The plot 👌
The twist 🤩
IMMEDIATELY ENGROSSED as I started reading.
I came across this as I was browsing Blackwell's books online. I saw that it was a bestseller, and got it. The book delivered. 👏🏼 The last parts were the best.
Something special came in the mail 🥰 #thesilentpatient #alexmichaelides #breathless #amymcculloch #botm #bookofthemonth #bookclub
I literally can not say enough good things about or recommend this book enough. A psycho thriller in which a woman, Alicia, shoots her husband after ~6 years of marriage, and then goes silent for ~6 years following. Enter psychotherapist, Theo, to try to uncover why she went silent and try to get her to talk again. Twists and turns and many psychology components, absolutely a must read.
Amazing! I was blown away! I went into the book with little to no expectation...but i was completely hooked to the book from start to finish... Its fast paced and full of twists! Never saw the ending coming... Loved it...
Read it. That‘s all I can recommend. The characters are built in a way where you can feel the different emotions that are written. Yes this was a 10/10
Reading in bed for this teachers Christmas break 💆🏼♀️ I am already hooked and only 6 chapters in
This is my beloved house rabbit, Moxie Crimefighter, helping me with a reading challenge nearly 7 years ago.
First thing tomorrow morning, she goes in for oral surgery. She gets a little, bunny-sized gas mask, & they knock her out so they can file her teeth down. It should help with the pain she‘s been experiencing. The doctor is renowned in her field & very reassuring…but I‘m *incredibly* nervous.
Please send us love from your corner. 💞
This book fit my reading mood exactly. I was annoyed at the male doctor trying to speak for and heal the voiceless woman but nevertheless I read compulsively til the end. #BOTM

I did not see that coming. Red herrings everywhere. I listened to the authors interview at the end and it was cool to hear how influenced he was by mythology. Good read if you like twisty whodunnits but not a psychological thriller, in my opinion. A solid mystery nonetheless.

Sitting outside on a beautiful morning having my coffee, listening to the birds sing, my boyfriend is working on drawing up someone‘s tattoo for the day and I‘m about to step into this that I have read so much about. Have a fabulous day 🐝🐛🌿🌻🍄
Couldn't be more excited to read these off one by one ?! It's undoubtedly one of the best purchases of my life! Sadly it has to wait for "one of us is lying"?
Loved this one! Right up my alley for vibe, storytelling, and setting. Can't wait to read The Maidens!
It is more of a character study than a murder investigation. It's about what goes on inside the mind of the murderer and also the psychological effect of the events leading up to the murder. The brilliant plot twist. No matter how many murder mysteries you read, you wouldn't see this one coming. The last few pages tie up the novel so beautifully that you will find yourself flipping back to the pages to check if you have somehow missed some clues.
Tagged audiobook kept me company while I cleaned up my workspace and filed paperwork to wrap up this challenging school year. To all the Litsy teachers, instructional assistants, school administrators, OTs, PTs, SLPs, guidance counselors, school librarians, school nurses, and all the other essential school personnel I‘ve neglected to mention- thank you for your hard work and dedication. I hope you have an amazing summer!
Non-fiction: Do you feel the author is believable? Does he/she write with any bias? Explain.
Fiction: *Character Focus*: What choices has the character made thus far? Do you agree with their decision? Why or why not?
I really enjoyed this book! 10/10 would recommend! I was nervous about this book as it‘s actually the field that I am in. I was pleasantly surprised.
March 2021.- mystery / psychological thriller - meh disliked everyone because the writing was good and made me dislike them. Weird story.
Non-fiction: Copy a short passage that you found to be interesting. Explain what made it interesting for you.
Fiction: *Focus on Personal Connections*: Do any of the characters remind you of someone in your life? Who and how?
THIS BOOK WAS FREAKING AWESOME! READ IT IN ONE DAY. COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! 10 STARS!

The silent patient is about Alicia who is found with a gun and her husband murdered. As Theo starts to look into Alicia's pass as to why she has became mute things start coming together.
Fully engrossed in the book. Had twist and turns I didn't see coming. Thoroughly enjoyed it left me shook.
I loved every minute of this book! Such a great psychological thriller kept me hooked from start to finish. Would definitely recommend📖
Phew! This was a good read and definitely lived up to what i was looking for in my reading at the moment – it's a psychological thriller, with good premise and pace. I had forgotten how it feels to finish a book in a day, and it's great when thrillers deliver on that. Pick it up if you are in a slump or are generally looking for a novel with good suspense writing.
PS: I found the narrator annoying at times though. 🤪
It appears I will be re-reading this book 😂
In an effort to get my non-reader coworker to read more books, we started an unofficial book club.
We let Non-Reader choose the book and the schedule (and I said it didn‘t matter to me if I had already read the book).
He arbitrarily chose 5 chapters a week. Then someone realized the book is 71 chapters. This will officially be the slowest reading pace ever for a thriller but I am so excited 😅
Oops. Forgot that I finished this last night. Tells a lot about the story, huh? I almost DNF'd this one because I was just so bored but it did pick up closer toward the end. Not enough that I'd classify it as a great thriller but it was ok.
I'll figure the #readathons out later. My book is too far away 😂😂

Delilah has been doing well since her tumors were removed. Although there was some scary swelling in her paw initially, it is back to its normal size now. Her wounds are still healing and the one on her foreleg looks especially raw since the tumor was so large and some of the stitches had to be removed. But I think she is out of the woods. She‘ll be going into the vet today for a checkup and I know she is hoping she‘ll ⬇️
I had some DNFs but now I'm enjoying this. It's keeping me up way too late at night!
Time to get tucked in and get some reading done before I call it a night. I hear good things about this one and so far, it looks promising

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - must read! Unbelievable first book by Alex Michaelides, couldn‘t put it down and finished more or less in a day (which for me, a self confessed snail pace reader, is unimaginable). Joint top read of 2020 so far!
Halfway through this and I‘m hanging in there mainly to find out what the big twist is. I‘m annoyed by the male narrator, who uses his Serious Ominous Voice for the entire book, even when it‘s very inappropriate for the line he‘s reading or the whole scene.

I‘m kicking myself for leaving this one unread/unheard for as long as I did. I couldn‘t read it fast enough and I think my jaw physically dropped while I was listening 😳😳
4.5/5 🌟
Quick read! I heard a lot about the twist not being easily predictable, but as I got closer I did figure it out early on. Over all a 3.5 star for me but I would recommend it overall.
Starting this audiobook at work while enjoying a protein iced coffee and trying to ignore the mask on my 😷 oh the joys of healthcare....
This is an amazing thriller! But the excitement of reading begins towards the end of the book. From the very beginning, the author gives the reader some hints that everything is not so clear! The most important thing that I liked was the unexpected ending of the book! 🏥🎨🖌️💔
Starting this on audible today! Thought I would give audio books a try instead of listening to music at work. Are you guys a fan?? Would love your opinions 🥰
I started reading War and Peace this month and within 2 days with little progress I wanted a break from it. So I picked up the Silent Patient. And it turned out to be truly riveting. I read it cover to cover. The story is gripping and the language very simple. Definitely one of the best psychological thrillers I have read so far.
