Current read

Thrilled to see Vermont make an appearance - one of my fave states so far. Beautiful place!

Hopefully the storyline won't ruin idyllic memories 🙊

swishandflick One of my favorites! Hope you love it! 3w
Jinster @swishandflick Oh cool, thanks for the comment! My colleague recommend on the basis of just being really bloody good 😄 3w

Four unread sequels to some of my favourite books and I've been putting them off for so long, possibly to savour them, maybe because I'm scared to finish them as I might lack the exciting of having them ready.

Hands up - who else does this??

gibblr At least in the case of Crooked Kingdom and Muse, you should do it!! I read both not too long ago. Put off Muse for awhile but finally but the bullet. 3w
Jinster @gibblr 👍 Tempted to do SK first as there are so many more to look forward to. Then keep the massive Follett story for summer. 3w
julesG Yep same! Crooked Kingdom and I haven't even read Strange the Dreamer. Stupid as hell. And my kids are the same. 🙈😁 3w

Johanna414 Yes! I do this all the time. I get so excited for the sequel but then I‘m almost scared to read it (edited) 3w
Jinster @Johanna414 this is exactly it! Excited, but very scared 😂 3w
rjsthumbelina I do this with every series I like! I never want to finish it bc then I'd have to say goodbye...I may have attachment issues.lol 3w
Jinster @rjsthumbelina haha #bookattachment had got to be a real thing right!? 😂 3w
rjsthumbelina @Jinster it's a very real thing! 3w

Six of Crows | Leigh Bardugo

Saints help my tbr pile now I've read Six of Crows 😂

But which should I prioritise next? I want to read Crooked Kingdom really bad but I'm so tempted to get the Shadow and Bone books read first.

Help?! 😂📚

VanChocStrawberry Shadow and Bone trilogy happens first chronologically, but I also read six of crows first. If I were you I‘d read crooked kingdom next. 3w
VanChocStrawberry I went to a book signing with Bardugo, and she asked what I thought of the intentional inconsistencies with narrators...but I‘d read them so far apart, a lot of that was missed by me. PLUS the TV show is combining the first books of the two series. Between those two things reading them like you‘re thinking could be awesome. 3w
cherinium I went right into Crooked Kingdom after Six of Crows, because I had to see how that all turned out. I have bought, but still not read Shadow and Bone. 3w
Jinster @cherinium @VanChocStrawberry Thanks both - totally taking this into account. I'll read my next distraction and think it over while they both make their way to me 3w

My latest purchase that will undoubtedly cause havoc on my reading order

I'm not the only one, right?

Eggbeater This book 😍! 4w
Jinster @Eggbeater It's comments like this that mean it's skipping 32 the places 😂 4w

Leigh Bardugo fans - I am almost half way through Six of Crows but I feel like I'm missing a lot of back story!

Should I have started the Grishaverse somewhere else? Should I stop reading SoC and start this world from a more suitable point??

I hate being out of order!

TheSpineView I read six of crows first and I found it was not necessary to read the others first. Though there were a few things made clearer. 4w
Jinster @TheSpineView OK that's good to know. I feel like I might read the earlier books after I've finished Soc 4w
SoManyBooksNotEnoughTime it's not necey to read first but the Shadow and Bone trilogy will give you the missing background 4w
Jinster @SoManyBooksNotEnoughTime Great, thank you! 4w
cherinium I have read Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom, but have not read the Shadow and Bone trilogy. I did not feel like I missed out on anything important. 4w

My current read - I've had it weeks but prioritised a new, spontaneous purchase.

I'd love to hear what people though of this. at the moment I'm about 50 pages in and finding it a little more scatty than I thought but finding the character development pretty good so it's keeping me satisfied. Wonder if it'll live up to its hype?!

julesG It takes about 70 pages to get the story started. I'm sure you've probably passed that point by now. 1mo
Jinster @julesG Ahh OK, I'm not quite but definitely will be tonight 👍 1mo
julesG Another Litten warned me about the slow start due to all the characters being introduced. I might have given up otherwise. 1mo

This is my absolute favorite book so far this year. And totally unexpected as I bought it on a whim after reading one rave of a review.

Any other Lazlo fans?

How long do I leave the book hangover to pass before moving onto Muse of Nightmares?

Eggbeater Muse of Nightmares is even better. I say read it right away. Welcome to Litsy! 🐙 1mo
Jinster @Eggbeater omg really? I better get on it. Thanks! looks like a good place to be so far! 1mo

Palimpsest I‘m reading this now. Only on page 132, but the world so far is super cool. 1mo
charl08 Loved this! Such a long wait for the sequel. I vote go straight into the next one, why wait if you don't have to?! 1mo
Jinster @Becker Oo really? This is the first I'd come across but I'll look a bit deeper 1mo
Jinster @charl08 Haha good question, I'm just so worried that sequels ruin the magic that has built up 1mo

First taste of Agatha Christie for me and I liked it! please feel free to hit me with any recommendations on which one to line up next to 👍

... you know, so I can ignore the other 22 books I have on my TBR pile

Emilymdxn Love this! My other fave Poirot is the murder of roger ackroyd so I really recommend that. Try to avoid having the Big Spoiler spoilt if you can 1mo
