Pickpick

Was pleasantly surprised at this. It was a quick read and although i guessed the ending it was still fulfilling.
Pros: 2 great leads, did not shy away from gruesome aspects, feminist discussions, humor
Cons: a bit predictable, wanted a little more romance

Contains: single POV, explicit photographs and discussions of murder, romance, mystery, English setting

Story- Girl goes on a hunt for men who killed her father. Set in the old west
Pros- The main character was a fierce female not a damsel in distress, meeting the various characters
Cons- it felt like more of a short story, lots of nothing in the beginning, ending was a bit abrupt
Overall enjoyed it and appreciated the unique storyline of a female western lead but wouldn't reread.

🌟🌟🌟/5 Go into this expecting silly and not a reimagined story. The plot, characters and language are the same. The difference is the insertion of zombies in the world.
Pros- the girls being fighters was my favorite part, i like silly
Cons- too brutal in parts especially Elizabeth, dragged towards the end, poor Charlotte
Overall if you love the original it will entertain you but i probably won't reread.
Contains: romance, zombies, ninjas,gore

Another book that i can tell is very much about introductions. Overall enjoyed it and have continued with the series
Pros - I liked most characters and wanted to see more of them, characters unpredictable, the various kingdoms and their differences
Cons- main heroine is annoying, a lot of moving parts, a little of a Game of thrones rip off, plot predictable
Contains: multiple POV, magic, death, fantasy elements, romance

I heard this on audio and it was a bit predictable but still enjoyable. I will continue the series.
Pros: I like the leads who are smart and have good hearts, the dystopian world is interesting
Cons: There's a lot of holes in the plot, it felt rushed,
Contains: dual POV, dystopian world, US based, small amount of romance, military society, internal dialogues

I loved it! If you like techy, sci fi action you'll like it.
Pros: the humor, the leads, the emotions it pulls out of you, the suspense
Cons: got confusing at times with the lingo and format, do not read on a kindle it's too small, many unanswered questions

It started slow for me, i wasn't connecting with the characters but halfway through it clicked and i couldn't put it down. I was surprised at how romantic it wound up and how many serious themes were discussed.
Pros: the characters and their motivations, the adventure aspect, the humor
Cons: i didn't care for anyone in the beginning, i wanted more from the ending but it still wrapped up Monty's story

Strange the Dreamer | Laini Taylor

4/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Pros- Her writing is wonderful! Laini paints pictures in your mind. The main strength of this book are the 2 main characters, you fall so in love with them you don't want to let go.
Cons- The pacing of most of this is slooow. This first book is mainly setting things up and that does not make for a fast read. Also just a warning the ending... it will gut you.
If you liked the DOSAB series she did previously, it is very similar.

3 1/2 /5 🌟🌟🌟I still am not sure how i feel about this book.
Pros
The world creation, inclusion of a romance which i always appreciate, a sense of mystery
Cons
I did not connect with the characters, backstory was sparse and romance was unrealistic. I also felt the ending was a bit rushed and like the author was trying too hard to create a sense of wonder.
Another book i will read sequels for but not high on the tbr list.

3/5 ?While i enjoyed the character development there wasn't anyone i rooted for. I found myself very frustrated with their choices and lack of communication.
I also was disappointed with the "romance", one was sad and unrequited while the other was selfish.
I did enjoy the conversations about the different roles and power of women and also the spin on historical events.
Will probably read the 2nd book but not high on my tbr pile.
