I usually dislike reading a famous book after having seen the famous movie. But I figured 20 or so years between gave me enough space. LOL. In fact, I was able to envision my own characters and not think of Brad Pitt the entire time.
Why are vampires so sensual? The book was so passionate; love, hatred… you name it. I‘m definitely glad I decided to read it. Although it was dense, my imagination had a blast.
What I liked: the descriptive way that Hendrix writes. Some of it really made my skin crawl. I liked the characters and felt connected to them.
What I didn‘t like: I felt like the story fell a little flat at times. I only felt like I knew what was happening in this moment in time and left with more questions than answers but I also don‘t care enough to know the answers.
All in all, it was a quick read 3/5⭐️
