pickIt‘s been a long time since I read the books but this one made me want to dive back into them. There were things I didn‘t know about them or Tolkien until reading this book. It takes you into the mythology and history that inspired these stories, and gives some information about Tolkien himself. Loved it.

pickThis is an absolute must read for any big fans of Tolkien and Lewis. It‘s the story of their friendship told as a graphic novel with excursions into the creation of the fantasy genre and more. It‘s part biography, part fantastical tale, and part choose your own adventure. I love that it explores the friendship, but it also gives info about both men‘s childhoods, marriage, and time as soldiers. It‘s wonderfully done.

pickI loved this gorgeous graphic novel exploring the friendship between C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien and how they influenced each other creatively. Hendrix also delves into the meaning of myth and other types of stories. Beautifully, brilliantly done.
pickFinished the LotR trilogy, starting the Silmarillion & v excited for the critical theory I‘ve chosen to pair with it. Also mad about not having all the books I want to read on audiobook ho hum
This book was lovely— a lot of excellent moral readings BUT I wanted more nuance. Still, delightful. Looking for a close reading involving Tolkien‘s other works & specifically an analysis of “the scouring of the shire”
