I was really charmed by this! Easy, breezy, fluffy brain candy, with fun characters and a gossipy village feel to Nantucket that hit the spot. Plus an omnipresent ghost narrator from the hotel‘s heyday! Perfect for your beach bag with a couple of caveats. The incessant pop culture reference-dropping was annoying, and fat-shaming terminology and attitudes reared their (sadly not unusual) ugly head a few times. But a 4 ⭐️ heart-warmer non-the-less.
My #bookspin for August is the tagged book and my #doublespin is Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow.
I was waiting to post my August bingo layout until I had a finished book in order to illustrate the theme better!

If you're an Elin Hilderbrand fan this will not disappoint. The Hotel Nantucket has recently been renovated and reopened to great fanfare, lore, and suspicion from the island locals. It's a classic, character driven Hilderbrand beach read (with a few twists, given that one perspective is from a ghost who passed in a fire at the hotel many years back). A very enjoyable vacation read that I'm just getting around to posting a review for! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Hotel Nantucket follows the lives of the staff hired to re-open a luxury hotel and Grace the hotel's ghost a victim of a fire. The book is a good mix of light mystery, romance and drama. The perfect summer read.
What a fabulously different take on my favorite author‘s usuals. Grace doesn‘t disappoint and Lizbet is such a great character. Also lookout for multi-book favorite characters Jennifer Quinn, Eddie Pancik, and so many others! So glad I have a signed copy of this gem.
Well, this was all the fun I anticipate in a new Elin Hilderbrand with so many characters that it‘s easy to forget some from one chapter to the next. I have come to accept that mapping her characters is part of the experience. In this one, even the dead girl has a good chance of remaining a key character if there is more to come at this hotel.
This book was amazing. The characters were well developed and the storyline was fabulous.
This is a great summer read. It was like being with friends,I did not want it to end. 😍
Book #39 for 2022, great summer beach read! Would highly recommend, thought the supernatural element would be off putting but really enjoyed it!
I‘ve enjoyed all of Elin Hilderbrands books I‘ve read and this is no exception. I fell in love with the characters as well as the Hotel. The setting is almost like an extra character. A tiny bit of paranormal with a a ghost I was rooting for was a cute touch. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Like most of her books, this is a soft pick for me. I loved the characters and mentions of characters and events from her other books. Yet there were so many characters and told from so many perspectives, and sometimes we could go 50 plus pages forgetting some of them exist. It probably would have been better if it was told from Grace and Lisbet‘s perspectives. The first half dragged along but the second half speed by. 👎
The Hotel Nantucket is classic Ellen Hildebrand summer beach read material but, with a fun twist! History with a mystery, secrets and broken trusts, intrigue, underhanded dealings, hard work, play hard, success, broken hearts, self discovery, surprises, love. Will the newly renovated Hotel Nantucket survived its 1st season? Will it earn the coveted 5th key? Is it haunted?? Is being haunted good or bad? (Cont in comments)...
3.5 ⭐️ This book is about starting anew, finding a chosen family, and feeling a strong connection to a place. With an array of characters, including the hotel itself, this is a fun “beach read.” I enjoyed the strong sense of place and lightheartedness of this book. I recommend this book if you are looking for a story that‘ll transport you to a summer destination. Full review: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/59227941
