Addison_Reads When I lived in Greenville, SC, I discovered Cheerwine. A BBQ place there even made a Cheerwine sauce. I love both the soda and the sauce. 💚 3y

Megabooks @Aims42 yes! In Kentucky it‘s even hard to find since it‘s more of a carolinas thing. @AlaMich it tastes like the syrup in cherry pie filling. All cherry, no cola, but it does have caffeine. @Addison_Reads I went to college in NC then lived in SC a couple of years ago and got re-hooked on it! @jessinikkip I love trying regional sodas wherever I go. Here in KY we have sundrop, upper seven, RC and Big Red. 3y

AlaMich And @Megabooks if you ever come to the Wisconsin/northern Illinois area, you have to try Sprecher sodas, especially root beer. If you are a root beer person, of course. (edited) 3y

Loved this collection! I only skipped one story, just because it was too freaky. In spoiler tag.

Two of the stories were new for this collection. The remainder have been published but mainly in the 90s, so even if you watch for him, you may not remember these.

Megabooks I‘ll need to look back at titles, but the two that have stuck with me are the one where the guy on vacation goes down to the ocean to die and the first. I agree the title story was good, but it pissed me off/made me sad, so I‘m still not sure how I feel about it. @L_auren (edited) 7y

It‘s hard to say why I liked this book. Domestic tension among members of the household is explored. It kind of reminded me of History of Wolves. If you liked HOW or suspense books that don‘t have a lot of, well, action, this is for you.

She also added the character of Benjamin, a murderer for hire, which was an artistic choice that I though improved the story. Solid 4⭐️ #CheerwineandaBook

As far as story order, it is one of the best collections I have ever read. Highly, highly recommend! #CheerwineAndABook #recommendsday

Time for #CheerwineAndABook! Tonight I'm reading The Widow, which is mediocre in the exact perfect way, and The Throwback Special, which I'm slowly working my way through.

For those not in the know, Cheerwine is a very refreshing caffeinated cherry soda available in the Carolinas and elsewhere in the South. Perfect for days when you sideswiped a car in your work parking lot! 👌🏻😬
