A friend of mine mentioned this book and I was intrigued so I added it to my TBR and yesterday finally started reading it. Just finished it today and I have it today, the entire book had me hooked. I am enjoying this series so much so that I am now reading the second book in the series.

StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego A great month. I have to admit I've still never read HP. 🙈📖💖 2mo
laur89 @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego 😮 No way! What‘s the reason behind this?! I‘ve been a Potterhead for so long, I can‘t ever remember not enjoying the Wizarding world. 2mo
StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego I dunno, I wasn't as huge a reader in my teens, so I never got into them. 2mo
laur89 @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego It‘s never too late to start reading them for the first time ☺️ the audiobooks read by Jim Dale are wonderful, and there‘s been an ongoing #HPBuddyRead with plenty of discussion, if you happen to decide to read them! 2mo

Not to brag, but I seriously underestimated how much reading time super early retirement, ARCs and access to audiobooks would contribute to my Goodreads Challenge. I am certain I can reach my goal before the end of June.

BarbaraBB Super early retirement intrigues me. At what age did you stop working? 2mo
Cathythoughts Well done Julia 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 2mo
julesG @BarbaraBB I was forced to stop working full-time three years ago, at age 36. Meanwhile I have stopped working altogether. Due to health reasons, I have multiple sclerosis. As much as I "enjoy" not having to work, the financial situation worries me. And I often miss being part of a team, meeting colleagues every day. Guess that's why I'm so active on Litsy. 2mo
BarbaraBB I am so sorry to hear you have MS and were forced to give up work. Early retirement then doesn‘t sound so attractive anymore. I hope Litsy and the many books you read will give you lot of diversion (is that the correct word?) from your worries ❤️😘🙏 2mo
Velvetfur Sorry to hear about the MS Julia 🙁 But I would also like to congratulate you on your reading goal and the fact that you're smashing it 👊📚 2mo
julesG @BarbaraBB thank you! (distraction might be better) I remember being utterly shocked when my neurologist suggested I apply for early retirement about 2 years ago. I wanted to work, my kids were old enough to get along without me for a few hours and settled in school. However every time I attempted some form of regular 9-5 work, even reduced hours, my health trew lemons at me. Then started the long and rocky road to getting retirement. And, 👇 2mo
Megabooks Great job! 2mo
julesG As if right now, it's not permanent. I'll have to reapply for continuation next year. 😖😬 Somehow the health insurance companies and retirement agencies still think a chronic disease might be cured within a few months. 2mo
julesG @Velvetfur Thank you! 2mo
Susannah Oh dear, @julesG. I‘m so sorry you have to battle bureaucracies as well as your illness. That‘s just appalling.... I am very impressed by your speedy reading! I discovered audiobooks in the last few years and know I wouldn‘t read half as much without them. I love that I can engage with books even when I‘m taking care of other things (house cleaning, commutes, etc). Congratulations! 🎉💐 2mo
BarbaraBB Distraction. Of course. And too battle against health insurance companies must be challenging. Wishing you all the best with your health and your books! 2mo
julesG @Susannah Would be boring if they didn't put up all the red tape, wouldn't it? Thank you! There are craft and cooking books among those 147 read books. I review those quite often. 2mo
Deifio Wow, congrats on so many books read! What do you craft? Sorry to hear about the MS. Hope the bureaucracy isn't too bad (not like in Asterix und Obelix) 😉 2mo
jenniferw88 So sorry to hear about the MS. I would suggest coming to the UK, but the NHS isn't perfect (though it's helped me a lot - it would say that MS won't be cured in the next few months!) and Brexit problems it probably isn't a good idea! 2mo
julesG @Deifio Took me two years to eventually get the funding for a help (comes in twice a week to do cleaning, etc), because bureaucracy - that was definitely Asterix like, being sent from one office to the next and back to square one. I dabble in a lot of crafts, fibre arts (knitting, crochet, weaving, embroidery,...), painting, DIY, jewellery making, wood working,... I have always liked working with my hands and love trying out new things. 2mo
julesG @jenniferw88 Without kids, I would have moved to the UK years ago. Definitely think the NHS is similar to what I get here in Germany. Kids and Brexit though, I'd better stay here for a little longer. Although both my kids said they'd come with me to the UK, their father/my ex objects. My youngest is 9.5 years old, so I might move in 9 years. They'll hopefully have sorted Brexit out by then. 😜 2mo
Freespirit Wow amazing reading year @julesG Sorry to hear about your battles with health and insurance companies. ❤️❤️ 2mo
julesG @Freespirit Thanks! Let's just say, I'm a chronic pain in the lower extremities of my case workers. 😉 2mo
Freespirit @julesG Good on you👍🏻😍 2mo
jenniferw88 @julesG 🤞 Brexit is sorted! The thing that annoys me about the NHS is that you would think transplant recipients (like me) get free prescriptions wouldn't you, but no, i get free prescriptions because of my diabetes! Makes no sense to me whatsoever - surely transplant medication is more important?! 2mo
julesG @jenniferw88 Who gets which medication free of charge is definitely not to be understood. Same here. - - - Brexit is sorted? I should watch/read the news more often. These days I only check the weather forecast, couldn't handle the drama. 2mo
jenniferw88 @julesG meant fingers crossed Brexit is sorted in 9 years' time lol! Still got to get our new PM... I don't want either but Boris will be worst! 2mo
julesG @jenniferw88 Now I get it. It seems like the choice between plague and cholera (as a German aphorism goes), re PM. That said, no matter who'll make it, no-deal Brexit sounds settled. See, drama drama drama. Can we please go back to the time before Trump in the White House and before Brexit was even an idea? Enough of this Twilight Zone. 2mo
youneverarrived Fab 👏 👏 2mo
Birdsong28 Congratulations!! I am on book 44/45 so I will be also completing mine soon. 📚📖 2mo
Amiable @julesG Amen to the suggestion that we get out of this Twilight Zone of Trump and Brexit! As an American, I am barely hanging onto my sanity. Holding on until 2020 when hopefully our national nightmare will come to an end. 2mo

With this reread, I met my yearly #GoodreadsChallenge!🎉100 books!📚💕

I definitely enjoyed this more the second time around. Baz and Simon‘s dramatic relationship is deliciously overwrought. (As any #Slytherdore ship should be!) Agatha annoyed me the first time through, but I found a new appreciation for her this time. And Penny is still 100% wonderful!

I can‘t wait for Wayward Son to come out 9/24! (The day after my birthday!🤫😆)
