I'm not sure who the artist is, but this quote I keep on my phone. I'm thinking today of my Grandpa Lowey (paternal grandfather). It's his birthday in Heaven today. He loved all creatures great and small, his garden, and his grandkids (including the four-legged "kyds") and was a very gentle man.

Bilbo is definitely the most unheroic hero Tolkien wrote 😂
He doesn't possess any of the qualities of a hero and certainly not the aspirations.
But he has a great heart and that's why he can do incredible things.
I live him.

This fallows billbo baggins and him being set onto an journey to the lonely mountain to retake the thrown. There is the recurring motif of the treasure inside the lonely mountain. I rate it 10/10

I think these are the only elves I have on my shelves.

My all time favorite. Happy to still have my original copies of the trilogy.

But I did get a steal on this book set for $1. 😍 I read The Hobbit in about 5th grade, so I'm due for a reread and then I can explore the rest of Tolkein's world. Gotta love a rummage sale and church bake sale: homemade salsa and gobs.

The Silmarillion, The Hobbit, & The Lord of the Rings by Tolkien are one of my favorite book series. In 1973 the brilliant Professor Tolkien passed away. He will never be forgotten nor will Middle Earth.

MAJOR DILEMMA! The LOTR Boxed set comes with The Hobbit on the left. But it does not have the gold edged pages & embossing on the cover seen on the book on the right. I was going to return the one on the right since I no longer need it, but the gold edges sound so nice when you turn the pages!!!😬

Just got my 1st issue of the American Tolkien Society's Minas Tirith Evening-Star! It's too bad they'll soon be ending the hardcopy version and going completely digital. I prefer to read Tolkien-related things in print instead of off a screen; even better if I have a cuppa near to hand. ☕

So in addition to the potterverse books, my son bought me the Tolkien boxed set, coincidentally I bought him two bound Tolkien books, and my daughter-in-law who's an artist, made me the gryffinclaw picture! I am spoilt! Plus they bought me two more pandora charms, a santa in a sleigh & the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. Merry Xmas to all my litten friends from all over the world! #xmaslove
