocolate puddings with cream 3mo
rachelbuckley I felt the same way about this one! Pumpkinheads is such a comfort read 💕 3mo
Clwojick I really need to get my own copy of this! I love it so much! 3mo

kaysworld1 How do you get started on the book bingo? It looks fascinating 4mo
Clwojick @kaysworld1 you write down 25 books you‘d like to read, and @TheAromaofBooks puts together a bingo board each month and you create your board based on the numbered books you listed. Check out her profile for more info! 4mo

"Four months to the day he first encountered the boy at Walmart, the last of Phil Pendleton's teeth fell out."
Captivating right out of the gate! This is a short read at just over 140 pages and I was hooked. This is so creative and weird and was just the book I needed to kick off October. Talk about original story, I've never read anything like it!
