Read the last third of the book in a dead sprint today. SO good — I think even better than the first one.
Last book was a no, returning to a trilogy that I know is a YAAAASSSS for me. I ❤️ Alicia!!
The second book in trilogies are usually meh compared to the first. But I liked The Twelve so much I couldn‘t put the book down. The series is basically the walking dead but with vampires. What more could you ask for?
Thanks so much @mitch for the #completetheseries giveaway and congrats on your milestone!
There are 3 series I would like to work on completing this year. I very much want to read The Twelve, which is the second of The Passage Trilogy. Also on my list is Iron Gold, book 4 of the Red Rising series. Last on my list is A God in Ruins, the sequel to Life After Life.
So many series, so little time!
Stayed up way too late to finish this book, but it was well worth it. While there were weak points in this book (too many POV characters), I really enjoyed how this book expanded the story and connected some unexpected plot lines. Getting to read the story of the “Last Stand in Denver” (only referenced in book 1) and see Amy‘s development was especially satisfying. Now onto the 3rd and final installment, which I picked up at the library yesterday!
Never actually owned this book but I loved it!!
In fact the first two books in this trilogy are 10/10!
The third book...well..not so much. 😕
Anyway...snatched this up for $2 while book shopping with bae @meghan2714 😙
I can‘t believe that I am loving this series as this is totally out of my wheelhouse. I loved The Passage and thought this was just as good, catching up with characters from the last book while meeting some new ones. It was a few months since I had read The Passage so I needed to refer back to it a bit. I think I may jump right into City of Mirrors soon so I don‘t lose my momentum.
A continuation of Amy‘s story, and all of the survivors of the viral outbreak. We get a glimpse at some of the characters‘ history, which all comes into play by the end. Looking forward to finally getting the third book and finishing this story.
So I forgot to post about these! I‘m finally getting around to finishing up the last book in this series, which means a reread of the first 2 since I remember next to nothing about them. Over halfway through the 2nd one and then I‘ll have to wait for the 3rd to come in at the library. So good, just as good as I remembered them being.
#agameoffavorites day 4, local author! While not native to Houston, he's called Houston home now for over a decade. His Passage trilogy is one of my favorites, but The Twelve is my favorite book from the series. He's stated that his most influential books, and some of his favorite, are Lonsome Dove and 1984. I also love 1984!
Lunch break! Good timing too. Just finished my first #24in48 book. The second in Cronin's vampire trilogy.
This was a great read, especially if you‘re into post-apocalyptic stories. It‘s not zombies in this story, though, that brings about the downfall of civilization as we know it. It‘s vampires this time around, but still just as deadly. I saw a similarity to the trajectory of The Walking Dead in this installment in the trilogy. The focus is more on the dangers of dealing with other people rather than the vampires. Highly recommended!!
I cannot get enough of this series and I seriously, seriously love Scott Brick! I took it slow with this book because I just do not want it to end. Met new characters that touched my heart, but Wolgast will always be my favorite. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I think I waited too long between reading this and it‘s prequel The Passage. I was lost from the beginning; couldn‘t keep up with the timeline, the multiple characters, and their not-so-interconnected storylines.
Yes, I‘m definitely going to have a book hangover from this one. Wow.
If you‘re into long series (well, trilogies) and post apocalyptic vampires sound fun to you, and you enjoy some kind of brutal gore and deep character development, get your hands on The Passage and get started on these now!
I need a little break, but I‘m glad City of Mirrors is on my shelf! Soon I‘ll see you again my friends!
My snow day plans! Took Sietje out for her first snow experience, and she did not enjoy it. That‘s ok with me! Let‘s enjoy it from inside, wrapped in blankets, with a scary book!
For those who‘ve read this, how would you categorize it? At first I thought sci-fi/fantasy, but now I‘m leaning more towards horror. Or has post apocalyptic become it‘s own category? I‘m just not sure. Whatever it is, I sure do love it!

I‘m really hoping to get the third book in the trilogy - City of Mirrors - for Christmas, so I‘m going for a re-read of this in hopeful anticipation! I loved, loved, loved this and The Passage before it🎅🏻

Wow. I heard that Cronin's trilogy dips here in the middle, but I respectfully disagree. I have developed such deep and profound emotional relationships to these characters that, frankly, it reminds me of how I felt twenty years ago, reading Harry Potter for the first time: they have become dear friends, and I will miss them when they're finally gone. Though not without flaws, these novels are majestically human. #AllEyes
